About

BOBBY VINTON IN CONCERT:

Legendary pop crooner Bobby Vinton skyrocketed to success in the early ‘60s with a string of wistful hits that established him as “The Polish Prince,” a nod to his Polish-American heritage. More than half a century later Vinton’s voice has the same romantic power that helped carry him to the top, especially on hits like “Mr. Lonely” and "There, I've Said It Again." Taking the stage with a nine-piece orchestra conducted by his son and dueting with his talented daughters, Vinton will treat fans to “Blue Velvet” and all the rest of his greatest hits on a highly anticipated string of 2014 tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born in Pennsylvania in 1935, Vinton inherited an interest in music from his bandleader father, and his parents encouraged his musical development by tying his daily allowance to the completion of clarinet practice. Forming his first band at age 15, he earned enough money playing shows to put himself through school at Duquesne University, where he earned a degree in music composition. After several unsuccessful early releases, Vinton took matters into his own hands for the promotion and distribution of 1962’s “Roses Are Red (My Love),” with fantastic results – the song peaked at No. 1 on the pop charts, remaining there for four weeks.  A string of chart-topping classics would follow, including “Mr. Lonely” and his best-known recording “Blue Velvet.” The years have treated Vinton’s dreamy voice in a manner befitting a prince, and fans at his upcoming shows can expect a truly stellar walk down memory lane.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

“Bobby's voice is just as good as ever and the playlist included all his big hits. He came down into the audience and interacted allowing photographs, kisses, hugs, whatever anyone wanted…”

“Music with a melody, a classy orchestra, and I was amazed at his instrumental abilities. That was a pleasant surprise. Wonderful that his family was a part of the show.”

“He looks the same as he did 50 years ago, is in great shape, has the strongest voice ever, sang all his big ones and covered many others! His son leads the 9 piece orchestra that backs him and his 2 daughters sing. And…he plays the trumpet, sax and clarinet like nobody's business!”

by JudyP on 2014-08-10The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - Windsor

Bobby Vinton is 79 years old and is still as good as the first time I saw him about 35 years ago. His children that perform in the show with him are very talented too! I would highly recommend this show to anyone who still remembers him.

    Forget His Age: He's Great

by Scatterarm on 2014-08-10The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - Windsor

After seeing dozens of "Name" entertainer's, the entertainers that have big personalities always results in the best show. Bobby Vinton has a great personality and has the audience rocking from his first song. He belies his age with the energy of a thirty year old. His backup band in Windsor was probably the best backup band we have heard. The sound was rich and just right for his volume. Bobby's daughter is his backup singer and she puts the Idol singers to shame. Bobby's son is his bandleader and sings a song or two. In addition to his numerous hits, Bobby and his daughter sang the hit song from Phantom of the Opera. What a surprisingly great rendition of the song accompanied by the excellent 8 or 9 piece orchestra which includes wind instruments. Bobby also played the saxophone, clarinet, trumpet and piano, all very professionally. If you are a fan of the 50's and 60's music, Bobby Vinton is the entertainer to see.

Bobby Vinton and Daughter Hannah were fabulous

by Anonymous on 2011-08-08Casino Rama - Orillia

The show was one of the best I've seen in a long time. We saw him a couple of years ago as well and found him very entertaining. This year was absolutely phenomenal. He surprised us all with his versatility. Who knew he played so many instruments. Who knew he had such a wide range of music gendre's that he sings with such ease. Loved to hear all about the various people and places he encountered during his career and where he was when certain songs played were #1. He seemed to get better as the evening went on. Sorry to see the end of the show. Not only was he fantastic but the voice his daughter has is incredible. Talent runs in the family. The Phantom of the Opera piece they did together blew me away. I thought she was even better than the original singer. Again I can't say enough good things about the show. I would recommend it to anyone. Loved it.........
