About

Andrea Bocelli is one of the most recognizable voices in the world. For three decades, his lush arias and stylistic range have made him the bestselling classical solo artist in history (selling 90 million albums worldwide), leading to Celine Dion famously saying said that "if God would have a singing voice, he must sound a lot like Andrea Bocelli.” The blind, Tuscany-born tenor’s concerts are a testament to his range and crossover appeal; Bocelli has become known for a blend of romantic operas by Puccini and Verdi, Schubert’s “Ave Maria,” and pop duets with stars like Dua Lipa. Over the course of his career, Bocelli has awed audiences from arenas and cathedrals to the Vatican and YouTube, where his 2020 “Music for Hope” Easter concert was viewed 28 million times worldwide within the first 24 hours.

Andrea Bocelli, David Foster, perfect in every way

by JoanneLB on 2009-12-04Air Canada Centre - Toronto

The performance was a dream come true. Sensational, mesmerizing, and simply outstanding. On stage performing so magically that one had to pitch oneself to believe they were seeing and hearing these legends in our own time. So many were brought to tears from the sheer beauty of this event. I shall never forget it and am still shaky thinking about it.

Let's shamelessly promote the Christmas CD

by Whama on 2009-12-04Air Canada Centre - Toronto

The concert was billed as Andrea Bocelli with David Foster. What it actually was : a Christmas concert to promote his Christmas CD. The first half of the concert was very short (45 min) and consisted of all opera arias with none of his lighter, popular selections. The second half was all Christmas music, and only the last 4 songs, which were encores after he repeatedly left the stage and then returned, were his popular songs for which he is most famous. He did not even perform Caruso which was his first and one of his biggest big hits. That is tantamount to a Rod Stewart concert without a rendition of Maggie May, which would never happen. If it was going to be mainly Christmas music it should have been billed as such from the start, not as a surprise when we arrived and saw written on the backdrop to the stage that it was "The Christmas Concert"

White Christmas: Andrea Bocelli with David Foster

by 2094Cate on 2009-12-04Air Canada Centre - Toronto

Sitting in the third row centre, this was an up-close-and-personal event for me....my Christmas gift to myself, went solo. The Toronto Symphony Orchestra was full and rich as usual and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir bellowed beautifully. The kids in one song upstaged everyone with their 'cuteness'. Delta (the Carrie Underwood look alike sand David Foster protegee me-thinks since she is on the "White Christmas" new CD) who came during the second act and sang was so enjoyable -- her phrasing and voice were pure, her presence was so professional and warm, she glowed from within! The soprano during the first act was superb as well and her range and voice complemented Andrea's tenor tones perfectly. The backdrop visuals were just enough and not distracting. The conductor at times looked like he was a speed skater just warming up.....tremendous energy passed on to the musicians with joy!

His voice and musical sense are sublime! And Ana Maria Martinez has an amazingly rich voice. Certainly a night to remember - I thought that my Mom was going to explode from joy. Thank you Andrea for the best Christmas present ever!

    Best Concert of My Life!

by rhonda3462 on 2009-12-04Air Canada Centre - Toronto

I have attended every major event at the Air Canada Centre and nothing to date has compared to last nights show and performance by Andrea Bocelli and guests. This is music at its best! The classics, the pop tunes, the choir, the kids, the orchestra, the beauty, the simplicity of magical voices singing memorable songs - delightful!!! Christmas truly arrived in Toronto last night.

I don't use the word enchanting frequently...

by EntertainmentSeeker on 2009-12-04Air Canada Centre - Toronto

It was the first time I've seen an event such as this and am still reeling by the power and magic of it all. Sound is a powerful thing especially when it is yielded with such awe-inspiring precision. I don't believe in raw talent, ergo I believe that Andrea Bocelli must have tens of thousands of hours of experience under his belt as his performance was mind boggling, flawless, and crisp. At the same time he manages to pull you in and endear himself to the audience creating an intimate experience although the Air Canada Center is anything but. He covered many well known operatic pieces as well as some of his new XMas album which was produced with David Foster (there's the connection!). I wasn't as enthralled as much with Act II where the Yuletide spirit was shown as I was there for a different type of experience however it was undeniably unique regardless and everyone pretty much got in to the spirit. Overall a wonderful and unique evening with special guests such as a full choir, the TSO, David Foster on piano, and two beautiful accompanying singers; one a young Australian beauty only 25 years old for the XMas part and the other more mature but equally lovely lady for the bolder operatic pieces. A wonderful show, and glad that I was there to be part of it.

It was such a pleasure to hear his incredible voice. Though not a typical fan of opera, it is so refreshing to hear someone singing who actually has such capability. Anna Martinez was fantastic as well.
