About

Active for nearly 40 years, Boston’s combination of hard progressive rock, phenomenal guitar work, and soaring vocals is still as riveting and relevant as ever.  In 2013, the acclaimed rockers dropped their sixth studio album – and first since the death of lead singer Brad Delp in 2007  – Life, Love & Hope. Delp sings on a handful of the tracks, while several other vocalists fill out the rest of the album. 2012 saw the band touring for ticket holders across the country, performing fan-favorite songs from their hit-filled back catalogue.

Boston’s self-titled debut album came out in 1976, catapulting the band to stardom with the smash singles “Long Time,” “More Than a Feeling,” and “Peace of Mind,” remaining on the Billboard charts for an astonishing 132 weeks and becoming the best-selling debut album in US history. After opening concerts for Black Sabbath, Blue Öyster Cult, and Foghat, Boston charted its own headlining tour and became the first band to play Madison Square Garden in their New York City debut. Their second album Don’t Look Back came out in 1978 and sold over seven million copies, with its title track reaching No. 4 on the charts. Boston’s third album Third Stage came out in 1986, expanding their sound with electronic drum samples, and remained the No. 1 album for four weeks on the strength of top 20 singles “Amanda,” “Can’tcha Say” and “We’re Ready.” 1994’s platinum-selling Walk On followed, as well as 2002’s Corporate America.

    Boston and Joan Jett rocked

by Jerryc on 2017-09-06Budweiser Stage - Toronto

Joan Jett put on a great show, lots of energy. worth seeing on her own. Boston was truly amazing. This was the second time I've seen Boston. For most bands I won't even bother going if I'm further away than 10th row floor or section adjacent to the stage. Boston is one of a handful of exceptions to this, they're THAT good.

Boston sounds great, the songs are unforgettable

by SeaninBrampton on 2017-08-24Budweiser Stage - Toronto

Yes, Tom Scholz is the only original member, but he does lead the band, makes sure the sound is right, and it is an amazing show. Mr Tommy DiCarlo does a KILLER job on vocals. Nails all the notes, words, and if you are hard core Brad Delp, this guy is an honourable replacement.. Long Time, Foreplay, Cool the Engines.. if you grew up with these songs like I did, it is emotional to see them live. I mean- THAT IS TOM SCHOLZ! Loved it

    pretty good verall

by anyNickname on 2017-08-02Lakeview Amphitheater - Syracuse

Date: 29 July 2017 in Syracuse, NY. Pretty good show overall. But opener Joan Jett was 10 minutes late and didn't even play a full hour. Wanted to see Boston before classic rock acts like this retire. Loved their hits with soaring harmonies but wasn't too interested in the meandering instrumental material. Boston has taken that one huge 1976 hit record and parlayed into a career lasting this long. Good for them. But the rest of their albums aren't that good frankly. I'd say 3.5 stars for the performance. This new Lakeview Amphitheater is windy and somewhat cold even on a sunny day. Bring a sweater and windbreaker. The parking lot was cleared very quickly after the show.

Joan Jett was amazing!!! Boston not so much

    by Bowie4Life on 2017-07-15Budweiser Stage - Toronto

Joan Jett was incredible, her voice and musical ability is still as great as her days in the Runaways. We were disappointed that she was only able to play for an hour. We weren't impressed with Boston and left. I would love to see another Joan Jett set, hopefully she returns to Toronto

Joan Rocked and Boston nailed it

    by Shark17 on 2017-07-14Budweiser Stage - Toronto

Joan sounded awesome and played all the classics we know. Boston sounded great and also played the classics we love. They did though, go into an instrumental session which although good, was way too long and killed the momentum they achieved from play the classics.

    Beautiful evening.

by Brado on 2017-07-14Budweiser Stage - Toronto

Both bands were awesome & the visuals were outstanding. My one complaint involves most concerts these days: some of the people surrounding us found the need to take their phones out every 45 seconds, send a message, take some photos, wave it around, check messages & repeat. This gets very distracting after awhile. Unfortunately, the group of guys in front of us acted like they were reliving their childhood: climbing over the railing, taking endless photos (selfies, group, single, band, etc.), talking, standing up, sitting down, leaving to get more beer.

    Great night

Great venue to relive our teenage years. Boston doesn't disappoint even tho only a couple of older band members left.

    sounds great...boring as hell

by Rychly on 2017-06-20Park Theater at Monte Carlo Resort and Casino - Las Vegas

Save your money and listen to there music at home. Seen them in Las Vegas and they sounded awesome...just like their records did back in the day. On stage they do not move much and the light show was ok at best. I could not believe they had no stage presence at all except for about 2 songs.

    Not enough big hits

by Koshman on 2017-04-18Germain Arena - Estero

The band did their best to put on a good show and for the most part the audience was entertained. My own impression was one of prolonged instrumentals between too few big hits. This band needs to play with one or two others in a concert to make it work. Last time I saw them they played with two other bands. This summer they are touring with Joan Jett.
