About

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are regarded as one of the very best live rock acts of all time. From humble New Jersey beginnings in 1972, they grew in popularity to become one of the true icons of American music. Hits such as “Born In The USA” and “Dancing In The Dark” cemented Bruce Springsteen as one of America's top popular rock vocalists. He's known for being one of the hardest-working acts in the industry, and concerts can regularly last three hours or more and tours often last years rather than months.
Bruce Springsteen began his musical career singing and playing in a number of bands in the New Jersey area in the mid-‘60s. Influenced by the likes of Elvis Presley, the Beatles and Cream, his musical style was both a reflection of his own tastes and of his blue-collar working-class American roots. The mix of old-fashioned rock and roll with a more progressive, often politically minded lyrical style soon began to build a cult following for Springsteen. By 1972 he was signed to a deal with Columbia Records, along with the E Street Band. The band's members changed now and then over the years, but the core members were Danny Federici, Clarence Clemons, Garry Tallent, Roy Bittan and Max Weinberg. Together they released their first album, Greetings From Asbury Park NJ, in 1972.
While they enjoyed tremendous success in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s, they were launched into the megastar category with the release of Born In The USA in 1984. The album stormed the US charts, becoming one of the biggest-selling records of all time with over 30 million albums sold. Bruce Springsteen became an American pop-culture icon and the band enjoyed huge success worldwide with sold-out stadium tours and numerous top 10 singles.
In 1999 Bruce Springsteen was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame and over the years the act has won numerous Grammy and Golden Globe Awards while continuing to rock at sell-out shows the world over. Bruce has always remained true to his roots, often turning down offers from corporate advertisers wanting to use his music for profit. His music has truly captured the American spirit over the years, which is why he has remained a much-loved and consistently popular musician for such a long time. Away from his on-stage commitments he is an activist for equal rights and runs a charity called The Foundation which helps support war veterans and food banks.

    Bruce is "The Boss"

by camsteve on 2009-11-14The Palace of Auburn Hills - Auburn Hills

Total energy combined with superior musicianship. Springsteen is the master of anthem rock. He feeds off the crowd and the crowd feeds off the Boss. Three solid hours of energy and music .

    Wow

by DaveMcL on 2009-11-14The Palace of Auburn Hills - Auburn Hills

Still so good after all these years. You can see that he still loves to entertain though i think this may be the end of the band as we no it. I suspect we will see Bruce in a couple of years going solo or some small back up playing smaller venues. It was so cool the first song I ever heard him play live was Born in the USA. When he played it last night it was like we had come full circle. It was so cool. Oh and for Ohio. no big deal was a lot of fun these guys travel so much it is amazing we don't see it more often.

This is my 25th time seeing Bruce, but to see Born To Run Live was amazing, whata great concept. The show was full of high energy and geat sound. It was funny when Bruce thougth Detroit was in the state of Ohio, he made light of it by stating it took 40 years to ****** that up. Regardless great show an well worth the price of admission I highly recommed this show

Bruce and The E St. Band are ultimate entertainers

by Murf59 on 2009-11-14The Palace of Auburn Hills - Auburn Hills

I have always wanted to see Bruce & the band, only heard great things but experiencing last night was even better than friends had described. Engaging, dynamic, total entertainment and as an audience member you are part of the show not a passive viewer. You feel like these incredibly gifted people are friends, and you know they are having as much fun as we are! The energy was contagious, people let go, enjoyed the moment, laughed, sang and left the Palace feeling a lot better than when they went in. I will be looking to see them again, can't believe I waited so long to do this. Thanks Bruce and E Street, best concert ever!

The BOSS has it all - what a performance!!

by TAngel on 2009-10-14Giants Stadium - East Rutherford

I loved it from beginning to end (although a little sad that it was over). He is spectacular - to give a solid 3 hour performance is unbelievable - I was tired just watching. He got us all up in our seats - clapping, shouting and singing along. The best show ever!! Can't wait to see him again. AMAZING.

The Boss and the E-Street Band put on a great show

by RajahWilko on 2009-10-13Giants Stadium - East Rutherford

My wife and I caught the Boss for the frist time October 8, at Giants Stadium, the second last show before it's torn down. We were in NYC for our tenth anniversary and thought what a perfect time and place to finally see Bruce and the E-Street Band. They didn't disappoint. We lucked out with the night featuring the "Born To Run" album played from beginning to end, which is our favourite Springsteen album. But more impressive was the "family" feel of the event. Very cool to see and experience. We look forward to the next time we see Bruce and the gang. Bravo!

Bruce at home in Jersey and at his Best !

by danyboy741 on 2009-10-13Giants Stadium - East Rutherford

The 4th show (October 8th) was absolutely memorable ! Three hours and ten minutes without stopping is unheard of. It was stunning and so were the fireworks. It was magical to have a few droplets of rain come down as the lights were turning on at the end of the show as if the sky was crying because the show had ended, but the rain stopped immediately.

This is why he's called THE BOSS!

by Chaz66 on 2009-10-12Giants Stadium - East Rutherford

The last concert a.k.a. at the Wrecking Ball, Giants Stadium was in the words of the Boss himself ... "heart-stopping, pants-dropping, house-rocking, earth-shaking, booty-quaking, love-making". We can add "jaw-breaking and throat-screamin" and to top it all off ... we experienced in the Pit ... truly the only way to go now! We've been spoiled!!!!!! 31 songs, over three hours and we craved more! Thanks Boss & the E Street Band ... we'll be smiling until we meet again!

by DawnMac on 2009-10-06Giants Stadium - East Rutherford

All I have to say is... If you are going to see Bruce Springsteen, New Jersey is the place to see him. This is my fourth time and by far the best. I didn't think he could top Dodgers Stadium but I was soooo wrong.

Bruce and The EStreet Band were Amazing

by BarrieBadlands on 2009-10-06Giants Stadium - East Rutherford

There is no better place to see Bruce and the E Street Band than in New Jersey. The most loyal fans who sing all the words to all the songs with passion and conviction. Coming from Barrie, Ontario Canada with my daughter we knew this was going to be extra special and it was. I hope that Bruce and the E Street Band continue to tour and bring their show back to Southern Ontario.

The Boss and E Street are legends.

by Gronk on 2009-10-06Giants Stadium - East Rutherford

From the opening song about Giants Stadium coming down to the last note the energy in the stadium was incredible. Most of the fans stood the whole 3 plus hours. Bruce really got the audience involved, he always does with the singing of verses, but this time by having a couple of fans on stage, he also went out into the crowd, and shook hands with hundreds of people. Bruce had amazing stamina, not bad for 60 years old. I am sure he could have proved it all night given the opportunity. The band did not leave the stage, encores seemed like part of the show. The lighting and the fireworks were the topping on the cake, but the musuc is always the reason for seeing The Boss live. Powerful and inspirational. The man is an icon. Thanks for the great memories.

    Still proving it all night

by JKen on 2009-10-05Giants Stadium - East Rutherford

I drove down from Canada for this concert. NJ is my favorite crowd for a concert and I always and come and see Bruce. Often people complain about minor details but this show was the best I have seen. Having fun with 50000 others as we saw Bruce deliver his energy to the crowd was unforgettable. Worth the drive. Worth the cost. He's still proving it all night, everynight. Oh, and to those few who sat stlii and didn't even clap or move please go to imax next time so someone else can enjoy your hard to get ticket.

by Chefdf on 2009-10-05Giants Stadium - East Rutherford

For an agiing Rock Star, Bruce who just turned 60 continues to deliver a 3 hour concert. Wether running throughout the general admission, jumping up into the 1 level. the band was tight and neat to see Darkness at the edge of Town played completely. When Bruce went around to get the sign request and played Jailhouse rock Wow! The whole waiting on a Sunny day was great!!! If you can attend the last few shows as there are Rumours that this is the last tour with the band get out to see the Earth Shaking, Booty Shaking, Viagra Taking, Legendary E STREET BAND!!!!!
