About

Cher on Tour

There's a very good reason Cher is often described as an artistic chameleon. An award-winning musician and actress with a larger-than-life personality and compassionate heart, she has spent more than 50 years cultivating a singular career driven by risk-taking and an embrace of modern trends.

The California-born star cut her teeth singing backup on Phil Spector productions (including The Ronettes' "Be My Baby"), but she truly kick-started her musical career in the mid 1960s alongside then-husband Sonny Bono. The duo made pop-rock hits such as "I Got You Babe" and "The Beat Goes On," and they kept their public profile high by starring in a successful TV show, The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour.

Cher found even more enduring success when she stepped out on her own, especially musically. In the early '70s, she landed at No. 1 with the mystical folk-rocker "Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves" and the string-swept, theatrical soul-pop gem "Dark Lady." In the late '80s, the brash, hard rock-influenced "I Found Someone" and "If I Could Turn Back Time" connected on the charts. The late '90s saw her emerge with the upbeat, electro-pop worldwide smash "Believe," which earned the 2000 Grammy for Best Dance Recording. Cher also excels as a musical interpreter; her versions of the R&B classic "The Shoop Shoop Song (It's in His Kiss)" and Marc Cohn's "Walking in Memphis" especially demonstrate vocal versatility and range.

In the '80s, she became more serious about her movie career and acted in multiple well-received films. She won major awards for this work, notably the 1983 Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress – Motion Picture for Silkwood and the 1988 Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in Moonstruck.

Cher's creative spirit and drive remain vibrant. In 2018, her turn in the ABBA-inspired movie musical hit Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (which included a dynamite duet with actor Andy Garcia on "Fernando") led to her recording Dancing Queen, an album of ABBA covers.

The setlist of Cher's 2019 Here We Go Again Tour includes several of these exuberant disco gems, in addition to major hits culled from her storied catalog. As usual, the concert also is an eye-popping visual extravaganza driven by exquisite stage decor and intricate choreography. The centerpiece is Cher herself, who commands the stage with glitzy costumes (and multiple outfit changes), charismatic banter, and her powerful, magnetic voice.

    not the greatest

by jude on 2009-07-12The Colosseum At Caesars Palace - Las Vegas

we went, she was off the stage with costume changes more than she was on the stage. At the end of her singing parts to her last song she turned away and walked off the stage. The song wasn't even done yet. But her dancers were great. Overall not the best show and not worth the money.

    Fantastic

by bettyboop on 2009-07-12The Colosseum At Caesars Palace - Las Vegas

Great show. The costume changes were fantastic, and the energy was great. Cher only sang about 50-60% of the show, as there was lots of talking in between, and instrumental breaks. But as a long-time fan of Cher I am thrilled to have seen her live.

    Cher Performance was Great

by nlaudience on 2009-07-12The Colosseum At Caesars Palace - Las Vegas

The Cher performance was great, however, it was a little light on actual Cher performances, and too much of the other performers. It was well put together!!!

    Over the top

by MichelleS on 2009-07-12The Colosseum At Caesars Palace - Las Vegas

I didn't mind paying the inflated ticket price..after all, it was Cher, and it is Vegas. I can appreciate the over the top nature of the show as well. But I didn't pay to watch videos and other people dance..I paid for Cher. I would have preferred more singing and way, way, way fewer costume changes. It just wasn't worth the $$

    Cher was excellent.

You expect her to change..sing older and newer and be herself on stage. Lot's of praise for Sonny.. Second time we've seen her and this venue is much better than a large stadium

    Cher

by GBOY on 2009-07-12The Colosseum At Caesars Palace - Las Vegas

Cher is amazing, my only complaint is that she changes way to often, I would have preffered her to just stay on stage and sing her little heart out... She was great !

    Cher was, as expected, amazing!!!

by CherFanOntario on 2009-07-11The Colosseum At Caesars Palace - Las Vegas

From the moment the show started it was non-stop energy and comedy. Cher has so much energy and her costumes were all amazing! During her costume changes they showed clips from the Sonny & Cher show on large screens and it was so much fun to see them again.....it actually brought a few tears to my eyes! Cher was very interactive with the audience and was quite funny! Overall, it was an absolutely amazing show and I highly recommend it!

    It was ok

by Vinnie on 2009-07-11The Colosseum At Caesars Palace - Las Vegas

Too much video, not enough singing and more humility would be necessary...
