Black Sabbath - Amazing and Excellent

by Secure on 2016-03-16Calgary Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

Black Sabbath: The End at Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta on Fri Mar 4, 2016 7:30 PM MST. I waited for 50 years to see Black Sabbath. They did not disappoint me. I couldn't see them when I was a teen. I really liked the close ups of the band behind the stage on the big screen. I was surprised at how nimble, active and entertaining Ozzy was. His voice was as good as I imagined. Tony Iommi played those unforgettable riffs so clear and clean. Geezer Butlers fingers playing those bass riffs on the frets were remarkable. The new drummer was amazing. The visuals and songs took me back to when I was fifteen. Even for just a couple of hours it was good. My ears were ringing for several days after. "Rocket engines burning fuel so fast. Up into the night sky they blast. Through the universe the engines whine Could it be the end of man and time? Back on earth the flame of life burns low, Everywhere is misery and woe. Pollution kills the air, the land and sea Man prepares to meet his destiny, yeah"

Rock & Roll will never die

by superfANN on 2016-03-06FirstOntario Centre - Hamilton

Great being so close to both bands. Glad I could take photos. Both bands fully engaged the crowd which make the experience more fun!!! Black Sabbath at the end of their journey; Rival Sons at the beginning of theirs. Best new band out there.

    Black Sabbath Outstanding

    by Frederixx2 on 2016-02-28FirstOntario Centre - Hamilton

I had a meet and great ticket and had paid a lot to meet the band. Although I was nervous and became a bit tongue tied when in front of the band, I did manage to tell Ozzy how I was a huge fan and adored him. For some unknown reason Ozzy had a fit of laughter, that had made me feel uncomfortable with it, as I had no idea what he found so funny or if it was me. My only other complaint was they let alot more people meet the band, so no one was allowed to ask for autographs All that was allowed was a picture and I was quickly done afterwards. I couldn't of talked or wished all 3 of them, the very best or comment how great it was to meet them even. It would of been nicer for the money to have a minute to at least speak quickly to each one of them aurghhh. A lady working there handed me my coat etc before I could say hi to Geezer. When I turned to look at him, Geezer had his lower lip out before I had the chance to say a word. I must admit i giggled at Geesor at the time, but It was that rushed to move on to the next person, a bit much for paying $1500 The concert itself was amazing, the sound was spot on, the quitar playing by Geesor and Tony was also outstanding and left everyone in awe. Ozzy was sick with Sinusitis and he stated he felt sicker then a dog. Despite feeling that way, he kept a strong voice and kept the crowd cheering, he was excellent and gave a solid performance The show was excellent with fire, dry ice, and confetti paper with Black Sabbath on it, and sadly the screen said "The End" when it was over. I will miss Black Sabbath, they are awesome caring musicians and true legends. God bless them, and thanks for an amazing fun night.

    Awesome!!!!

    by Lemmy905 on 2016-02-28FirstOntario Centre - Hamilton

What can I say. If this is to be Sabbath's final kick at the can they are going out on top. Holy crap! They blew the roof off the First Ontario Centre. Ozzy owed the stage as he prowled from stage left to stage right encouraging fans to "Clap your F'- bomb hands". Tony Iommi is the king of Heavy Riffs. Burning up his fret board with one classic after another. Geezer Butler holding down the bottom end with his bass shaking the foundation. Rounding out the rhythm section was Ozzy' drummer ( and a young Bill Ward look alike) Tommy Cluetos. There are the fans who are going to say it just isn't Sabbath without Original drummer Bill Ward but let's face it. After watching Clutetos in action there is no way a 67 yr old Ward could possibly come close to pounding the skins night after night the way Clutetos did without being hauled out on a stretcher. After having heart problems in the past few years come on. We love Bill but let's not kill the guy. On a whole, I freakin' loved the show. Been a Sabbath most of my life. I'm 55 yrs old now and was turned on to them when I was 10. Just after the first album was released. What ya going to do...

    Black Sabbath sounded great!

by Underdog on 2016-02-25FirstOntario Centre - Hamilton

Good performance. Some movement from the guys while on stag. Amazing guitar work. They seem to cut the show short. There are bands as old as these guys that deliver more energy and longer performances to their fans. In this case it doesn't matter as Sabbath is hanging it up. Too bad they couldn't have given their fans a little more of their time before they exited.

    SABBATH SABBATH SABBATH!

by simcoe on 2016-02-25FirstOntario Centre - Hamilton

It was great to be part of a historic event as the final tour for Black Sabbath. All the classic songs from the band rather than newer material. The only drawback was the size of the seats on the floor which were linked together and unable move. But a great event for a late birthday gift.

Ozzy never disappoints! The rest of Sabbath never disappoint! This was my 20th time seeing either just Ozzy or Sabbath with Ozzy. The world is a better place with the music of Ozzy and Sabbath!

by MikeyLo on 2016-02-24FirstOntario Centre - Hamilton

Great show. They sounded amazing. Backgrounds really added to the show. A little disappointed that they didn't play anything off of 13. Great to get a chance to watch legends play!

The band is a beast on stage. They perform incredibly great! The only issue was the seating location.

    by ShaunM319 on 2016-02-24FirstOntario Centre - Hamilton

Black Sabbath - Even with Ozzy feeling a little sick it was still a great show with them playing there early material at it's finest and getting/keeping the crowd going throughout there whole set Rival Sons - I had only heard a few of there songs before the show but they sounded great and did a good job warming everyone up for the main event. now to wait until August to see them again in Toronto

    Sabbath rules!

by shredR on 2016-02-24FirstOntario Centre - Hamilton

Sabbath was amazing as always, but Ozzy's vocals were off! Check out the instruments' pitch vs his voice. In that respect, last concert was better (13). Will be seeing them in TO at the end of the summer - still one of the heaviest bands.Tony Iommi is truly the "godfather of HM"!

Black Sabbath - Wishing it wasn't The End!!

by SpiceyGirl on 2016-02-24FirstOntario Centre - Hamilton

Thoroughly enjoyed the entire show! Ozzy was doing his best to keep the crowd engaged and rockin'. He truly is a silly, old English man and made us smile/laugh. So glad we booked our tickets for this, we have loved Sabbath for so long but have never seen them live. A memory to cherish for sure!

    Amazing Show

by LLLulu on 2016-02-24FirstOntario Centre - Hamilton

Awesome show and audience made it unforgettable. Loud and proud. Ozzy has been ill but he toughed it out and was great. Love Tony and Geezer and the drum solo was exceptional. We did the soundcheck VIP. We love Sabbath so it was worth doing the VIP.

    overall good concert

    by DigitalMan161 on 2016-02-24FirstOntario Centre - Hamilton

Ozzy needs to pack it in. Last two times I've seen him his singing has been almost unbearable. However the rest of the group rocked out a solid set. Tried to get a beer but the lines were insane!!! Which of course meant countless people interrupting your view of the concert while they rush to their seats. This went in for a while.

    Sabbath are IRONMEN

by Topfueler on 2016-02-24FirstOntario Centre - Hamilton

Hard to believe that it might be the end of the road for Sabbath, but they are going out on a high note, one last great hurrah, and that's what they gave all 14,000 of us Sunday night in their Hamilton, Ontario stop.
