Lauded by peers and critics alike, Chris Rock is one of our generation's strongest comedic voices. With a career spanning more than three decades, Rock has enjoyed ongoing success in both film and television as a comedian, actor, writer, producer, and director.
Rock made history on March 4, 2023 with his Netflix standup special, "Chris Rock: Selective Outrage," a first of its kind global live streaming event. The special debuted on Netflix's Top 10 and has been nominated for three Emmys and a Grammy. The special was the culmination of his Ego Death World Tour.
Rock can currently be seen starring opposite Colman Domingo in the Higher Ground produced and George C. Wolfe directed biopic, "Rustin," in theaters and streaming on Netflix now.
Next up Rock will be collaborating with Steven Spielberg on a film about the life of Martin Luther King Jr. Rock will direct and produce the project, with Spielberg on board as executive producer. His animated series "Everybody Still Hates Chris" is set to stream globally on Paramount + and Comedy Central. Rock serves as the executive producer and narrator.
He can recently be seen in Sally Potter's short film, "Look at Me" and David O'Russell's, "Amsterdam."
In 2021, Rock starred as Loy Cannon in season 4 of FX's Emmy-winning drama series "Fargo." He also teamed up with Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures in the reimagining of the newest Saw franchise movie, "Spiral," in which he produced and starred in. His most recent standup special, "Total Blackout: The Tamborine Extended Cut," is currently streaming on Netflix.
In 2014 he led the ensemble cast of "Top Five," a critically acclaimed comedy feature that he also wrote and directed. In 2009 Rock ventured into the documentary world as a writer and producer of "Good Hair," and in 2014 he executive produced "Eat Drink Laugh: The Story of the Comic Strip," a documentary recounting the history of one of New York's most famous comedy venues. His feature acting credits include The Week Of, the Grown Ups and Madagascar franchises, 2 Days in New York, Death at a Funeral, Nurse Betty, Dogma, the hip-hop comedy CB4, and New Jack City.
His television work includes serving as a cast member on "Saturday Night Live" from 1989 - 1993 and as executive producer, writer and narrator for the series "Everybody Hates Chris." The series ran from 2005 - 2009 and is still one of the highest rated syndicated shows in the world.
In 2011, Rock made his Broadway debut starring in Stephen Adly Guirgis's "The Motherf**ker With The Hat."
Rock has won four Emmy Awards, three Grammy Awards, and is a New York Times Best-Selling Author. In addition, he received two nominations for the 2016 Emmy Awards, for Outstanding Director for a Variety Special for "Amy Schumer: Live at the Apollo," and Outstanding Special Class Program for the 88th Annual Academy Awards.
Great entertainer chris rock is. Talented comedian and was grateful to see him do his thing. The sound was crappy, and echoed a lot throughout the performance, and there were not enough screens for those who couldn’t see him. Also the Vancouver crowd sucked and was pretty low energy.
From the experience- venue, parking, entry to the quality of the show - Rock just didn’t deliver the goods, he delivered anger This was the most disappointing event I’ve been to.
Amazing show and absolutely hilarious! Would attend every time Chris Rock came to town for his stand up show!
Seemed like going to war. Long queues out in the rain. Phones, power banks, watches… to be kept in sealed pouches all through the events. All for a crappy performance and jokes that were all in poor taste. Had a bad headache at the end of it all.

Very very comical man. I laffed so continuously my sides were aching at new material . Along with his frontman it was a full nite of excited stress release and fun times!
Chris was good but the audio was horrible. The echo was horrible and was very distracting.
He was excellent but ubc thunderbird stadium is a terrible venue!
First off, his set was great delivery execution all on point. The not so good was the venue coordination line up getting in went from line to unorganized chaos not enough scanners for the number of rows, the process for locking devices can also you a revamp and better organization.
Love Chris Rock! He was excellent. The back up comedian was good as well.
Very funny. Appreciated not having Cel phones, everyone was very engaged. Only 4 stars because security guards at the venue gathered in the isles to watch and it blocked our view of the stage. At one point there were 6 standing together enjoying the show. We asked them to move 3 times but they would only leave for a few minutes and then come back and stand in front of us.
I thought Chris Rock and his opening act were both very good. I did not like the fact that the show started an hour late and that 1/4 of all the people waited until the show started to get to their seats.
It took over an hr to get to the venue due to traffic being diverted to a specific parkade. This was just ridiculous- made us late to the show. The show was very average-too short
The show was very enjoyable Chris rock and the opener were both very funny however the show started over an hour late. Listed start time of 8:00 however the opener didn’t take the stage till shortly after 9
I was a bit annoyed I didnt know beforehand I wouldn’t have access to my phone but I completely forgot about it as the show started. I laughed so much that i cried. Best comedian ever! Every joke landed and that never usually happens for me at a comedy show! Hope it comes on Netflix so i can watch over and over.
LOVED LOVED LOVED THE SHOW!!!! Chris Rock is one of my favourite comics and he did not disappoint! He addressed the Oscar situation with such class. He’s bang on when he says he was raised right! I can’t wait until we get the chance to see him again and again!
Overall the show was fun, however, the floor seats seemed too cramped together. They could have made the seating arrangements for the floor better. Also, there was no room to put drinks etc.
Chris Rock was great, as expected but the surprise of the night was the opening act. Rick Ingraham was hilarious and his set was fresh and witty! The venue was clearly not used to this amount of volume because the roads into the area were packed and so slow-moving and it took forever to get in and out of the arena.
The show “Chris Rock” was awesome, however the entire experience getting in and out was terrible. First off one parkade with one entrance for 6000 + people with no traffic co trip was embarrassing. Equally embarrassing was 40 minutes to get out of the parkade after - will never attend another event here for sure.
