About

Chromeo, the funk-electronic DJ duo composed of David "Dave 1" Macklovitch and Patrick "P-Thugg" Gemayel, have been churning out catchy dancefloor additions since forming in 2002. Beginning as high school bandmates in Montreal, Canada, the pair combined their appreciation for ‘80s funk, pop and R&B with a mutual studio savvy that leaned more toward hip-hop production. Dave 1 and P-Thugg debuted as Chromeo on 2004’s She’s in Control featuring their first major single “Needy Girl,” followed by Fancy Footwork (2007) and Business Casual (2010). The duo’s 2014 album White Women pushed Chromeo into wider mainstream acclaim, debuting at No. 11 on the Billboard 200 and boasting their single “Jealous (I Ain't with It)," which peaked at No. 12 on the Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart. Chromeo’s 2018 follow-up Head Over Heels added to the duo’s accolades with their first Grammy nomination for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical. In 2021, Chromeo showcased their vibrant onstage personas with their first concert album, Date Night: Chromeo Live!

Chromeo at The Commodore, August 2, 2011

by MJAJ on 2011-08-04Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

Quel concert superbe! Quelle voix! What an amazing concert it was! Chromeo put on a fantastic show that had the crowd wanting more. Two rounds of 'Chromeo-oh-oh' led to double encores. The opening act, Humans, was decent too!

    Chromeo concert

by chiawa on 2011-07-30Edmonton Event Centre - Edmonton

I thought Chromeo was awesome; they did not fail to impress/entertain me. I did not enjoy Dev and the Cataracs very much, I feel like they were on stage for quite a long time and didn't even play their own music. They seemed to play remixes of everyone else's music. I wasn't impressed with the fact that the concert did not start until 11:15 pm. I went at 9:00 pm because that's what time I was told it started so I ended up sitting around doing nothing for two and a quarter hours. What I really wanted to see was Chromeo and they didn't play until 12:30 and by that time I was exhausted from sitting around for three and a half hours. Also, I paid for seats and the Edmonton Event Centre is actually a bar and there is zero assigned seating.

Great show by Chromeo!!! Even though it started much later than expected. We had to stand in line for a good while & it was REALLY cold. Also the 2nd opening act went on for too long.

by michsilv on 2011-01-25The Opera House - Toronto

Young Empires were unreal! Such a great opener for Chromeo. They are so full of energy and it's so obvious they are passionate about their music. Chromeo was a dream!!! Their music is fun to listen to, but you have to see it live! It's a whole other level. Honestly, one of my favourite concerts I've been to.

by Anonymous on 2010-08-04The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

The opening act Telephone was horrible (girl dancing around like a hot mess made her voice really weak)... Holy Ghost (holy bass!!) made up for them and then Chromeo KILLED IT!!! So many songs I wanted to hear! I guess they couldn't have done them all... Will definitely be seeing them again whenever they come back!

    Chromeo Killed it

by jimirazz on 2010-08-04The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

solid opener, holy ghost. little long in between holy ghost and chromeo but i assume it was because of p thugs old school gear. regardless, as soon as they hit the stage with thier chromeo chant people knew the dance party was about to begin. they dropped the fancy footwork hits, new tunes and finished off with night by night. they did play new songs from business casual which im really excited to hear. venue was great but damn it gets super hot in there.
