Calgary Roughnecks History
The Calgary Roughnecks are members of the National Lacrosse League (NLL). After debuting in 2002, the Roughnecks qualified for the postseason in 13 consecutive years until 2016. The team has appeared in four NLL Cup championship games, winning three between 2004, 2009 and 2019. The Roughnecks also secured five Division titles before the elimination of conferences ahead of the 2023–2024 season. Over the years, the Calgary Roughnecks’ roster has fielded four Hall of Famers, five Most Valuable Players, three Transition Players of the Year and two Rookies of the Year and Goaltenders of the Year apiece.

Calgary Roughnecks at Scotiabank Saddledome
The Roughnecks and the Riggers fanbase have packed downtown Calgary’s Scotiabank Saddledome since 2001. The Scotiabank Saddledome opened in 1983 and currently seats over 19,000 fans. Across the NLL, the Saddledome has hosted the 2005 All-Star Game and four NLL championship games, with the Roughnecks hoisting the NLL Cup in front of a hometown crowd in 2004, 2009 and 2019.

by lashes2188 on 2009-07-11Pengrowth Saddledome - Calgaryas we had only been to a couple games, lacrosse is a very new sport for us, and after the last 2 games and the playoff games, WE ARE HOOKED. we even have my nephew going now too, and he is thinking about season season tickets, and he is only 19. that final game was nail biting to the end and we LOVED it, i am usually a quiet fan, but not at these games lol
