Calgary Roughnecks History
The Calgary Roughnecks are members of the National Lacrosse League (NLL). After debuting in 2002, the Roughnecks qualified for the postseason in 13 consecutive years until 2016. The team has appeared in four NLL Cup championship games, winning three between 2004, 2009 and 2019. The Roughnecks also secured five Division titles before the elimination of conferences ahead of the 2023–2024 season. Over the years, the Calgary Roughnecks’ roster has fielded four Hall of Famers, five Most Valuable Players, three Transition Players of the Year and two Rookies of the Year and Goaltenders of the Year apiece.

Calgary Roughnecks at Scotiabank Saddledome
The Roughnecks and the Riggers fanbase have packed downtown Calgary’s Scotiabank Saddledome since 2001. The Scotiabank Saddledome opened in 1983 and currently seats over 19,000 fans. Across the NLL, the Saddledome has hosted the 2005 All-Star Game and four NLL championship games, with the Roughnecks hoisting the NLL Cup in front of a hometown crowd in 2004, 2009 and 2019.
