    Gotta love that desert sun

by Kinz on 2010-04-29Empire Polo Club - Indio

For a gigantic festival, I found Coachella to be well organized and a lot of fun. Food options were decent, lineups were generally at a minimum, toilets were plentiful and relatively clean. The only complaint we had was how difficult it was to walk from stage to stage at night... there were so many more people in the evenings, and they would just sprawl out on the grass anywhere. Fenced off walking areas might be helpful... But it wasn`t a huge detractor from the overall awesomeness of the weekend!

Never been to Coachella before. Next to giving birth to my son, it was the most awesome.

    JayZ. Thom Yorke.

by Anonymous on 2010-04-28Empire Polo Club - Indio

Some fantastic headliners as well as unlisted acts. Heineken tent had some fantastic DJ's (Donald Glaude). Majority of the event staff (if not all) were volunteers and had inconsistent information. Most tried to be helpful. Parking was hectic and the lineup to get in was long, but given the amount of people it was as expected.

Coachella was the best weekend of my life

by Ebob on 2010-04-27Empire Polo Club - Indio

It's pretty much impossible to describe Coachella. It dwarfs any concert or festival I've ever been too. I saw almost 50 bands in three days. The food was good, it was pretty well organized and it was the biggest party ever.

Amazing overall experience. The only thing that was negative was the increased number of attendees. Personally, I would be willing to pay an extra 25% for a 25% decrease in number of tickets sold next year.

    Nearly Perfect

by Plastered on 2010-04-22Empire Polo Club - Indio

Upon arrival our first impression of the festival was jaded due too poor management of the wrist band distribution. It took us two hours of standing in line to get our wrist bands. Once 2 out of 3 of my friends got thedm they decided it would be a better idea to let the near 6000 people congested at the gate through without getting their wrist bands. This was hilarious because it turned into what a fellow runner called the "Coachella Marathon"! Everyone started running down the main entrance road thinking that there would be another mass line-up at the next set of gates, however this was not so. Once through the gates it was an absolute spectacle, with something to do and see for everyone. The audio/visual was the best production I have ever seen, and every artist brought their A-game. If you are thinking about buying tickets for and subsequent years, I would tell you that you would be a fool to not attend. Fully Plastered!!!

    The Disneyland of Festivals

by VancityRecon on 2010-04-21Empire Polo Club - Indio

This was my first trip to Coachella and it was epic! Flew down with the girlfriend from Vancouver BC, worked in LA for a few days and rented a Black on Black Dodge Challanger for the drive (only way to rip up those Desert highways, Im not really a Camery type of guy if you know what I mean). I wasnt sure if this was going to be harsh LA stuck up scene but the people were all cool(even the cops) and just out to have a good time. The music was amazing and the fairgrounds are clean and well kept. Also I loved how the theme seemed to be everything was human powered (example they had a dj stage that would not work unless you had people to ride exercise bikes or run on giant gerbil tracks to power the equipment....very cool). I didnt camp (girlfriend wont go 3 days without a hair dryer) but it looked like alot of fun with the different displays (light up swing sets and jungle gyms), all night dance floors (festival orginized), and late night roller skating rink with rentals that ran all night!!! I will be back for sure next year .... And Im bringing the whole Vancity crew to rep the spot. Coachella 2011 baby!!!!!!

    Awesomeness

by canadianwombat on 2010-04-21Empire Polo Club - Indio

Make this quick and dirty. A great weekend with 75000 great people. The music, the art, the people, hell even the cleanup crews were all top notch. I took back so many great memories and I'm sure there are a few good times that I can't remember. If you go next year and assuming that they still have it, you have to do the car camping. It made the experience for me. Met so many cool people and it feels like the experience doesn't end. A few recommendations for the organizers for next year. 1. Have more showers and make them available for longer periods. 2. Have shows go later in the evening. We're in the middle of the desert... why is there a time cap? 3. Either reduce the number of tickets sold or increase the size of the venue. 4. Create a few more areas like the Do Lab where you could go chill in the shade and get sprayed with water. Being Canadian, not used to the intense desert heat. These are small points relative to the good ones. Keep up the good work and keep booking awesome bands and I'll keep going.

Coachella was glorious! The bands were awesome and everyone was in a good mood...a good vibe overall! However, since there were so many people, it was hard to see the bands sometimes, but thankfully they had huge tv screens on either side of the stages which streamed the performer live. Also, the amount of people (75,000 in one day) made it take awhile to get from stage to stage. There were 2 outdoor stages and 3 tents, so there was always someone playing that you wanted to see! So plan to get to whatever performer you want to see at least 10 or 15 minutes early. BRING SUNSCREEN ha...afterall, it is in the desert. Oh and it takes HOURS to get a cab home, so ride with some locals or bring your own bike!

    AMAZING!

by jadelee on 2010-04-21Empire Polo Club - Indio

The entire Coachella festival was incredible. The only problem/complaint I would have was the parking/driving situation. We spent about 5 hours in the car waiting to park. If you are planning to go, research the Shuttle services or camp on the Coachella site and get there the day before. Since it was my first time, I had no idea about the parking and that it would be that long of a wait. But once inside, the festival was a blast!

    Oasis in California

by TK2010 on 2010-04-20Empire Polo Club - Indio

I have done this event 4 times and every year it gets better. Music was not the best of all the years but the event is a blast. Dance tent was way too loud this year. Bring ear plugs if you want to properly enjoy. But overall the orginization is unreal and the environment is second to none.
