  • Sleepy. Hollow.

Andy sounded great but...I was expecting a band. Not a big one, but a band. Wish I'd known.

  • Genius

by CareLoon on 2024-10-09London Music Hall - LondonRating: 5 out of 5

Andy Shauf is nothing less than a genius. His musical storytelling is unparalleled, and in person, his tone pierces through my soul. Seeing him live brought a whole new dimension to his music, with every note and lyric carefully crafted to take you on an emotional journey. His performance was intimate yet powerful, and it felt like each song was a personal conversation between him and the audience. He also engaged in a personal conversation with the audience and now I know his favourite colour and zodiac sign. ;) From the opening strum of his guitar to the final encore, Shauf held the room in rapt attention. His ability to convey complex emotions through his soft vocals and intricate melodies is truly remarkable. It felt like the entire room was suspended in time, hanging onto every word. The solo performance allowed for subtle precision, with a backing track giving Shauf’s stories the perfect musical backdrop without ever overpowering his voice. The lighting and stage design were minimalist, which allowed his music to take center stage—exactly where it belongs. Overall, the concert was more than just a performance; it was a deeply moving experience. Andy Shauf's ability to blend narrative depth with haunting melodies makes his live shows unforgettable.

  • Great performance and acoustics in Massey

    by J on 2023-05-08Massey Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Beautiful show, beautiful theatre. Andy's live performance was eerily identical to his music that echo's through our speakers all the time. The light show was a nice touch and his authentically charming demeanor made the show feel gently intimate. The new renovation at Massey Hall was also a welcomed surprise.

  • 5 stars for andy, 1 star for the seating

by virnoide on 2023-05-08Massey Hall - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

The place is very cool and the performance was very beautiful and warm, but from my seat I couldn't see a thing. There was no warning about how little I would see, not even the top of his head from 309C - 5. If the venue provided at least a big screen for people in less privileged spots, that would have been great.

by Joy Diamond on 2023-03-20Burton Cummings Theatre - WinnipegRating: 5 out of 5

That’s what my daughter said when we left the concert.”Mom, I feel like I’ve been in a dream.” I agreed! Andy and his amazing band created a soothing, complex soundscape that transported us to a beautiful place.

  • Boring!!!

by Jill on 2023-03-14Orpheum Theatre - VancouverRating: 1 out of 5

I love this guy’s music but this was truly the worst live show I have ever attended - very disappointed. Sound was off, lighting was weird and the r stage set was just so bleh. But worst of all- he was just not at all engaging. He barely talked to the audience, or seemed to want to be there. The few things he did say were daft and banal. He never spoke about his music, introduced his songs - Nada. I was really bored and would have rather listened to a scratchy cd. So disappointed by a favourite artist that I wanted to see for years and wanted to support.
