About

Cher on Tour

There's a very good reason Cher is often described as an artistic chameleon. An award-winning musician and actress with a larger-than-life personality and compassionate heart, she has spent more than 50 years cultivating a singular career driven by risk-taking and an embrace of modern trends.

The California-born star cut her teeth singing backup on Phil Spector productions (including The Ronettes' "Be My Baby"), but she truly kick-started her musical career in the mid 1960s alongside then-husband Sonny Bono. The duo made pop-rock hits such as "I Got You Babe" and "The Beat Goes On," and they kept their public profile high by starring in a successful TV show, The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour.

Cher found even more enduring success when she stepped out on her own, especially musically. In the early '70s, she landed at No. 1 with the mystical folk-rocker "Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves" and the string-swept, theatrical soul-pop gem "Dark Lady." In the late '80s, the brash, hard rock-influenced "I Found Someone" and "If I Could Turn Back Time" connected on the charts. The late '90s saw her emerge with the upbeat, electro-pop worldwide smash "Believe," which earned the 2000 Grammy for Best Dance Recording. Cher also excels as a musical interpreter; her versions of the R&B classic "The Shoop Shoop Song (It's in His Kiss)" and Marc Cohn's "Walking in Memphis" especially demonstrate vocal versatility and range.

In the '80s, she became more serious about her movie career and acted in multiple well-received films. She won major awards for this work, notably the 1983 Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress – Motion Picture for Silkwood and the 1988 Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in Moonstruck.

Cher's creative spirit and drive remain vibrant. In 2018, her turn in the ABBA-inspired movie musical hit Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (which included a dynamite duet with actor Andy Garcia on "Fernando") led to her recording Dancing Queen, an album of ABBA covers.

The setlist of Cher's 2019 Here We Go Again Tour includes several of these exuberant disco gems, in addition to major hits culled from her storied catalog. As usual, the concert also is an eye-popping visual extravaganza driven by exquisite stage decor and intricate choreography. The centerpiece is Cher herself, who commands the stage with glitzy costumes (and multiple outfit changes), charismatic banter, and her powerful, magnetic voice.

Cher performance left alot to be desired

by KitKat1 on 2009-09-23The Colosseum At Caesars Palace - Las Vegas

I love, love, love Cher, but I have to say that I was not super impressed with this performance. For the amount we paid for the tickets, I would have liked to have seen more of Cher performing and less of her dancers. Because she had so many costume changes, I found that there was ALOT of filler. And she only has a 90 min show. Not to mention that she sang alot of cover songs, and nelected to sing some of her own biggest songs. When you have been singing as long as she has, you don't need to cover other peoples songs. And when she did sing her own songs, alot of them she only sang a few verses. I was super excited to see this show, but I don't think that would see it again and again.

    Cher's Still Got It!

by Reviewer007 on 2009-09-23The Colosseum At Caesars Palace - Las Vegas

Very good show. Great production values - great dancers. Cher still has the swagger and the sexiness that make her Cher. Nice nostalgic feel -kind of like her life in review. She wasn't trying to be anything that she is not. Ofcourse everyone raves about the costumes - but for me they were secondary to her singing and getting to see her up close in all her Cherness. A true Diva and a star - they just don't make them like her and Bette anyore!

CHER - Fantastic! The new format and old songs she did in concert with Sony(Played back fron the old Sony and Cher Show) was both dramatic and great tribute. Love you Cher and thank you for the memory! Just wish I could have taken pictures.

Cher was amazing - fabulous, all you would expect

by DivaTrish on 2009-08-27The Colosseum At Caesars Palace - Las Vegas

Cher sailed over our heads to land on the stage in a fabulous Bob Mackie costume. All gold and shining. She was witty and wonderful in her monologue that had the whole room in hysterics. She proceeded to dance and sing her way through all the songs that we wanted to hear. The costumes continued to be amazing. She gave us 2 hours of fabulosity as only Cher can. There was a beautiful montage of her "Sonny & Cher " shows, movies and tons of still photos. Well worth the price of a ticket at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. I have already bought another ticket to go again!

Really nice to go back in memory lane

by Cassiope on 2009-07-19The Colosseum At Caesars Palace - Las Vegas

It was great, costumes, accrobats, music from all the 4 decades. However, I was disappointed after the concert when I realized she only sang 8 songs in total!!! The rest was videos and accrobats. I paid to see Cher sing!!!! I was also disappointed that she didn't sing "I got you babe". I was also very troubled when they did a close up of her face from the stage. After seeing all the old footage, I got scared. She was very scarry looking with the cheeks obviously filled up. Why do they do this? It looks so ugly. Just stay natural!!! We had to walk through a metal detector going in and they took our cameras away??? I was stressed the whole show that I wouldn't see my camera again with pictures from my previous days.

    Cher Las Vegas

by Luco on 2009-07-15The Colosseum At Caesars Palace - Las Vegas

Cher's show was excellent! Definetly a must see! I had read previous reviews that there was more of her changing costumes than singing, it just wouldn't be Cher if there was no costume change. The show was a little over 1 hour 1/2 with no intermission. It's well worth paying more to have better seating.

    Never too old

by Cloe on 2009-07-13The Colosseum At Caesars Palace - Las Vegas

Wow, even at her age, she can put on a great show and double wow, she looks great! I was quite impressed with her show. She had some amazing outfits and I loved the acrobatic dancers. Don't know if the show was more impressive because it was in Vegas, but I highly recommend you see her while you can. Who knows how many more years she has left in her.

    Cher was ok...

by Dinkie on 2009-07-13The Colosseum At Caesars Palace - Las Vegas

Unfortunately the concert was not what we expected it to be. Cher was approximately 30 minutes late starting her show. Sounded like she had inner ear problems. Alot of Sonny & Cher clips & costume changes. Would have like to hear her sing more of her recent hits.

If you're not completely a fan of Cher's when you walk into one of her concerts, you definitely walk out one! Cher was absolutely beautiful, funny and a true DIVA. Her backup dancers and aerialists were fantastic. Well worth the price of admission. A must see!

    Cher

by Elizabeth on 2009-07-13The Colosseum At Caesars Palace - Las Vegas

I went to see Cher in March and took my two daughters, they both loved it. SInce my husband was working and could not go in March we went again in May as he had been trying to see shows with Cher for a couple of years. The show was fabulous! Cher was fantastic! She looked great ! The costumes were gorgeous. We liked everything about it, the times Cher changed her costumes we watched clips of her and Sonny and Cirque du soleil live performers on stage. I would definitely go see it again.

    Fantastic

by Columbus on 2009-07-12The Colosseum At Caesars Palace - Las Vegas

Wow, what a great show. We saw Cher back in August 2008 and the show was great but she seemed a little tired. We went back this May 2009 and Cher is back now and better than ever. She talks and relates to the audience and the performance was perfect. All that you could want. No matter if you are an avid fan or not - this show is well worth seeing.
