    April Wine was disappointing!

by lovemusic on 2009-07-15Red Robinson Show Theatre - Coquitlam

This was a concert we were expecting to be able to sing along with every song. It was our era. We had never heard the first few songs they played. April Wine didn't play their biggest hits and their excuse was that there was no keyboard. If you can't play your big hits don't play. Since then I have heard several great songs of theirs on the radio. We didn't hear those songs at the concert. Thank goodness I brought ear plugs! I guess their age is showing thru. Deaf from years of performing. Unfortunately, our friends weren't so lucky.

Great Show. Great April Wine tunes. Sound man should have retired before he went deaf. Not too loud, just to loud for gear being used. Overall I was impressed.

    April Wine was outstanding

by Peewee on 2009-07-13Red Robinson Show Theatre - Coquitlam

I really wasn't sure what to expect as the band members are up there in age. They can still rock & hit the notes. I was actually extemely impressed. Outstanding performance.

April Wine rocks my world, always has, always will

by Ernidog on 2009-07-13Red Robinson Show Theatre - Coquitlam

Saw April Wine Edmonton1980, was the first concert I ever went to.It was totally wicked starting with DING! DING! DING! DING! (Oooowhatanight). I grew up with their songs and it was really cool to see them in Vancouver 19 years later (this year). They are a bit older and not as full of P&V as they used to be, but we are still exactly the same (haha). Yay, I got the guitar pick!

    APRIL WINE

by Tommyboy on 2009-07-13Century Casino - Edmonton

Excellent show, Miles Goodwin and co continue to fill the house and deliver the roots of Canadian Hard Rock the way it was meant to be heard. Never a disapointing show.

    April Wine was a disappointment

by blue on 2009-07-13Century Casino - Edmonton

With all of the awesome hits April Wine had over the years, I would have expected them to play them all (not songs by the Beatles and Rolling Stones).

The concert venue was good and we had a good time. I thought for the money we would have had them play for more than a hour.

    April Wine was Forgettable

by 123456 on 2009-07-13Red Robinson Show Theatre - Coquitlam

I was really looking forward to this concert but sadly it was worst concert I've ever been to. They played way too loud. I had to plug my ears to actually hear the song. April Wine had a distinct sound and they ruined that by playing the songs hard and loud.

    Unbearably loud

by Toad on 2009-07-13Red Robinson Show Theatre - Coquitlam

We all love the old April Wine music but this concert was so over the top loud it was almost unbearable. It was incredibly distorted....................It was a MESS. This theatre needs a new sound man!

    April Wine was great!

by ShelbyGT500 on 2009-07-13Red Robinson Show Theatre - Coquitlam

The April Wine concert was great! good sound, great venue. The only thing that i didn't like was they played a lot of really old songs and not a lot of there recognizable hits.

April Wine - This Wine did not age well

by Jonabi on 2009-07-13Red Robinson Show Theatre - Coquitlam

Saw these guys a few times years ago and they were bang on...but now...hmmm??? They should concentrate more on the classics that everyone wants to sing. Third song in and Miles went into a long guitar solo. I think if they stuck to the radio hits it would have a been a much better concert. Wardrobe and stage could have used some work as well.

    April Wine

by lildeere on 2009-07-13Red Robinson Show Theatre - Coquitlam

If you know & like April Wine music, then it was pretty decent show. My husband likes the band and the show was more for him. Throughout the evening, I counted no more than seven songs in total that I knew and the ones that I did not know were pretty good, but it didn't impress me enough to run out to buy the CD. They are not AC/DC or Aeorsmith, but they are still rocking pretty cool.

    April Wine was amazing

by Dragon on 2009-07-13Red Robinson Show Theatre - Coquitlam

This was an excellent concert. The only thing missing was the original drummer. The new guy was good but he needs to get into the music and not just play it.

    Great Canadian Classic Rock

by Ronster on 2009-07-13Red Robinson Show Theatre - Coquitlam

April Wine started off by playing a lot of lesser known cuts from their earlier albums for the first half hour. Once they started playing the hits the audience hit the dance floor and stayed till the end of the concert. Highlights included "Sign of the Gypsy Queen, Oowatanite, Roller and I Like to Rock".

April Wine didn't play long enough.

by Wendywalk on 2009-07-12Red Robinson Show Theatre - Coquitlam

Sounded great. Just like they did thirty years ago when I saw them last, but they only played for about an hour and a half.
