it was great, the seats were awesome, could see everything, the sound was perfect, not too loud not too quiet..the electronics worked perfectly...I'd give the overall performance a 10...the only down side( and it was minimal) was getting out of the parkade afterward..people were very discourteous...but that did not dampen our enthusiasm for the show itself..will definitely want to attend more events at the Jubilee
This was a fun night out. Bill had lots of fantastic local references in his jokes and his general commentary. He knew what was going on in our city. The question and answer could have had better moderators who chose better questions, but it was entertaining as well.
The venue was great, but the presentation was very practiced and a simple message. While I did learn something new, it had none of the nostalgia I hoped to see from his show. Effort made in tailoring jokes to the local area, but very cut and paste and spoken without variety. Won't be seeing it again, disappointed.
Everything about this evening was just the best! From meeting Bill to his incredible presentation to the Q&A, it was simply amazing! A must see!!!!
Bill Nye is funny, warm and engaging. I could have listened to him for hours. He brings up important issues that we need to pay attention to and also the possible solutions to these problems. A very uplifting night, so glad I went.
Bill Nye has been a childhood hero of science for the both of us. His talk in Calgary only multiplied our love for him, science, and the work he does to ignite passion in others to explore science. His talk was engaging, funny, and inspiring!!
I learned a ton while never feeling I was being preached at. He did a great job inspiring the next generation. His comedic side made it so much fun.
Not only was his talk science based, he had some jokes as well. He gave a few personal stories for us to hear and interesting insight throughout the talk. I was disappointed in the question portion though, mainly due to the fact that the Mayor chose mostly what I deemed irrelevant/wasteful questions; such as "can we hold Antarctica together with cables?". Like, I get it's a funny question but it wasted more time than the laugh was worth. We got through very few questions also due to the fact that Bill digresses, but his answers were always informative and entertaining nevertheless. Also, who knew parking at the Jubilee was only $6?!
Really great speaker. Entertaining to watch. The nostalgia of my childhood would have liked to have seen just even one small experiment though.
Bill presented and answered questions with wit and panache for nearly two hours straight. He has a vast breath of knowledge and, just like on tv, distills it into a succinct answer on the spot.
Guess I was expecting more...90% of the information provided is common knowledge. I was not blown away. Also, was I the only one that thought it was odd that he slammed the oil sands but didn’t give any other examples of pollution culprits? Maybe some from US?
