Great music, great cool old venue and Colin was quite the entertainer.
Great venue with fantastic entertainers!! Only negative was lineups for bathrooms and drinks and was too warm in the building
Colin James & his band were fabulous!! I’m so excited to be able to get back into seeing concerts and he was amazing. I couldn’t stop dancing in my seat…pretty sure the person next to me was like “whoa” she’s not stopping lol he played all the songs I love.
I missed the Little Big Band though and I prefer when they play all the old stuff, not the new music that I do not know, but he is REALLY GOOD
The Ally Venable Band were a good choice to open the show. The girl can play the guitar and was impressive. Colin James never disappoints. He engages well with the crowd without overdoing it. His band was rock solid. He had several forays into the audience all the while soloing without missing a beat. He is a great guitarist and isn’t shy about showcasing his talent. Show highlights for me were Voodoo Thing, which he opened the show with, Open Road, Oh Well (a Peter Green era Fleetwood Mac tune), A Man’s Gotta Be A Stone, the first encore - Van Morrison’s Into the Mystic. It was a two hour show that maintained the audience’s attention throughout and was worth every penny.
Big Colin James fan, 4th time live.. The Jube is such a great venue for his voice, his band. It was fabulous!
Colin gave an excellent performance at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium in Calgary. We were very impressed with the band's overall performance, Colin's guitar playing virtuoso, and the banter/humour that Colin added to the show. Overall a class act and top notch musician. Add to that the excellent set of songs that he put out on the playlist including the old "rock" favourites including Five Long Years, Voodoo Thing, Just Came Back, etc, plus some blues standards as well as mixing in his own blues inspired songs from recent albums. Overall, Colin gave us a night to remember. Thank you, Colin.
I don't think the opener was introduced. I may have missed it, but I don't think so. Have concert venues thought about a Land Acknowledgment before the performance?
Colin was absolutely amazing! He entertained us from the first song to the encore! Him and his band are incredible and it was the best party on a Sunday night!
Colin James is not only a Blues Icon, but a truly gracious and talented Canadian artist as well.
Great sound in the Jubilee Colin still has it and plays like he always has. Smaller venue which added to the enjoyment of the show
An amazing show. My wife and I had a huge smile from start to finish. Colin James was outstanding. His band was fantastic. What a great night. Thanks Colin! We will definitely see him again when he comes to town.
Seeing Colin for about the tenth time, I believe he is the best Blues / Rock performer Canada has ever produced. His skill with the guitar is second to none. His voice keeps getting better with age. The artists he surrounds himself are the perfect compliment to his style. His backstage crew all know there roles and make sure the performance is totally professional. The music mix he played was great. He had the girls dancing in the aisles by the end of the show. I would not hesitate to go see him again and again. Awesome night was had by all. Thanks to you MR James.
Collins five man band was simply outstanding with two hours of solid nonstop music. It couldn’t have been better. He is a true down to earth performer. Excellent musicians.
Fantastic venue and an even better concert. Colin James does not disappoint. It's been 31 years since I saw him last and he's aged like a fine wine. He just keeps getting better 💗
Amazing guitarist - Colin James, the jew of the prairie.
Awesome Concert!! Great venue! Wonderful staff! Clean venue!
We love love love Colin James but the performance was way too loud. What a waste of a wonderful venue.
The new album has some great tracks and of course, he also played some oldie crowd favorites His vocals were on point and the band was solid and tight! Always a great show and he didn't dosappoint
Anyone who loves a good old fashion rock/blues concert, make the effort to see Colin James and his band. A spectacular display of guitar playing, with a first rate band backing him up. Some old hits mixed with a sprinkle of his fantastic new ‘Open Road’ songs, and some legendary covers too. Just a great night at the Jub in Calgary on Oct 2nd.
