My wife, granddaughter and I really enjoyed Alberta Ballet's performance of "Cinderella". It was one of the best we have seen because, not only was the dancing spectacular, as usual, but the humour incorporated into the performance made all the difference. Instead of portraying the two step sisters as mean, they were goofy, and both performers did a fantastic job of displaying that humour.
I had goosebumps the whole time! Outstanding! Can’t wait to go back!
A beautiful performance; excellent choreography; the lead, as Cinderella, was outstanding. Element of humor, in the form of the two stepsisters, was brilliant. Special compliment to the team of horses for Cinderella's carriage; they were perfect and extremely well played. So nice to be back at live performances, without masking and QR codes. Bravo!
I think my favorite part was the set, it surely did take you away to a beautiful fantasy world! I was mesmerized by all the dancers, what a wonderful performance from all!
The performance, venue, photo op sets were all excellent. A very enjoyable event. A bit shy on the swag tho! I was there with my 5 granddaughters; I know we would have purchased swag ie. T- shirts, hair accessories, mugs, note books, posters!!
My daughter and I experienced a magical journey watching the wonderfully amazing ballet dancers flow freely on stage! The enchantment, elegance, with an added touch of humour is what made this experience such a memorable one!
Boring.... The music is mediocre, the performance is also quite weak. The costume of Cinderella is very disappointing. There are 2 Asian dancers who are very professional, but due to their height they are not the main dancers in this show. One of them is the jester. My rating is low because I compare this show to the Russian ballet which is the best in the world.
First feature length performance for my 5 year old granddaughter. Wonderful family friendly entertainment. The performance length was just right. Sets were amazing. Wonderful Mother's Day afternoon spent with family. 💕
I bought my tickets back in December planning ahead for my two beautiful granddaughters Birthdays, April and June! My lovely Daughter in law joined us as well! What a fun day, taking part in the Treasure Hunt, having pictures taken in the Fancy chairs, buying Ballerina Dolls as mementoes and listening to my Granddaughters laugh out loud during the comedic episodes of the production! However, the most memorable moment was on the drive home when my youngest granddaughter commented ( and this was her first Ballet experience) "no one told me there would be no talking"! Kids say the darnedest things!!!
What a beautiful performance, it was intriguing and captivating. Had a wonderful time.
My daughter who is 4 was so excited to see her firat ballet. Love the venue. She was dissapointed though that she could not get a tiara...a bit more planning to have those for an afternoon show with lots of kids would have been nice. We also couldnt get snacks as the lines were so long and slow. Basically, i came to spend money for the experience but ended up not being able to. The ballet was good, but a bit slow. I might suggest more upbeat versions when you know lots of kids attending. The step sisters comedy was the selling point. Ill try again, but seriously as a buisness you could have done better.
Cinderella was amazing! The joy we all experienced and the smiles on our granddaughters faces created memories that will be cherished forever. Thank-you!
I saw this performance a few years ago and loved it. I was excited to take my grown up daughters for Mother’s Day. Honestly, I was disappointed. The dancing was fine but I felt the costuming was a bit boring. If it weren’t for the ugly step sisters livening things up I would have found it very lackluster
Overall it was okay, I know the Ballet Dancers worked hard, but the best part in whole play were the clumsy evil stepsisters! wouldn't go back to see it again!
The show was amazing ! The only thing that was a bit disturbing was yo hear people eat and drink. There was a lot of sounds, because the goblets are in plastic and they were all throw on the floor.
We had excellent seats,could see the expressions on there face,totally awesome
Cinderella and the Prince were wonderful and dreamy and romantic and all those great things -- but I LOVED the step-sisters! The night I saw it, the two dancers who portrayed them were totally in sync and worked together to be the highlight of the show.
I took my Granddaughter to this as her first ever ballet and she was entranced. It was well done and the sets and costumes were fantastic. My only sorrow is that Alberta Ballet no longer makes hard copies available to patrons, not even for a cost! These events are milestones for many people and to take away the program to keep as a forever memory is part of the experience and keeps it alive. Please, please make hard copy programs available - even if you have to charge a few dollars for one - it's very important for people's, especially kid's memories.
It was kind different adaption of Cinderella, while keeping the origoinal story it added some comic interpretation to story
It had everything! Beautiful funny, romantic! The Step-sisters were hilarious, the costumes were lovely, the dancing fantastic.
