    Quidam in YVR

by Kaliper on 2011-03-14Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - Vancouver

This show is fantastic. The audiance interaction is the best of any Cirque show I've been to.

All in all, a good show!

by Dawnalicious on 2011-03-14Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - Vancouver

I didn't know what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised and had a really good time. I'm glad I went and might see them again in another city with a different theme. All in all, a good show!

    Good but not great.

by Anonymous on 2011-03-14Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - Vancouver

I have seen several Cirque shows, Calgary, Vegas, Orlando, London UK. Loved them all and enjoyed this one. But it was not as good. Maybe it was the setting in Rogers Arena. I don't know if Vancouver was the first stop of this current show but it seemed like some of the acts were making small misstakes. Will continue to go to and look forward to Cirque.

    Better in the Big Tents

by Jenem on 2011-03-14Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - Vancouver

Quidam is the 5th Cirque show I've been to. The first 4 shows were amazing, so I was very excited for Quidam. When I realized Quidam was in Rogers Arena I was a little disappointed, as all the other shows I've been to were in the big tents, and that really contributes to the whimsical circus atmosphere of the event. The major disappointment was the fact that I specifically bought pre-sale seats which would have been excellent in the tents, but were terrible in Rogers Arena. Not only were they much further from the stage than they would be in the tents, but they were behind the area where the sound and lights etc were controlled so the bright computer screens were very distracting the entire show. My seats were not low priced. And I feel like there was a lack of big props and beautiful backdrops used in this show as a result of it's being in Rogers Arena. Perhaps I'm wrong here, but all the other shows I've been to have had beautiful curtain backdrops that the lights play off, and large props, like carousels and bicycles, flying through the air, and I wonder if the lack of these is because the tents have special equipment to handle them? Regardless, the stadium atmosphere is disappointing and I will not be going to another Cirque show in Rogers Arena. As for the Quidam show itself, I was somewhat disappointed in the costumes. I love the beautiful colours of the costumes in all the other shows, and the sequins and painted faces. This show didn't feature much of that. There were a lot of all-white ghost-like costumes, as well as a group dressed in distressed denim coveralls. Not all that spectacular to look at. The performers were amazing, as usual, and the reason why I overall enjoyed the show.

    Waste of money

by BobbyDT on 2011-03-14Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - Vancouver

Nothing special at all. I have seen several Cirque Du Soleil shows and this was probably the worst. The only good part was the mime artist, which was not even anything acrobatic. If you're looking for good acrobatics, this is not the show to see. Extremely disappointing - I fell asleep!

    Profound!

by Marica on 2011-03-13Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - Vancouver

It took me a while to understand the story - the drama and all the acts! This is the second time I have watched a Cirque de Soleil Show and am comparing to Kooza, this one is subtle!

What can I say... it is Cirque!!

by Cirqfan on 2011-03-13Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - Vancouver

A wonderful show. I have seen Cirque in the tents in Vancouver, in Vegas and now here, In Rogers Arena - home of the Vancouver Canucks. Cirque is a show to let your imagination take over. A sensory holiday in fantasy with music, light, talent and imagination. All in all a wonderful experince. What I miss was the grandeur of Vegas and the intamacy of the tents in Vancouver. With the distance from the stage (luckily we had binoculars) we missed some of the detail we loved but, undeterred, we would do it again!!!

I love cirque du soleil, and I go every time it comes to town. Not impressed with the stadium show, and I really missed the Grand Chapiteau (sp?). Also, much of the stadium was empty, entire sections missing. Not a good atmosphere. I don't think I'll go to a stadium show again.

    Arena Cirque disappoints.

by Dafriz on 2011-03-13Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - Vancouver

The arena experience is not a true Cirque experience. The tents offer good viewing from everywhere (except behind posts). The floor seats were just to low (and uncomfortable) and it was hard to see the stage from anywhere behind the front row. The pre show and intermission was just like any hockey game -beers, cheap wine and bad food. The tent is a much fuller, high end experience. We went looking for champagne and imported beer and to be immersed in the Cirque culture - this was no where to be seen. I always like the shows but this version doesn't warrant the same ticket prices.

Quidam continues Cirque du Soleil's tradition of excellent shows. Not as extravagant as some of the other shows I have seen but still well worth it. Enjoy! :)

    quidam

by anaconda on 2011-03-13Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - Vancouver

The show was good. I have seen better Cirques before. I think Rogers Arena was to much of a venue for them. I think the venue was too big for their show. I believe they should have done it in the tent as before. The show was good but not the best I've seen. Prices were to expensive too. The venue had a lot of seats empty and I think they should have move the people in the cheap seats to a much better seats if they were empty..... which they were. Overall good show

    Cirque was a trip

by Stepjan on 2011-03-13Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - Vancouver

The Cirque show was quite the experience for me. My first time seeing one of these and I was really impressed. The skills and talent of all involved in this show is unbelievable. My girl and I really enjoyed the show. One little downer was the floor seats are a litlle obstructed.

    Cirque du Soliel

by mrea on 2011-03-13Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - Vancouver

I have seen all the shows that have come to Vancouver under the tent and they have been amazing but this was a disappointment. in the tent you can see everything from any seat but at the arena you could not really even see the costumes properly. We were sitting just level with the entrance. the first half was slow and had too much filler and not enough of the great acts that they are known for. Would not recommend this for a first timer. It was still good but not great.

Amazing Display BUTa more intimate setting needed

by Squezzix on 2011-03-13Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - Vancouver

Loved the show, but Rogers arena was not the place to have it. It was too big and most seats were to far from the stage. The Coliseum or in the Big Tent would have been a more crowd pleasing venue. The artists were amazing, funny, engaging and inspiring. The contraption for moving people on and off the stage was a wonder to watch. Thank you for coming to Vancouver again and again.

    Amazing!

by Lhotell on 2011-03-12Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - Vancouver

I LOVED this show! Cirque never ceases to amaze me! The aerial acts were unreal and exciting. The stage set up was great, even though it was in Rogers arena (big arena) it felt like a small intimate show. This is a must see!

    A sensory masterpiece

by Toph on 2011-03-12Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - Vancouver

Everytime I see Cirque du Soleil I am amazed, and this time was no exception. The show was both a mix of intricate story-telling, jaw-dropping acts, and hilarious interludes, all tied together with amazing live music. The entire act makes both young and old feel like a kid again, and I'd recommend Quidam to all without hesitation.
