About
Bodysnatcher on Tour
South Florida-based deathcore band Bodysnatcher was formed in 2014, and comprises founding guitarist/lyricist/producer Kyle Carter, vocalist Kyle Medina, guitarist Kyle Shope, and drummer Chris Whited.
They released their debut album Death of Me in 2017, followed by This Heavy Void (2020) and Bleed-Abide (2022). Bleed-Abide showcases a more mature side of the band, with lyrics influenced by challenging personal life experiences and the global pandemic. Bodysnatcher's songwriting process is democratic, as each member contributes to the songwriting process.
Bleed-Abide was released to critical acclaim, with Metal Injection noting, "While Medina knows his way around a tough-guy rant, his lyrics often take a more vulnerable angle. His explorations of mental illness remain potent on "Wired For Destruction" ... it succeeds in terms of destructive riff changes and gruff guttural growls, but Bodysnatcher uses this abject savagery as a vehicle for personal therapy."
Bodysnatcher Live in Concert
Melbourne, Florida heavy metal act Bodysnatcher have made a name for themselves in the hardcore and deathcore scenes, proudly flying the flag of the genre. "Deathcore kicks ass," vocalist Kyle Medina told Brooklyn Vegan in 2022. "A lot of bands shy away from labels they don't deem 'cool' enough. But we don't give a f--k. We like what we like, and we play what we play. We all love hardcore and metal, so we're going to play hardcore, play metal, and play breakdowns. That's how the band is going to be, forever."
Now signed to indie label MNRK Music, the band released their third full-length album Bleed-Abide in 2022, as the follow-up to 2020's This Heavy Void. Known for introspective lyrics that tackle relatable, real-life experiences, including the loss of loved ones and fear of death, Bodysnatcher is influenced by early-2000s metalcore and deathcore outfits such as As I Lay Dying.
The chaotic Bleed-Abide single "E.D.A." starts out in mathcore territory and evolves into pure deathcore, showcasing the band's strengths within the genre. Touring the world with the likes of Dying Fetus and Ingested, Bodysnatcher have honed their stage chops, and are becoming known for their aggressive, head-banging live shows.
