    Sublime to ridiculously good

by Pagefan on 2024-12-05Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

Apart from the KGB level security at Granville St by Guardtek's inadequately staffed team (why did they wand people at this venue - most of us are over 60), it was a brilliant concert. We were late getting in due to Guardtek, (30 minutes to from when we got in line) so missed all of the first song (Neurotica) and some of the second piece. Stellar playing by all, and very restrained Steve Vai was particularly good on the Fripp guitar lines. The Second set was even stronger than the first with an exceptional Sheltering Sky and a sublime rendering of Frame by Frame. Closing the show with a ridiculously intense rendition of Red and then Thela Hun Ginjeet made for a most excellent evening. Good sound overall and a 2hr show made it very enjoyable. Definitely a top 5 among the 24 concerts I attended this year.

    BEAT..a must see show!

by Miguel Lanata on 2024-12-01Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

Thank you BEAT for bringing back the music of King Crimson. Without a doubt, one of the best shows I have ever seen. The endless talent of Adrian Belew and Tony Levin, complemented by the great Steve Vai and Danny Carey. A monumental tribute to the musical legacy of King Crimson and its founder Robert Fripp.

    Best of the Best

by Michael Clarke on 2024-11-30Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

I went iinto the convert with high expectations, given the names in the band, and was blown away. King Crimson music, that I had originally found to be highly creative but, um dry, came alive under the masters' touch. That music was truly great, perhaps some of the best ever, when you put a mountain of thump and wailing guitrar that tears holes in spacetime, behind it. Wow. Just wow.

    R&C

    by R&C on 2024-11-28Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

The show was not note for note perfect but the show could not have been better, and the musicians worked well off of each other, and it looked like they were having fun.

by Pauleywood on 2024-11-28Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

Went with my brother, who is a huge Vai fan, and the band did not dissapoint. Easily, the best assemblage of musical talebt I have seen onstage at once. Great show. I hope there is a live album/film of thus tour that comes out.

    Nothing Left to See

by Fat Johnny on 2024-11-28Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

So what else is there? After watching BEAT, I have completed my life journey on earth. After picking up my jaw from the floor, I felt like I needed to go to the hospital and get my brain evacuated. Too much to process. I was exhausted by the end, a quivering mass of jello. Did I even breath? Still now the feelings linger. Vai and Carey were masterful replacements for Fripp and Mastelotto. Belew and Levin awesome, mesmerizing. Nobody compares or even comes close to BEAT. Masterpiece. Nothing more can be said.

    One to Remember

by Yakpi on 2024-11-28Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

In a lineup filled with world-class professionals, the music was as faithful to the source as possible while injecting individual flair. It took a couple songs for the sound to get dialed in, but after that it was magic!
