I thought that the Ballet Moulin Rouge was spectacular- a mixture fo costume, colour, music and movement that added up to an enjoyable evening out. The Thursday night cast was wonderful I was both moved and entertained.

    RWB

by maggi on 2009-10-23Centennial Concert Hall - Winnipeg

Took my two teenage grandaughters. We thought it lovely. However just a tad too long. We were all yawning at the end. So kill her off and get it over. Not nice, but ....... The Can Can was agreat hit with the audience. One of the girls dances at Shelly Shearers and was so impressed with the dancers.I thought some of the stuff in the first act could have been cut out. But overall it was wonderful

    Culture Clash

by JaniceB on 2009-10-23Centennial Concert Hall - Winnipeg

Although a decent attempt, I think it may be difficult to combine different aspects of the arts and cultures together. A very Canadian version of a risque Paris show.

    Moulin Rouge

by tath on 2009-10-22Centennial Concert Hall - Winnipeg

We certainly enjoyed the performance with the colourful costumes. The sets were really amazing and 'wowed ' us. The corps de ballet was the best I have seen and seemed to enjoy the dance sequences as much as the audience did. Of course, I think everyone present was waiting for the "cancan' which did not disappoint. A good evening.

    Moulin Rouge was unforgettable!!!

by Molly01 on 2009-10-22Centennial Concert Hall - Winnipeg

What a magical evening it was! Everything from the choreography, the set design, the costumes and the music was fantastic. I enjoyed the infusion of the tango with traditonal ballet; the set was a visual delight as were the colours and designs of the dancers' costumes. Vanessa gives a beautifully emotional performance and was a joy to watch. Even with sitting fairly far back from the stage, one could feel the range of emotions the character goes through. This was truly a unique and wonderful ballet; an experience that won't be forgotten. Thank you RWB for putting on such a great event.

Beautiful Ballet. Story was well formed and easy to follow. Romantic and exciting. Custumes were beautiful. Overall the ballet was a passionate and exciting love story and I loved every second of it. I would definitely recommend this ballet to a friend.

    Moulin Rouge Ballet

by aliceinwonderland on 2009-10-22Centennial Concert Hall - Winnipeg

The costuming and sets were stunning. The music was wonderful as usual. The dance between the lovers at the end of the first act was breath-taking and very moving. Beautiful, emotional and the music was very much a part of creating the atmosphere. The group can-can was so exciting to watch. Very colourful and the audience got involved by clapping to the music. All in all it was great. The audience quickly gave them a well deserved standing ovation.
