    April Wine lives on!

by Tiggawigga on 2009-10-04Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Toronto

For a great price, my teenage sons and I were able to attend the April Wine concert, and they could get exposure to yet another great legend in Canadian music while I got to relive a bit of history....the old bands still have what it takes!!

    The Beat Stops Here

by Bluenose on 2009-10-04Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Toronto

April wine always puts on a great show. With these smaller venues it allows Miles great sense of humor to come out. He is great at bringing the audience into the show and making them feel apart of the concert. The one thing I felt very noticeable was the departure of Mercer. Blair is a capable drummer but he does not have that booming presence of Mercer. When I was a teenager I would look forward to the huge stadium gigs April Wine would play. I still look forward to the shows with equal anticipation but I am really happy to see them in such intimit settings. With April Wine Enough is NEVER Enough!

    april wine

by JayRrrr on 2009-10-04Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Toronto

The show was excellent ,my only complaint was it was so loud it almost sounded distorted ,I would have liked to hear some of the older 70's songs, but thats just me. The guitar playing was fabulous as was the drummer loved the solo. It just goes to show that Wine gets better with age ha! Thanks for a great evening.

    Could have covered more....

by Studnick on 2009-10-04Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Toronto

territory, given the substantive array of great songs this band put out over the 70's and 80's. Although Miles developed a solid rapport with the audience, injecting humorous anecdotes and personal stories throughout, he could have done less talking and more playing. April Wine was famous for their power ballads and yet only "Just between You & Me" was covered. I have to admit though, the guitar playing was fantastic! The drummer's solo was excellent as well. The vocals were sometimes inaudible, with the instrumentation overpowering them.

The Wine Still "Like To Rock"

by BILLYDEE on 2009-10-04Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Toronto

Great show last night by April Wine. There was nothing fancy about the show in terms of lighting, stage set up, etc. which is the way it should be ... just a passionate and talented band continuing to perform great music in front of their loyal fans. They sounded great and the atmosphere was very relaxed and casual. The venue (Queen Elizabeth Theatre) was a pleasant surprise - great sound and the sightlines were excellent from every angle. Myles was his usual witty, entertaining and warm self. Great set list covering off all of their classics. All in all a great show, great band and great evening. April Wine still "Like To Rock"!

    April Wine...still totally awesome!!

by DTMS on 2009-10-04Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Toronto

These guys still kick ass just like in the 70's when they were my fav!! The new additions to the band are great and the music seamless. I loved how Miles shared stories from the band's past, as well as his personal past, highlighting where they have been and how some of the songs came to be. Made the experience more personal and informal.

    April Wine Still Going Strong.

by GerryFan on 2009-10-04Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Toronto

One of the exciting concerts I remember attending as a teen was April Wine..but that was 30 years ago...what would they be like now? What would they even look like? I was really impressed. Like me, they are older but they can really lay it on...and they did. Miles joked about needing naps but his (and Brian's) guitar work was incredible...I guess that's what you get after doing this at their level for 40 years. He and Brian could still hit most of the notes...many quite true to the original recordings...and everyone knew the words. And the newer members of the team were solid too...the cowbell at the end was pretty great to hear live and the guy on base can sing. Good to see some parents want to introduce their kids to the talent of a couple of Canmadian rock legends and hear some of the gems these guys have put out over the years. Thanks Guys. You took me and a couple of thousand others back to another time. It was great.

    April Wine

by slats on 2009-09-11McPhillips Street Station Casino - Winnipeg

Started out slow ,but it did pick up with the band playing some of their top hits later on. To many solos at the beginning. They didn't seem to have the crowd with them at the start but did not disappoint as the night went on

    Disappointed

by LakeSummer on 2009-09-11McPhillips Street Station Casino - Winnipeg

Very disappointed. I have their album done about 3 years ago. they played 1 song from it when there are a lot of good songs on it, They are a retro band and should be playing a lot of their hits. Did not need to hear a ton of guitar solo's

All original members? No. Did that matter? Not at all. These guys were awesome. They sounded great and were very entertaining to watch. One of my favourite bands growing up, and I was not disappointed.

by tessiebird on 2009-09-11McPhillips Street Station Casino - Winnipeg

April Wine was awesome. Being transported back in time to the 70s was incredible. Very personable band which show they haven't changed over the decades.

    April Wine still rock

by Huey on 2009-09-11McPhillips Street Station Casino - Winnipeg

The boys can still play rock guitar like they did in the 70's. Great memories and a great show. The crowd needed to get up and dance some more but they were too old....

by Trogdor on 2009-08-13Deerfoot Inn & Casino - Calgary

I've seen April Wine once before, and I have got to say their show was awesome. If I could afford to see every concert they stared in I would. But that will not stop me from seeing them again!!!
