    no big screen

by langara on 2017-09-17UBC - Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre - Vancouver

Needed a big screen to show his face. As we couldn't see him very well couldn't see him or the facial expressions. Made it a bit boring and walked away feeling a bit disappointed.

    Chris Rock as advertised!

by wjjct on 2017-09-17UBC - Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre - Vancouver

Both opening acts were good, leading up to Chris, with the second one quite the slow burn but still funny.

    Terrible set!

by Star55 on 2017-09-17UBC - Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre - Vancouver

Started late. Food and drinks awful and over priced. Did not use the big screen set up so that everyone in the audience could see him!! Humor is subjective and I used to be a fan, but he seemed depressed. Going on about his infidelity and how children being abused in school is good for them, was getting more groans then laughs. I think the "black out" and phone locks where so no one knew how bad this experience is. Needs some new material. Not worth the money.

    Chris Rock

by LadyMj on 2017-09-17UBC - Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre - Vancouver

I was very disappointed that they did not show Chris on the screen behind him so we could see his expressions. He used the F... bomb too many times.

    Lukewarm

by Paul1970 on 2017-09-17UBC - Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre - Vancouver

I was looking forward to seeing Chris Rock as he has been really funny on the Tonight Show and when he hosted the Oscars. His show at UBC was not his best material. There were 2 opening acts of 15 minutes each and their material was better than Chris. He talked a lot about his divorce and it seemed that he was remorseful. The sound quality was not very good as there was an echo in the UBC arena. This was very distracting. There were a lot of jokes about american based politics and racism. Based on the material that Chris Rock did at this past week's show, I would not see him perform LIVE again. Expensive tickets at $170.

Energetic and raunchy - same old Chris Rock with that smiley delivery. Brings in a lot of his life experience which hasn't been funny of late.

    Great Performance - Terrible Venue

by ScooterMcGee on 2017-09-15UBC Thunderbird Arena - Vancouver

I love Chris Rock. I saw him last time when he was at the Orpheum Theater. A MUCH better venue than the frickin' UBC Thunderbird Arena. I paid $150.00 per ticket for floor seats, only to stare at the back of some guy's head. The floor seats were spaced out WAY too far from row to row, so our seats may have well been in the parking lot and we weren't that far back, considering there were another 20 rows behind us or so. Not much of a stage to speak of either. The backdrop was included in a joke by his opener. It was a JOKE - a wrinkled curtain basically... Compared to Kevin Hart who I saw at Rogers Arena, complete with pyrotechnics, massive screens for people in the nosebleeds to even see him up close, etc. It would have been better if there was a tv screen of his show at the same time so we could have looked up to see that instead of between bobble heads to catch a glimpse. Not sure why Chris Rock can't sell out Rogers Arena. Weird! Chris's opener was HILARIOUS though! His follow up act started out rough, but had me crying from laughter by the end of his set. I like the more "personal" jokes he made. Seems like he's coming from an honest place, but again, this venue SUCKED !!!!! It was bad enough that the doors were not opened until exactly 8 PM, but they only had two doors open and the process of checking your phone in these little tamper proof bags seemed to take SOOOO LONG. The WORST part of the whole show was leaving. The only close place to park for this venue is in the parking garage. FIVE levels of parking. Seemed like a good idea at the time, as getting in was a breeze. Getting out - not so much. ROAD RAGE to the max. People trying to back out of their stalls only to not be let in by the line of traffic trying to get out. It took 45 minutes to leave. I will NEVER see a show here again no matter how much I love the performer. Chris gets a 5 star review, the venue gets a 3.

Another perfect example of laughing 'til I tinkle!

by Wigguns on 2017-05-02Fox Theatre Detroit - Detroit

Entire show was fantastic, from open to close. All performers were on top of their game, and the added bonus of feeling gangster from being in Detroit topped the night off!

    Had a great evening !

by Gillsie on 2017-03-30Saenger Theatre New Orleans - New Orleans

We 11 50-60-something women were delighted when Jeff Ross opened the show. He was very funny and included the audience in his act. The second comedian who will remain nameless was a BUST ! Don't know if he was high ... or sick but he was totally unfunny. The crowd eventually heckled and shamed him until he stopped trying. Totally UNFUNNY. Thankfully Hanibal Buress was next and he was apologetic and brought the crowd back. Really good. Now Chris Rock made us scream with laughter for the next 75 minutes or so. Love his common sense yet warped comic slant on the world and people in it.
