Not Great = Hit and Miss!

by Philly on 2021-12-11Massey Hall - Toronto

We are total fans of Andy Kim and have attended a few of his Christmas shows. It was nice to be in the updated Massey Hall but the same problem prevails - the poles! Why does the map not show the obstruction? I was directly in the the middle of the pole. The concert was halting. Every act had to set up, play and then the audience had to wait for the next act. After an hour and 45 minutes we left. We enjoyed a few of the acts especially William Prince. Won’t go next year but leave a donation for CAMH.

    In Recovery

by Snoopy on 2021-12-11Massey Hall - Toronto

Massey Hall needs to get its act together. They should not allow patrons to eat or drink inside the theatre as this allows Patrons to remove their face masks and then keep them off during the performance as security staff and ushers do not appear to be instructed to enforce the mask mandate during the performance. Massey hall was none for it's excellent acoustics prior to it's renovation so it's difficult to understand why they've installed a new speaker system which is so loud that it attacks and pounds your senses into a painful submission destroying any ability to enjoy the performances. This was our 2nd visit to the hall in 2 weeks and we will not be returning to again. The Andy Kim Christmas show was a disappointment, as it appeared to be unorganized, the music far too loud and had no recognizable Christmas theme to tie all the performances together. It started late and ran on far too long. We left at 11:10 prior to the conclusion of the performances. My hearing is still compromised.

Great show, great memory and fun!

by Larry on 2021-12-11Massey Hall - Toronto

Love Andy. He's great, humble and humorous! A surprise that our Mayor awarded him the Key to the City of Toronto. A touching moment which will last forever. The guest artists were awesome! Thank Andy for bringing it altogether and it's a great Christmas celebration. Hope to see you again, and again!

It was an amazing assortment of talented, entertaining performers. Theo Tams voice and stage presence stole the show.

    Andy Kim Xmas show

by Percy on 2021-12-11Massey Hall - Toronto

The show could be best described as eclectic. There were some high notes as well as low spots but overall it was an enjoyable evening. Perhaps it might be a better idea to have fewer performers but allow them to sing 3 or 4 songstress one time. Also the stage was decorated in a festive manner with a beautiful array of lighted trees but very few performers sang Christmas songs. Keep Ron Sexsmith and his version of Chris Rea’s “Driving Home for Christmas”. The end part of the show with everyone on stage and Andy Kim singing his hits was definitely the hit of the evening. My sincere thanks to Andy Kim for all of his efforts in putting this show together for CAMH. He raised a lot of money for a very good cause. Looking forward to next year’s show.

    Andy Kim

by Cathy on 2021-12-11Massey Hall - Toronto

The show was terrible. It took to long to set up the next act. I left just after the intermission and at that point Andy Kim die 1 or 2 songs. The only good thing about the show is that the proceeds went to charity.

Don’t know where to begin as this evening was filled with excellent artists and Andy kept it all flowing smoothly. Great to see TPOH together again. Many surprises. Loved every minute.

I have never been to an Andy Kim show before and didn’t know what to expect. Andy had amazingly assembled an incredible number of singers and bands and the concert went on until midnight!…nearly 4 hours long….all of the proceeds were donated to CAMH!! A truly special event , hosted by an a giving individual and performed by a number of big name singers and bands!

    Great Night!

by CiaoBella on 2021-12-11Massey Hall - Toronto

Andy Kim is awesome, so happy to see him honoured by John Tory! The talent was great, especially the Led Zeppelin cover. Was looking forward to seeing Men Without Hats, but they were a no show. Looking forward to next year.

Great night for a great cause. A few technical issues that caused it to go a little long, but we’ll worth it.

    Andy Kim Rocks

by Bobby on 2021-12-11Massey Hall - Toronto

The Andy Kim Christmas Show was fantastic. Highlights include The Sheepdogs, the Led Zeppelin portion and Mo Berg. The show was well put together and the finale with Andy singing was great. Thumbs down to event staff who did not have enough people to handle processing the entry into the Hall efficiently and leaving us in a huge line up before the show.

Andy Kim is a national treasure

by Allen Gudani on 2021-12-11Massey Hall - Toronto

I’ve been attending Andy Kim’s Christmas Concerts with my wife since 2009. So glad to see him again after the COVID-19 lockdowns. What a treat to have Mayor John Tory award him with the key to the city on the very first Andy Kim Day in Toronto; Dec. 8, 2021. Such a great lineup; Jully Black is Toronto’s Tina Turner; Ron Sexsmith’s Driving Home for Christmas is my favourite version; Billy Talent, Sheepdogs, Crown Lands, Cody Bowles, Tyler Shaw, Georgia Harmer, William Prince, Mary Margaret O’Hara, Pursuit of Happiness and Rush’s guitarist Alex Lifeson. What a memorable night!

    Awesome evening

by RM on 2019-12-10Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Toronto

Growing up on rural NL in the 70s, Andy Kim was my idol. My friends and I (age 13) would walk the community roads with our 8-track tape players listening to 'Rock me Gently' all night long. I never dreamed I would see Andy Kim in concert. What a treat! And, an amazing line up of Canadian talent. I will be back next year.

    A Great Time

by Ellceedee on 2019-12-07Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Toronto

This was my first ‘Andy Kim Annual Christmas Concert’ but it won’t be my last. The line up was great and all the performers were energetic, singing their hits. Proceeds go to a good cause. The night ended with everyone on stage singing Sugar Sugar and the audience singing along. So much fun. A particular highlight was The Safety Dance by Men Without Hats - fantastic!

A great night for a great cause

    by s. m. on 2019-12-07Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Toronto

This is a special evening that everyone should experience. Great artists coming together in the spirit of giving and sharing. The show was amazing, highlighted by Ivan (Men Without Hats). The only issue was the sound was not great. The mix wasn’t right and overall a bit muddy. But the songs were amazing!

    Fantastic and heartwarming

by Barbie Bear on 2019-12-07Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Toronto

Andy Kim Christmas Concert is the way to get into the Christmas spirit. Great variety of entertainment and artists. Wonderful music and dance. The Christmas trees, lights and decor was very festive. We left with the Christmas spirit. Many people will be helped by this event and the generosity of those who contributed to this evening!
