About

CHRIS ISAAK IN CONCERT:

When it comes to rock heartthrobs, iconic crooner Chris Isaak is the standard by which all other artists should be judged. Silky voice and shimmering guitar tones? Check. Baby blue eyes and lustrous pompadour? Check. Enough charm and charisma to swindle you out of your savings? Blank check. Starting with his 1985 debut, Isaak has consistently backed up his good looks with serious chops as a performer, and his 2014 tour dates should be no different. Whether he's breaking hearts with "Wicked Game" or casually chatting with his audience, Isaak's talent and magnetism always make for an unforgettable concert experience.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born to a blue-collar California family, Isaak was a high achiever from an early age, serving as student body president of his high school and graduating as class valedictorian. He signed to Warner Bros. in 1984, making his album debut the following year with Silvertone, a moderate success. His self-titled 1986 sophomore album fared similarly, but 1989's Heart Shaped World was a breakout hit, catapulting him to international fame with the steamy single "Wicked Game." Following a string of popular albums released in the '90s, Isaak had a successful run hosting his own talk show The Chris Isaak Show from 2001-2004. On tour once again in 2014, Isaak will treat fans to classics from his decade-spanning catalog as rumors swirl about the possibility of new material on the not-so-distant horizon.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Chris Isaak was, as usual, wonderful to watch, a delight to listen to, and fun, fun, fun. I love the way he works his way through the audience and interacts with as many people as he can. He is witty and shares stories."

"Chris is one of the best performers around. He really involves the audience in the show and you feel like you are participating - not just viewing."

"Chris played almost non-stop for a full two hours. He's an excellent showman: he did most of his well-known songs and joked with the audience. Great sense of humor and a beautiful voice."

    Chris rocks it!

by Elzunia on 2016-05-27Massey Hall - Toronto

What a great and under rated talent! He is an extremely talented singer-songwriter. Maybe a little too chatty with band member references. Perhaps the set list could be re-invigorated, but his voice and the musical talent of the band members is excellent. Great on-stage presence and would have liked an encore as well.

    Really entertaining

by Dutchgirlfan on 2016-04-29Hard Rock Live Orlando - Orlando

I'd never seen Chris perform live before, he went out of his way to impress the crowd, both with his music and with his ongoing conversation with the audience. Actually travelled through the audience at one point, even walking through the seating rows ...lots of fun to be at this concert! Chris' voice is still amazing after 30 years of performing, gave me chills!

    Chris Isaak in Amazing Voice!

by KellyGM on 2014-08-31Massey Hall - Toronto

Chris Isaak dazzled Massey Hall in more ways than one! Wearing a fantastic bedazzled suit, Chris Isaak entertained the audience for 2 hours singing all his hits and a few other classics - rocking them all. Chris and the band were in terrific form - funny, talented and very well dressed. From start to finish - the show wowed the crowd. He hit all the notes and knocked "Wicked Game" out of the park. Finishing off with a mirrored suit and a rockin' encore. The acoustics at Massey Hall made for crystal clear sound. Perfect venue for Chris Isaak.

    Chris Isaak at Massey Hall

by Marlana on 2014-08-31Massey Hall - Toronto

Chris and his band are one of THE most talented and entertaining musicians on tour today. This is the fourth time I have attended his concert, twice at Massey Hall, a perfect venue for his style of interactive entertainment. Only complaint is that it was almost identical to his last concert...even to the jokes and patter. I just wish he would change up the song lineup and include more of his earlier tunes, such as Fade Away, Beautiful Homes, Except the New Girl, Walk Slow, Wanderin, and so on. Don't get lazy, Chris, your fans love you and your music but you need to put together a new routine; it's not as if you don't have plenty of material to choose from - make the effort. AND the VIP session was great but much too short - sorry, but for what I paid, I think there should have been a bit more time allowed with Chris himself - forget the pix and allow some chat time.

What live music is all about

by Cnewbs on 2014-08-30Massey Hall - Toronto

Amazing venue for an amazing singer. From the start he and the band got the crowd going. Walking into the crowd and going to the second level is something you don't see many people do, it was a real treat. Between the flashy outfits, showmanship and comedy act, it's hard to believe this guy doesn't get more hype. His voice was perfect especially with the Massey Hall acoustics. Not many people can sing like this guy. If you're looking for a live show to see, check him out, I'm wasn't a huge fan going in but coming out I am now. Wish more performers put the effort in that he does. A great time was had and will go see him again for sure.

    Comedy and Music in One!

by Wowzzzz on 2014-08-30Massey Hall - Toronto

He is so funny! Chris calls out at audience members as they get up for a restroom break etc. Setlist was quite subdued from the last time he was here. I think he saw the audience was a "sitting" kind of group so he played more "Baja" style. I stood at the back and danced.. come on no one got up for Ring of Fire????
