Cortéo—an Italian word meaning "cortège" or procession—was a contemporary circus show about a clown who watches his own funeral taking place in a carnival-like atmosphere. It was partly inspired by The Grand Parade: Portrait of the Artist as Clown on display at the National Gallery of Canada.
The way the stage was set up was very difficult for everyone to see! This was the most disappointed show I have ever seen of Cirque de Solei
Great show, as always. I’m absolutely in love what this circus produces, and there are no exceptions. Though this production was rather small to some of the others I’ve seen, it still managed to hold my attention captive over its entire length, and inspired imagination and dream for days and night to follow.
Great stage setup, and the floating balloons was the highlight. But overall Corteo lacked the creativity and magic of other Cirque shows. I can't remember a wow moment. Have to say I am a little disappointed.
It was an amazing show, I highly recommend this one . The performers were inactive and amazing .
good and entertaining show. music and acrobatic acts entertaining. B+ for acrobatics. one comedy act with "little"people around a fireplace stage not entertaining and was of questionable taste. otherwise worth seeing.
What an amazing show !! Even the musicians were entertaining on their own !! I love the fact that the music was live. Truly entertaining from the moment the curtain was drawn until it came down. Can’t wait for the next show to come here.
There was too much talking by the performers during the show. The storyline was confusing. I've been to quite a few Cirque shows in the past, and this was easily my least favorite. The arcobatics were okay, but nothing spectacular. The stage was set up in the middle, and once the curtains went up you could see the audience on the other side, which was neat, but it also really limited what the performers could do.
As always, Cirque does not disappoint! From amazing singing/music performances to creative costumes and entertaining scripts. And of course, entertaining acrobatics with succinct timing! Corteo was hilarious and original on so many levels. Would absolutely recommend. Great family outing.
Beautiful intimate setting for this show, to bad the seats are so tight together for comfort!
It was the first opportunity to watch alive th show.
Visiting Cirque du Soleil has been my longtime dream. I am very pleased that I visited, the actors and athletes showed a wonderful circus performance. Bravo! Thank you, Grazie! p.s. one, two,... eleven🙂😘
It was great. The artists are extremely talented and professional. I loved every single act. My heart raced quite a few times by all the different acts. Definitely will go again!
I took my 3 young children, we were all amazed by the athleticism and strength and daring stunts of the cirque acrobats! It’s like nothing I’ve seen before. The props and set was wonderful, our seats were the poorest possible, far back and off to one side but we still loved the show. The message/story is subtle but beautiful and remarkable. The show ran from 7:30-9:45 with a 25 min intermission.
The show was great, with the people walking upside down and cycling high in the air. The regular circus acts were well done, especially with the mixed gender performers. Even the the floating angels, that created the snow globe effects on stage. The mix of stage performers added another dimension to the story presented. The floating balls over the audience was a real hit. The layout seemed odd, when compared to prior performances. Also, Wish I knew the storyline ahead of show, to better appreciate the theme. Way to go Mario and crew!
We’ve gone to quite a few Cirque Du Soleil shows and they really seemed to drop the ball with this one. The story line was boring, there was nothing REALLY all that exciting about Corteo except when the lady floated around the arena, some of the acts were just too long & there were no contortionists. The entire thing lacked excitement and quite honestly seemed a little droll. So much so I checked my watch a few times throughout the show. Fingers crossed the next production is back up to Soleil’s regular high standards!
it is first time I see such creepy stage orientation, didn't expect that our seats will be so far and inconvinent. Expected that the stage will be rounded as always before. Performance was ok, but without wow effects. Will wait for the next shows and will pay more attention to choose right seats with good observation. Anyway, Cirque du Soleil is my love for ever!
Truly an amazing show. it was action from start to finish and the flow from one performance to the next was such a smooth transition that you couldn't see the teardown and setup as the performance continued. Music was superb and you could feel the enthusiasm of each performer. I will definately be going to the next one and the next one etc.
I’ve seen Michael Jackson and On Ice, and they were just AMAZING so I was a little disappointed by this one. I was expecting magic acts inbetween scene changes or juggling acts. Sorry. 2nd act was more what I came for and was GREAT to watch.
This was the second time we went to see this show. It was even better than the first time. I saw things I hadn't in the first show. Just keep doing exactly want you are doing. Thank you for such incredible encouragement
The show was nice but i expected much higher than their performance. Kingston is already used to watching good circus performer coz Buskers come every year. Peoples expection is way too high coz they perform around the world. Just that its nothing special.
