About

BOBBY VINTON IN CONCERT:

Legendary pop crooner Bobby Vinton skyrocketed to success in the early ‘60s with a string of wistful hits that established him as “The Polish Prince,” a nod to his Polish-American heritage. More than half a century later Vinton’s voice has the same romantic power that helped carry him to the top, especially on hits like “Mr. Lonely” and "There, I've Said It Again." Taking the stage with a nine-piece orchestra conducted by his son and dueting with his talented daughters, Vinton will treat fans to “Blue Velvet” and all the rest of his greatest hits on a highly anticipated string of 2014 tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born in Pennsylvania in 1935, Vinton inherited an interest in music from his bandleader father, and his parents encouraged his musical development by tying his daily allowance to the completion of clarinet practice. Forming his first band at age 15, he earned enough money playing shows to put himself through school at Duquesne University, where he earned a degree in music composition. After several unsuccessful early releases, Vinton took matters into his own hands for the promotion and distribution of 1962’s “Roses Are Red (My Love),” with fantastic results – the song peaked at No. 1 on the pop charts, remaining there for four weeks.  A string of chart-topping classics would follow, including “Mr. Lonely” and his best-known recording “Blue Velvet.” The years have treated Vinton’s dreamy voice in a manner befitting a prince, and fans at his upcoming shows can expect a truly stellar walk down memory lane.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

“Bobby's voice is just as good as ever and the playlist included all his big hits. He came down into the audience and interacted allowing photographs, kisses, hugs, whatever anyone wanted…”

“Music with a melody, a classy orchestra, and I was amazed at his instrumental abilities. That was a pleasant surprise. Wonderful that his family was a part of the show.”

“He looks the same as he did 50 years ago, is in great shape, has the strongest voice ever, sang all his big ones and covered many others! His son leads the 9 piece orchestra that backs him and his 2 daughters sing. And…he plays the trumpet, sax and clarinet like nobody's business!”

This guy puts everything he has into it. I have seen him twice at Rama and would go back again. His daughter adds to the show, she does NOT take away from it. Look forward to seeing him again !!

The show was high energy and extrememly entertaining. It is unvelievable how much stamina Bobby Vinton has. He worked really hard and his daughter did ony two solos to give him a break. His daughter has a beautiful voice and the Phantom duet they did was excellent. Bobby at age 68 can still hit all the highs and lows and his instrumentals (trumpet, saxaphone, clarinet) were superb.

Bobby still has some pipes but I really felt it's time for him to retire, while he still has some good followers.

    Great show!

by Baggy on 2010-10-04The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - Windsor

I have always loved Bobby Vinton since he came on to the music scene many years ago, so I was very happy that he came back to The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor. It was a wonderful show - he sang all his old hits and then some, and brought his daughter and son with him as well (his daughter in particular has an amazing voice). Bobby thrilled the audience by strolling through the Colosseum, singing, joking, laughing, and getting people who were celebrating an anniversary to stand up and dance. He is an accomplished musician also, playing a number of instruments. I have to say, though, that my favourite part was when he did the Phantom of the Opera segment (I have always loved that show). I am glad I was able to get there, because now I know for sure that I will go back next time he comes.

    Bobby Vinton

I have seen his show at least three times in the last few years. This one was even better that his previous ones (the other ones were also excellent!). It is hard to believe that he is approx. 72 years old. He is in excellent physical condition and certainly knows how to put on a very entertaining show. The 5000 seat theatre was sold out!.

    Bobby Vinton was totally unforgettable..

by pouty on 2010-09-26The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - Windsor

We have been to many concerts at Caesars Windsor and they were all great, but i'm a back in the sixties girl and always loved Bobby vinton as a teen idol to me back then and still is to this day.We were 9 rows back in f4 and seats 3 and 4 but just missed the hand shake and the hug i have been waiting for, for years. His performance and songs were sang as well today as when we first heard them many years ago.His two children that were with him, must have got his genes and they sang so great, just like their dad.i'm 59,and i know we shouldn't tell our age, but i sang every song that he sang that friday night at caesars and he interacted with the crowd so well and I would go and see him over and over again...as he was and still is 'my Teen idol', only wish I could have looked him right in the eye and shake his hand and/or a big Hug..Job well done...hope to see you again...Hugs

    Bobby Vinton was Great!

by SloPowers on 2010-09-26The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - Windsor

The show was great! I can't believe Bobby Vinton is 75 years old! He performed for an hour and a half straight and didn't wain in energy or enthusiasm. I saw him for the first time at the 'old' Elmwood Casino back in the '60's and he hasn't changed much at all. Enjoyed the music with his daughter and son as well... it must be very cool for them to be able to tour and perform with their father. The only negative, I thought the show should have ended with a Bobby Vinton song... perhaps Blue Velvet rather than the Roy Orbison 'Crying'... not my favourite. But I loved the Las Vegas Hall of Fame number. Overall, great! Bought back lots of good memories.

    FANTASTIC SHOW

by Dundrumgal on 2010-04-22Casino Rama - Orillia, Canada

Bobby's show at Casino Ramo was ALL and MORE than I expected. He was absolutely fantastic. I have been a BIG fan of his since my late teens, had all his albums and even got to "kiss" him at my Grade 12 graduation. My husband wasn't a "fan" but after he saw Bobby's performance at Rama, he became a "big" fan and was amazed at his musical talent and all the instruments he played, and thought his show was amazing. Bring him back to Canada soon!!!!

Bobby Vinton is more than a great singer - he's a real entertainer. I enjoyed his show so much. I was amazed at his instrumental talent and the wonderful voice of his daughter. I have heard his son before and he sounds so much like his father, it's uncanny. I will jump at the chance to see him if he returns to Windsor.

    Energy level was amazing!

by graz on 2009-10-13Casino Rama - Orillia

We enjoyed the performance very much! It was certainly worth a two and half hour drive from St. Catharines and a stay in Orillia! We left the concert singing, dancing and feeling uplifted. Bobby Vinton put on a high energy performance with a variety of songs. He is a very talented performer! Not only can he still sing with his whole heart and soul, his ability to play such a wide array of musical instruments amazed us. He connected with the audience with his willingness to go into the audience area. It was exciting to see him up close. We also enjoyed seeing his daughter and son perform with him. We have already recommended his concert to our friends and family and we would go again to see him.

    Bobby Vinton"s still got it!

by DevotedFan on 2009-10-12The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - Windsor

He was my teenage idol and I was not expecting his voice to have it youthful power, but it's still just as strong. He has his daughter singing and she's up there with Wynona! Their duet of the Phantom songs was amazing. He was still a crowd pleaser and I'd go back for another concert in a heartbeat!

by HardRock on 2009-10-12Casino Rama - Orillia

Took my wife to see Bobby as a present. Knew she would like it, but to my suprise I did enjoy the show. Bobby comes off the stage and greets the audience. Actually works the audience to make sure you are having a good time.
