About
English rock band Band of Skulls, formed in Southampton in 2004. The original lineup consisted of Russell Marsden (guitar, vocals), Emma Richardson (bass, vocals), and Matt Hayward (drums). Initially performing under the name Fleeing New York, the trio eventually rebranded as Band of Skulls in 2008, marking the beginning of their rise on the indie rock scene. Band of Skulls released their debut album, "Baby Darling Doll Face Honey," an incredible fifteen years ago in 2009. The album was a blend of blues rock, garage rock, and indie influences, featuring standout tracks like "I Know What I Am" and "Death by Diamonds and Pearls." The gritty guitar riffs, dual vocal harmonies, and raw energy of the album earned the band critical acclaim and a growing fanbase. Their music was featured in TV shows, movies, and video games, further amplifying their presence and significantly broadening their fan base.

2nd time better than the first
by SlappyBag on 2010-04-26Venue - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5This was my second Band of Skulls concert and I was pleasantly surprised when they rocked out even harder than thier first show. Both times were at Venue, in Vancouver, and both times blew me away. Although there was only one new song at the second concert, they did a great job of delivering thier existing material with a fresh twist. Overall great band, great live act, and as I learned at the Morrissey after the show, great bunch of lads to have a beer with.
Great band, can't wait for more music by BOS!

Band of Skulls & opening band Saint Motel Amazing!
by LouBeeLou on 2010-04-26Venue - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5Saint Motel opened and got the crowd really warmed up for Band of Skulls who sounded just like they do on CD. The show was awesome and everyone in the audience had a great time. I wasn't really familar with Saint Motel before but I will be looking for their music now!

Very original, creative and amazing, their voices are different and the drumming is perfect! They put on a very, very good live show, and they sound IDENTICAL to their recording. Highly recommend checking them out!
Fantastic Band
by uncleernie on 2010-04-25Venue - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5Well this was the first time to the Venue and I arrived early about 7 and the place was very quiet which was nice to get a little time to check the place out. Saint Hotel came on first and was quite good and the played for a good 30-40 minutes. The second band came on and I never heard their name anywhere in the set so I still dont know who they were. I was not too impressed with this unknown band, as every song sounded alike and too much ws going on. Finally the stage was cleared and the set-up for the B.O.S was up and ready to go. They hit the stage around 9pm and started the show and there was no looking back. They finished the show with a encore of Honest which was fantastic.I found as a band they were very tight and well rehearsed. My only wish is if there was a little more crowd interaction, sometimes it felt like I was at the rehearsal hall with the band.
Absolutely Amazing!
by Rachaelr44 on 2009-11-16El Mocambo - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5Went to the show on Friday night and wasn't really sure what to expect. The opening band 'birthday boys' came on and they were absolutely incredible, great opener. They definitely rocked the house. Then Band of Skulls came on and I believe I can say I it was one of the most enjoyable shows I have seen in a really long time. They were absolutely amazing, entertaining ... now I know why there is a hype about them. Really good, incredible singers, musicians and artists in general. I would recommend and go back the next time they are in Toronto for sure!!!!
