It was my first time at the Corono Theatre and first time seeing the Andy Kim Christmas show. Both were totally awesome. I didn't realize that there would be other performers and that was just the icing on the cake. Got to experience bands that I would otherwise not have ever been introduced to. The best part of all is that all performers do this for free and proceeds to to the Starlight foundation. Grateful to have been part of this !
show was great- not expensive and 3 hours- needed intermission. bit disorganized- not impressed wit sass jordan- late and over-served? guy from sloan- very good, molly johnson- always a pro- ron sexsmith- always amazing and andy kim- great guy- great voice- humble and seems really nice seats at corona- terrible all in all v good- just not the best of his ive seen- and a bit disorganized.
The Corona Theatre is always a fantastic venue to see a show. The Any Kim Christmas fund raiser for The Starlight Foundation was no exception. The musical talent assembled that evening was over the top. Sass Jordan, The Damn Truth, Chinsia and the Eclipse, Chris Murphy, Molly Johnson,The Dears and Andy Kim put on an unforgettable show. It was a blast!
Good bands, some better than others, but all helped for a good cause. Overall good experience.
Tbh, I was expecting more of a holiday theme, but this was a star-studded musical variety show featuring some of Canada’s top acts both past and present, as well as a budding artist or two. It’s pretty hard to beat seeing Chris Murphy, The Damn Truth, Molly Johnson, Sass Jordan and more… all in one night! Amazing!
The singers were drowned out by their instruments. When we heard their voices there was so much distortion that we couldn’t understand them.
Was just expecting Andy Kim to sing more songs. I did not know some of the singers he invited.
Andy Kim wears his heart on his sleeve and continues to bring an amazing group of musicians together, for a magical show, 18 years and counting!
I feel embarrassed I haven't experienced this wonderful Christmas series until this year. It's a fun way to start off the Christmas season and the music is amazing. For first time folk.. be there on time. They have a break in the middle but you actually don't want to miss any of the acts. (I now know the set up for next time)
Went to it thinking it would be a real Christmas concert - with Christmas carols and sing along. Instead, it turned out even better. So many artists and so much fun. Great event!
It would take too long to go into detail. Suffice it to say, that going in blind as to who is in the line-up is never a gamble. The house band was, once again, superb. And getting Sean Cullen to MC/Host was icing on a cake already rich in every way and every flavour.
Another year with a great lineup! This is an annual event and Christmas isn’t Christmas without it.
My sister and I loved Andy Kim's Christmas! It was like a modern variety show — an excellent mix of performances and types of music. We loved every performance. Billy Talent's music isn't my type, but I admit I loved his performance. An event like this shows you you can have fun and enjoy things you might not have otherwise considered listening to. Andy was awesome and lots of fun. I'm glad we got to hear a few of his songs, too. It was also wonderful to be back at Massey Hall. My only complaint is that we — and a lot of people we spoke to — weren't aware that the concert was a fundraising event or that there would be a 50/50 draw. I was so excited when I saw the event listing that I didn't notice it was a fundraising concert. That made the night extra special knowing that all the performers were giving their time and sharing their talents to raise money for CAMH. Had we known about the 50/50 in advance, we would've brought cash. we managed to find enough change in our purses to buy one ticket. The ticket sellers said a lot of the audience didn't know about the 50/50 and that, like us, people don't carry cash unless they have a reason for it. Ticketmaster and Massey could have done a better job of promoting the 50/50. Also, maybe Massey could look at a cashback option for people buying drinks to get cash back to purchase 50/50 tickets. I'm sure most people would've dug deep had they known about the 50/50 in advance or if there was an easy way to purchase the 50/50 tickets with cash back.
The line to get in was long. Once the doors opened, it went quite quickly and smoothly. Same for the beverage area. Every Massey associate I encountered was helpful, happy, and friendly.Sound and visibility both right. Glad to get back to live music, and to Massey Hall.
I have wanted to go for years. Brought the whole family out. We all loved it! Very entertaining
Thank you to Andy Kim and all the fabulous Canadian artists for putting on this show.
I love Andy Kim and the group of talented performers he assembled to play this evening was great! Some weren’t bands I knew of so listening to something different was a great experience. Looking forward to next years show!
Really enjoyed seeing all these differrent artists, especially when they did a song with everyone. Nice venue and a great cause.
We are total fans of Andy Kim and have attended a few of his Christmas shows. It was nice to be in the updated Massey Hall but the same problem prevails - the poles! Why does the map not show the obstruction? I was directly in the the middle of the pole. The concert was halting. Every act had to set up, play and then the audience had to wait for the next act. After an hour and 45 minutes we left. We enjoyed a few of the acts especially William Prince. Won’t go next year but leave a donation for CAMH.
