About

Like their band name, the multi-faceted sound of British indie rockers Alt-J (∆) requires a bit of explaining. The name derives from the combination of keys that results in a delta sign (∆) on Mac computers; the sound – a combination of folk-pop, skittering polyrhythms, and soaring falsetto harmonies – results in happy critics and even happier listeners.  The quartet formed in 2007 in a Leeds Metropolitan University dorm room, and the constraints of recording demos in a quiet study environment heavily influenced their hushed, intricate approach to indie rock. Their 2012 debut An Awesome Wave received the Mercury Prize, Britain’s most prestigious music award, and launched the band to indie stardom with singles “Breezeblocks” and “Fitzpleasure.” Alt-J are on tour in 2013, and ticket buyers can be sure that no matter how big the venue, the band will deliver the intimate live concert they’ve become known for.

    fun but

    by robm1 on 2022-04-21Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

obviously alt-j are amazing, great show all round - but the sound at coco-cola coliseum was utter garbage. i mean, a big hockey arena is not likely to have good acoustics and of course it is impossible for the best sound team to do much about it, but just something to consider: you're there for the party, not for the sound. unfortunate though, bc last time i saw them at echo beach, the sound was incredibly good.

Portugal. The Man and Cherry Glazerr

by wfshr on 2022-04-20Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

Portugal. The Man and Cherry Glazerr certainly stole the show. Greatly outshined Alt-J. Venue was good. Crowd was good. Portugal. The Man’s set was fantastic.

    F-ing amazing

by Gdt on 2022-04-20Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

From the purchase of the tickets, to transferring two to my friend, to the ease of showing the barcodes to the attendants at the concert. The entire process was amazing, fast and without mistakes. Including the venue, was very cool and nice the lineups weren’t too long. Plus, the entire show was incredibly memorable and just outstanding. The show alt j put on was one I will never forget for my entire lifetime, and I look forward to seeing them again, and using this platform again.

Love the band..but the venue was meh

by KitKat on 2022-04-20Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

Main act goes on at 9pm, and you close the vendors stands at 10pm..really?! Some of us might want a 2nd beer to enjoy with the show ya know 🥲. Lost an opportunity to make sooo much more $ just so you can close halfway through a show, so strange

by Julia on 2022-04-20Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

10/10! Visuals: amazing. Sound: amazing. I was disappointed in Portugal the Man though. Had seen them a few years back and they were also amazing.

    Poor visibility

by Nik on 2022-04-20Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

The set design and sound were well done, but unfortunately the design didn’t account for visibility of the band unless you were a straight on viewer. Poor venue for the visual design to view in a 180 degree stadium

    a night with alt J

by urbanglen on 2022-04-20Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

a truly unique night out. the expectations of the audience were exceeded on every level the artists masterfully created an atmosphere that ranged from mystery to magic and through driving rock percussions to operatic instances of sensitivity the audience was charged and involved singing dancing and compelled to be part of the show

Amazing Visuals, WORST exit plan at venu

by Lan on 2022-04-20Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

The live experience itself was amazing! Amazing visuals and performance! The Coca-Cola Coliseum as a venue was alright, all the seats close to the floor were at a terrible angle, everyone had to turn sideways in their seats to see the stage. The exit strategy is horrible, the only doors to exit from are the main entrance doors. Everyone was squished together, lots of people became impatient, no crowd management when exiting!

    Unreal Experience!

    by C. M. on 2022-04-20Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

This was the second time I've seen Alt-J live and they did not disappoint! The energy they put into each song was amazing. The stage production was also beautifully well done. The lights, the stage setup, the sounds, the video footage and change of scenes for each song was incredible. I would definitely recommend seeing them live on tour. If I could change anything, it would be to have purchased General Admission tickets as opposed to seating. The energy of the crowd would've been great to experience first hand. Overall, I'd go see them again in a heartbeat.

concert was amazing - Coca Cola coliseum organization wasn’t

by Dustin on 2022-04-20Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

Alt-j was absolutely fantastic. One of the best if not the best show I’ve ever been to. The Coca Cola coliseum on the other hand completely dropped the ball on entry. When we got there just after doors there was a 45ish minute wait to get in in one single file line. By the time we got in Portugal the man’s set was almost complete so we missed half the show. Unacceptable. With that - Alt-j put on a show I will never forget :)

So good to be back at a show!

by Jace on 2022-04-20Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

Fantastic performance by both Alt-J and PTM. Was tempered to see them closer to home in MTL but decided to catch the closer to the North American tour in the 6. The show was great. Visuals fit their music perfectly. Great to catch them on this tour as my last attempt to see them got rained out in the US.

ALT-J perfection (but Portugal the man not so much)

by Ad on 2022-04-18Place Bell - Laval

ALT-J performance was freaking awesome! Light, visual effects, sounds, just perfect. PTM was quite bad, listening to one song was like listening to all the songs... Cherry Glazer was pretty good!!
