    Incredible production

by Scou on 2011-02-07The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

The actors, script, set, voices, puppets, joke,s songs and overall performance was incredible. It was hilarious and very professional. The theater was a little "well worn" and it showed with some sour sound moments and weak lighting episodes. A late spotlight, poor lit background actors and sound feedback was probably only noticed by myself, being a theater student, but other then those very minuscule flaws the show was awesome. We were craning our necks and sliding side to side in our seats to see around the short people in front of us who were blocking the majority of the middle of the stage, Im sure disrupting the people behind us and so on and so forth. The seats were uncomfortable and the carpets torn and taped. We ended up moving into empty box seats along the side and still have poor view but better and more comfortable neck positions then before.

    Avenue Q

by Nosneb on 2011-02-07The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

Set was great; actors were dynamic;vocals were strong; great story line. As we were up in the balcony, I strained to hear the dialogue on a few occasions but not often. Excellent show and my teens loved it!

Avenue Q is a must see

by Jillybean604 on 2011-02-07The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

One of the best plays I've ever been to. Amazing performances by an exceptional cast. The puppet characters were so wonderful, the script hilarious and insightful at the same time.

    Hilarious!

by AuntieDonuts on 2011-02-07The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

This is such a clever, cute and enjoyable musical! It's tough to get a standing ovation out of a Vancouver audience, but they got a well-deserved one for this show. I'd like to see it again since I was laughing so hard I'm sure I missed some gems. Just a note to parents...there are advisories on the posters and ads for this show...but at least one parent (in our row) brought a 5 - 6 year old child, which was totally inappropriate. For older teens or adults only! Brilliant cast, special kudos to puppeteers for Princeton and Kate Monster! I do wish they'd had programs though so we could know who was in this very talented cast.

Clever, clever use of puppets for adults

by Kaap on 2011-02-07The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

Not having really known anything about this show, my husband and I weren't quite sure what to expect. We were very glad we went! The 7 performers are all very talented and are great singers as well as great puppeteers (4 are puppeteers). The story and music was very good as well. Although puppets are in the show, this is NOT a show for children, as a fair bit is adult-oriented only! We laughed a lot and would certainly recommend it!

    As good as Broadway

by Legoboy on 2011-02-07The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

...and I should know, I saw it there last summer. If i had to be critical, I was least impressed with the Gary Coleman this time around...but perhaps the jokes just get a bit tired. Enjoyed every minute! Now...bring on Wicked!

Funny. Never thought I'd see Muppets making love, live on stage, but there it was.

It was amazing! It was even better than I imagined it would be from listening to the soundtrack all these years. Great set and wonderful performances.

    Avenue Q was hiliarious!!!

by Anonymous on 2011-02-07The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

I'm glad Avenue Q has finally come to Vancouver! There was non-stop laughter in this show. I thought it was quite creative. There seemed to have been more people than I thought because some of the voices of the puppets were done by the same person. I would definitely recommend this show to other people. My husband and I enjoyed it.

    Go see Avenue Q!!

by Heather212 on 2011-02-07The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

what a surprise! I had no idea what this musical was about except that it had won a number of Tony awards in 2009 which is enough for me. I took my mother and when she asked me what it was about and all I could tell her was that it had puppets in it, she was very skeptical. Well, we both had an amazing time. As soon as the first person (puppet) stepped on stage the entire audience erupted in applause so we knew we were in on something special. I haven't laughed that much in a stage performance in years. Fantastic!!!

    Sesame Street for Adults

by customersright on 2011-02-06The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

We saw the play in Vancouver. It is a fun hilarious romp but not something for the kids just the kids at heart. There were some sound issues at the beginning of the play we went to, but they figured it out quick enough and we were able to fully enjoy the show! If you get a chance to see this musical, do it!

    Avenue Q was remarkable

by murrayjs48 on 2011-02-06The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

We did not know what to expect so went in with an open mind. The entire ensemble was terrific, music was excellent and the vocals superb. Felt like I was in my livingroom watching a personal performance. All the characters were fantastic. We laughed and almost cried at times and wanted to sing along at others because the tunes were that catchy. I would highly recommend this performance and would return to see it again.

Avenue Q is for 'x' Quisite

by benjie on 2011-02-06The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

Very good musical with lots of laughter. It is the muppets with 'R' rated vocabulary. It could be cleaned up with little effort so that persons under 18could attend the musical.
