BIG WRECK IN CONCERT:

Beloved hard rockers Big Wreck have been bringing the ruckus since 1994, with no signs of slowing down. The band possesses a dynamic sound that can shift from hard rock to anthemic post-grunge all while still staying true to their unique style. At their live shows the band tears through popular tunes like "The Oaf (My Luck Is Wasted)" and the No. 1 smash hit "Albatross" alongside material from 2014's Ghosts with reckless abandon. With 20 years of touring experience under their belt, Big Wreck knows how to get ticket buyers headbanging at their rocking live sets.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Boston-based rock outfit Big Wreck formed in 1994 after the members met at the Berklee College of Music. They started to jam together and perform local shows near campus, eventually attracting attention from execs at Atlantic Records. They signed with the label and released their 1997 debut In Loving Memory Of..., which featured three Top 10 hits on the Canadian Alternative chart and a Top 10 on the US Mainstream Rock chart. Their widespread popularity throughout the Great White North -- where lead singer Ian Thornley grew up -- spawned several headlining tours in support of their breakout album. They followed up with 2001's The Pleasure and the Greed -- a popular album that featured three radio-friendly hits and continued to earn the band major acclaim. Since then they've released two more Top 10 albums including 2014's Ghosts and have proven themselves as mainstays within the rock genre. Fans can experience Big Wreck’s hit-filled catalog on full display whenever they take the stage on their high-octane tours.

    Big Wreck tour in Hamilton

by Big Wreck fan on 2023-11-12FirstOntario Concert Hall - Hamilton

4th Big Wreck concert we have seen at Hamilton Place this was the worst one disappointed with sound system - not sure why it was so bad 1st balcony and it was too loud and distorted could not make out vocals or even when Ian was talking it was mostly garbled always nice to see them in concert just disappointed with whoever was running the sound system

Big Wreck was on stage for just over an hour and a half. Great show. Love them live.

High beamed for 2 hours. Is blinding the fans normal?

by Gf on 2023-11-12FirstOntario Concert Hall - Hamilton

The led light center stage pointed up into first level balcony made it hard to watch the show. Would have been far more enjoyable without that in our eyes. Doesn’t anyone check for this ? Is the intentional to make it hard for cameras to take good images? What is the purpose of this?

    Amazing show!

    by Leeza on 2023-11-11

saw Big Wreck on Thursday November 9th in Hamilton, Ontario at the First Ontario Concert hall. It rocked!!! The sound was fantastic, they really preformed a quality rock show. The only thing missing was a mosh pit area as it is all seated. I think this show made me like them even more. Can’t wait to see them again

    Bad experience

    by B. B. on 2022-03-29Abbotsford Centre - Abbotsford

Must be the acoustics because no band could be that bad. Broken Love was a broken mess of noise. Monster truck spent the night drowning themselves out. Big wreck was a wreck. We are going to this venue tomorrow to see Santana. If it’s the acoustics then last show we will see there. Stop promoting this venue until they fix it. Word gets around fast.

    Great bands, but...

by Catherine S on 2022-03-29Abbotsford Centre - Abbotsford

All the bands were excellent but, for the most part, the vocals were buried. We had a good view of the sound and lighting boards and they didn't seem bothered but, when you go to see Big Wreck, you want to hear Ian Thornley's epic voice. It was disappointing.

    by J on 2022-03-29Abbotsford Centre - Abbotsford

I thought there were amazing. Love their music. Wished I could make out what the words when they sung to the songs I was unfamiliar with. The music overpowered the vocals at times. I would still go to see them again.

    Overall Good

by Brian A on 2022-03-29Abbotsford Centre - Abbotsford

I've attended hundreds of concerts. Big Wreck have all the talent in the world, but the sound guy is another story. The sound was a mess. Unless you knew the lyrics you weren't picking up a word. Drums/guitar/bass all a muddy mess. Couldn't distinguish a ride from a high-hat. Vocals hidden in all of this. The secret is NOT to turn it up to 11 and hope nobody cares. Second time I've seen Big Wreck and a constant problem. Too much talent to be hidden this way.

    not happy

by Daniel on 2022-03-29Abbotsford Centre - Abbotsford

Hi, Myself and many other families thought this was a monster truck show, not a rock concert. There was many families and children that were let down and not pleased with how this event was posted on the internet. For a lot of us that don't know much about rock bands - The Big Wreck Monster Truck show does not sound like a rock concert at all, it sounds like a Monster truck venue. If you are going to advertise the show the way you did, the promoter should make it clear that it wasn't a Monster truck show. I would like my money back for pour advertising and if I can't get my money back I would like tickets for another event. Please provide me with more info how I can proceed with my request. Thanks,

by Kay on 2021-12-11London Music Hall - London

Got nice seats at the top but once everyone started coming in it got very crowded. No personal space and practically nobody were wearing masks. The show was great however, the sound seemed a bit off. You couldn't hear the singing very well. Aside from those things, we had a great time!

Big Wreck Killed It- But Way to Long a show

by Mike the verity man on 2021-12-07History - Toronto

To Start off - Big Wreck killed it- sounded great, I think they were a tad over-powering for History's smaller setup, I had seen them at Hamilton Place and they suited that bigger venue much better We lined up on time at 6:30pm to get a good spot, but paid the price with our feet. The show totaled 5 hours from the time we arrived till the time Big Wreck left the stage- and standing for 5 hours is far to much. BRKN Love kicked it off well, and sounded good, one opening act is to be expected. But 2 opening acts for an establish band like Big Wreck honestly seems ridiculous - I don't know if they thought it would be value for money or whatever, but it made for a long drawn out process that I honestly felt tired and a bit disinterested when Big Wreck took the stage. Monster Truck, I am sorry - I didn't pay to see you guys with songs that went on 2 minutes past when they should have ended, with your blend of amped up party rock where each song sounded like the that came before it. I came for Big Wreck and by the time they arrived at 9:45pm, it had been far to long a wait. Get rid of the long opening and the show is a 4 1/2 stars - History was a bit to small of a venue for them.

Loved the venue, loved the music!!

by Jen Weaver on 2021-12-07History - Toronto

I loved the vibe of the venue, and how the covid safety measures were followed to the tee. What was problematic was the disabled seating. I was a walker user and putting disabled folk in a section right in front of stairs was tough. People kept wanting to push through and it was scary. I was grateful, however, for the security team members who stood behind me for most of the show and helped me feel safe. A great time overall and we are back in Feb for another show. P.s please do, however, make sure that staff know where accommodated seating is for each show. I had to ask upwards of 8 staff before finding my spot.

    Excellent band terrible venue

by Trent on 2021-12-07History - Toronto

I saw big wreck at the history in Toronto and I love the band. I have seen them before but never at this venue. The audio at this venue was very crackly and gross, but big wreck was good as always. 100 percent recomend seeing them just not at the history in Toronto.
