Bodies, The Exhibition
by Janbee on 2010-12-09MTS Centre Exhibit Hall - WinnipegRating: 5 out of 5There were four of us who experienced this event and all came away with pretty much the same opinion. We thought it was well organized, the layout of the exhibits made it easy to move from one to another; the subdued lighting showcased each encased exhibit well and made for easy reading and viewing.
The upright human exhibits allowed close inspection of the skeleton with the various body parts in their actual locations. The information charts by the body exhibits explained each in detail. The audio (rented for $5 ea.) augmented the chart information and provided additional interesting facts.
We were fascinated and intrigued with the human body in its different forms and marveled at the complexity of the human body. The opportunity to handle three human body parts (heart, brain, scapula) and a baboon brain was particularly fascinating. The attendant described the workings of the parts and knowledgeably answered our questions. We were surprised to see the difference in size of the baboon brain in comparison to the human brain.
All in all, we would definitely recommend this to anyone. As we did, we're sure that each person will walk away with a renewed sense of awe at the human body and a little more familiar with its many complex functions. Well worth the money.
