    Celtic Thunder without the "Celtic"

by irishgal on 2009-10-02THE ARROW HALL - Mississauga

First let me say that I am a huge Celtic thunder fan!!! I have seen them once before and was so impressed that I went again to see their new show. The first show I saw was an amazing concert and I was totally entertained from start to finish. I left wanting more and could not wait to see them again. This new show was more of a play and did have the 'thunder' that they usually display. There were a lot of sIow songs and I almost fell asleep through the first half. The intermission was one hour which is unheard of at any show. They said it was for the difficult set change, but frankly, it didn't look that different. If I knew this before, I would not have gone. The second act was much better but I still left feeling very disappointed. For those people who have never seen them before, they did not witness what Celtic Thunder is truly about. Also, as their name states, they should be singing more Celtic songs. Instead, they were singing cover tunes which were quite corny!! And they had some female performers who were very good but that's not what we were there to see. As I said before, I was a true fan but after seeing this, I don't think I would go back. They need to go back to their Celtic roots as that is what people want to see!

    Celtic Thunder

by Mutti on 2009-10-02THE ARROW HALL - Mississauga

Loved the second half of the show, it was wonderful!! It really exhibited how talented the members of Celtic Thunder are. I was on the edge of my seat. The first half ... not so much. I was expecting the Celtic Thunder that I saw at Rama in Orillia. Unfortunately, the first half was like watching a high school production with only glimmers of what Celtic Thunder is all about. Sorry, wish I could be more positive. All in all I enjoyed the second half enough that I would go and see Celtic Thunder again. They are truly a talented group especially when they sing together. Awsome.

    Celtic Thunder

by kaline on 2009-10-02THE ARROW HALL - Mississauga

Very disappointing. I was expecting celtic music and dancing and instead got pop music. The first part was supposed to be a musical but there was no plot, no ending. The second part....celtic Beach Boys? I am a fan of Loreena McKennitt, Enya, even the Cranberries who at least to some degree represent Celtic music. I was hoping for more dancing, instrumentals and real celtic vocals.

    Celtic Thunder Stormy

by Probiyogi on 2009-10-02THE ARROW HALL - Mississauga

While the first half of the show was slow the music was great. The second half was a great combination of current tunes followed by a traditional Thunder finale! Looking forward to buying the DVD!

Celtic Thunder rocks in my book

by Stoner2 on 2009-10-02THE ARROW HALL - Mississauga

I went to see this group at Casino Rama some time ago, awesome, bought the DVD, I play it whenever I can and have shared this wonderful experience with my many friends. Last night's performance "Celtic Thunder Storm" was a litltle bit different, not sure about the Rock N Roll part of the performance and we were warned to expect different songs. All in all, each and everyone that participated last night were top notch. I look forward to going to their next showing, I love them all, keep going, you rock.

Celtic Thunder stormed in and took over!

by Imadiva on 2009-10-02THE ARROW HALL - Mississauga

The show was amazing! Act I was completely different than anything I had expected! They really did an amazing job; it was fun, the singing was incredible and the set was massive. Act II was more of what we expected, but just as fabulous as always! The only disappointed was with my tickets as they were so far orchestra right it was difficult to see action on stage right. I asked for best available the moment tickets went on sale and they weren't the best seats. Oh well, the show was still enjoyable!

Classic AND completely different Celtic Thunder!

by Tissa on 2009-10-02THE ARROW HALL - Mississauga

Wow! This show was unforgettable! One act was what i've come to expect from a CT show and the other was amazingly different. So creative and interesting. The harmonies are richer, the interaction between the guys is more fun. You can really see how they've come together as an ensemble to create an amazing new show that will blow you away. Kudos to Sharon and Phil for keeping the familiar and exploring something new but still authentic.

    Celtic Storm

by Christmasangel on 2009-10-02THE ARROW HALL - Mississauga

An amazing night! The first act, completely different from what we've seen before by Celtic Thunder. More theatrical, more dancers and more singers. Act 1 is a story being brought to life by 5 amazing voices that are joined by new comers to the production. Act 2 more in line of what we've seen in the past. A concert styled setting with a softer back drop surrounding them. I for one was not disappointed with this show and look forward to seeing the concert again when they begin to tour with it in the spring. Cheers!

    Storm rocks Canada

by 3Moms on 2009-10-02THE ARROW HALL - Mississauga

The first half of the show was theatrical and pre-recorded! Although it flowed as a story and all performed it well, we definitely enjoyed the second half better. After all it was the boys we were there to see. They didn't disappoint! Our group of five unanimously agreed!

    Celtic Thunder amazing

by johnirish on 2009-10-02THE ARROW HALL - Mississauga

Great to get to see the lads again. The show was amazing and had a lot of new material which really showed off their individual talents. Damien has really grown up and his voice is improving with age. George, Keith and Ryan--fantastic, but the one who really stood out this time was Paul. He brought the house down with his version of 'You raised me up' and also with his little song and dance number. Their combined version of U2's " I still haven't found what I'm looking for " was brilliant. Nice to see some ladies introduced into the show too. Not sure of the name of the guitarist that joined in a lot of the vocals but he is a very accomplished singer as well as a musician. Both sets were spectacular, despite a few little glitches, I have never seen anything as impressive as these sets. All in all a great show and looking forward to getting the DVD and seeing the show as a TV special.

After seeing "Celtic Thunder" with 5 other friends , we all left the event feeling it was absolutely amazing. The talent and diversity of these entertainers make them outstanding. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys Celtic and contemporary music. Their voices are fantastic and each one is individual. The musicians are awesome as well.

Second half of the show their was redemption

by Celtic007 on 2009-10-02THE ARROW HALL - Mississauga

After seeing Celtic Thunder in Tampa last November, we anticipate a similar show FULL of their heritage music etc. SO did several people seated around us. The first half of the show was creative but NOT THEM... There was redemption in the second half of the show as they again displayed their talent that brought them to fame.

    1st half

by JIMMY12 on 2009-10-02THE ARROW HALL - Mississauga

Was very dissappointed in the 1st half, very slow and not any audience participation. Have been to there shows before and always thouroughly enjoyed them. 2nd half was fantastic and what you would expect from them, thoroughly enjoyed that. Overall not a bad show, however had I not been, and turned on the TV to watch, I would have missed a good 2nd half as I would have turn it off before the 1st half was finished.

Celtic Thunder in Toronto...great, not amazing

by Anonymous on 2009-10-02THE ARROW HALL - Mississauga

The 2nd half was much better than the first half. The first half was more musical theatre, which did not work for me. My expectations were for a similar concert as in the Helix in Dublin or in Casino Rama back in April. I realize they went way out there with this concept, but to succeed, it had to be much better than their usual concert, but it was not, the songs in this half were OK, sung very well but for the most part, forgettable. Really enjoyed the second half.... I would consider the Dublin and Casino Rama concerts as amazing...
