Cosby was cool

This *is* Bill Cosby (I think). Mr. Cosby talks about family. His wife. His kids. His grand-kids. While this is not new in his routines there is definately a change in perspective - he now has the "long-view". He talks about growing old - something everyone will relate to - eventually. The humor in his narratives takes some time to build - punctuated here and there with asides that falsely deviate from the story at hand - but we do get to the end of each thread and the ultimate absurdity or unexpected happening that lets the audience release a sometimes pent-up need to laugh. Bill did end the appearance with a routine from his classic standup days - the trip to the dentist - which I'm not sure how many times I've heard - but like always I nearly wet my pants listening to it - similar to when Bob Newhart does the Sir Walter Raleigh discovering tobacco in the New World and "phoning home " to England to report - timeless bits that never fail to crack ribs. It was my first time seeing Mr. Cosby in the flesh and I was glad to simply be there. I was fully entertained and very happy to have made the trip.
