    Celtic Illusion

    by P. D. on 2020-03-02Abbotsford Centre - Abbotsford

I was disappointed that there was NO merchandise available for purchase before and during the show. You could only make purchases after the show. Also the merchandise was very limited in what was available. I am a magnet collector and there were none. The show was fabulous! I personally would have liked to see more of the Illusion, but thoroughly enjoyed the dancing !

    Needs Improvement

by Rhonda on 2020-03-02Abbotsford Centre - Abbotsford

The dancers had some good talent, but the production was poor. All 3 of us were bored and it made us feel sleepy. We definitely had our eyes closed when the singer was up. We were ready to leave halfway through, but stayed. The last half was better but still needed much improvement. We felt we were watching a school production. Tickets should have been half of what we paid.

    Terrific entertainment

by TnD on 2020-03-02Abbotsford Centre - Abbotsford

We loved the non-stop energy and artful flow as the focus flowed from step dancers to magic, solo songstress and even wooden flute. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening which was further enhanced by the well coordinated parking.

    Disappointing

by Cindy on 2020-03-02Abbotsford Centre - Abbotsford

The show was supposed to start at 8 o’clock and unfortunately did not start till 810. Intermission was the same. We were told the break would be20 minutes and it was actually a thirty minute break. The acoustics were so loud we were not able to differentiate the words when the young lady was singing. The flutist as well was not heard properly. The dancers appeared to use pre canned music whereby their stomps or taps did not match the music. Very amateurish concert. I was so looking forward to seeing the concert and ended up being so disappointed. Not what I was expecting at all. The magic or illusions were good. Won’t be buying tickets ever again to see Celtic Illusion. Hope they get the sound under control for their next concert.

    The entertainment was excellent

by James on 2020-03-02Abbotsford Centre - Abbotsford

Celtic Illusion is a great show. Although I think 2 45 minute acts isn’t very long. My issue is with the venue dinner package. Are you kidding me? $45 each for a buffet with only included pieces of chicken and dry salmon. Total rip-off for the price in my opinion. Was expecting perhaps carved roast beef or something similar. Simply too high a price for what you get. Deserts were good

    Ok show

    by English65 on 2020-03-01Sandman Centre - Kamloops

Great dancers, music great....but a little odd in presentation....no one was introduced, nothing was explained....they were dancing to a recording of tap dancing, on a wooden stage so could hear the difference. The illusions were mediocre. Wasn’t really worth the $80 or so ticket price.

    Stamina

    Okay

by Family outing on 2020-03-01Sandman Centre - Kamloops

The performance was enjoyable but it was not terribly professional. Requires some fine tuning. We were disappointed in how few people came out to the show. The performers appeared to be enjoying themselves. The magic was done well but the same illusions of having dancers change costumes in tubes got old quickly. Small things like seeing arms come out to snatch clothes off the stage or close the gap in the curtain are distracting.

    Good and just ok

    by J on 2020-03-01Sandman Centre - Kamloops

Performers were talented. The production seemed a little awkward and amateur at times. Maybe a different venue would be better. The vocal performance seemed to not fit in with the show.

    Illusion delusion

by Hoss on 2020-03-01Sandman Centre - Kamloops

Not on the same level as Lord of the Dance and/or Riverdance. If you seen either of these two shows you will be disappointed in Celtic Illusion. Small troup and use taped sound over loud speakers to increase the tap sound, in other words fake. The dancers are good and work hard but need more of them. The illusions were standard fare seen many times nothing new. Not worth the money, overcharged.

    Celtic Illusion

by Show girl on 2020-02-29Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

The show was good, however it was like something was missing! The Illusions were a little cheesy! The dancing was amazing, just wished the main man dancer would have danced with the group instead of pacing around and putting on what I think he thought was a show! I would probably not go to this show again! The singers were also very good, should of had dancers behind her while she was singing!

I found it boring.. To much flute and singing..

by ryeguy on 2020-02-28Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

I found it very low grade compared to riverdance which is what this was.. The upcoming celtic and a illusionist thrown in.. I found the illusionist acts quite predictable. I went and will return and also let people know.. I was glad I sat up in upper balcony so the seats were cheaper..

    Fell Flat(ley)

by Mamabear on 2020-02-28Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

If you have seen Lord of the Dance you will be very disappointed in Celtic Illusion. The show completely lacked any story line. The dancing was pretty good and the soloist and musicians were very good...but without a storyline they were just random performances as were the illusions.

    Underwhelmed

by MM on 2020-02-28Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

While the show was entertaining it was not the great. My reasons are: 1. the bodhrán player was faking his playing, his drumming did not match the beat of the music; he was holding the bodhrán towards his body, which I have never seen a player do; and finally the bodhrán he was using was not a real one as it cannot be tuned. 2. the dancers are very good, but the music was out of step with their tapping. 3. There are many Irish songs/ballads that could have been sung rather than North America.

    Spirited performance

by AR on 2020-02-28Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Good dancing, singing, violin and Celtic flute playing. The show was entertaining, the magic added a neat flavour. Tap dancers were highly skilled. It was not necessary to enhance the tap dancing sound, which was too loud, even from our first balcony seats. The recorded music was much, much too loud. It was very hard at times to hear the singer, flute and violin over the accompaniment. This was unfortunate as they were very good. The quiet moments needed to be quieter to enhance the effect. A live band would have been better as well, with minimal amplification.

    Slightly disappointing

by Dance Follower on 2020-02-28Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

First half was a disappointment. Too much about contraptions & tricks which didn't all work; a couple of people in front of me left. 2nd half had the music, vibrancy and energy I was expecting.

    Intense Enjoyable Entertainment

by Hawkeye on 2020-02-28Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

A truly wonderful blend of music, song, dance, and illusion at a fast but most enjoyable pace. The performers are top notch and extremely talented in their specialties. The pace changes throughout with a blend of the various art forms. Sit back and enjoy but know that you will be totally entertained at an exhaustive pace.

    Celtic Illusion

by Laurie on 2020-02-28Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Great dancers, way smaller group than Riverdance though so they fill in breaks with very poor amateur magic that failed a couple times (actually fell apart and had to "cut" act) and the found the singer and flute and violin player filling in time gaps very boring. If you have seen Riverdance you will be disappointed. The dancers are no doubt talented but there is too much boring filler and some of the story telling in the dance is hard to make sense of (lighting a candle on a tiny table...didn't get that at all)The last 3 dances at the end were the best. They should have left magic out of the show.

    Just ok

by Bee on 2020-02-28Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

The dancing was great but the magic stuff was basically the same disappearing trick over and over. The singing in between dances was cheesy. Lovely voice but cheesy songs. Left feeling like i was glad i didn't spend more than $60.
