Come From Away on Tour
The true story of the small town that welcomed the world.
Broadway's COME FROM AWAY has won Best Musical all across North America!
The New York Times Critics' Pick takes you into the heart of the remarkable true story of 7,000 stranded passengers and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them. Cultures clashed and nerves ran high, but uneasiness turned into trust, music soared into the night, and gratitude grew into enduring friendships.
Don't miss this breathtaking new musical written by Tony® nominees Irene Sankoff and David Hein, and helmed by this year's Tony-winning Best Director, Christopher Ashley. Newsweek cheers, "It takes you to a place you never want to leave!"
On 9/11, the world stopped. On 9/12, their stories moved us all.
We came from away to see the show. We live in the interior
Come from Away is a masterfully written musical that takes the audience on an emotional rollercoaster, blending humor, heart, and hope. It is a fast-paced, high-energy show, which focuses on the goodness of people, the power of community and the resilience of the human spirit in the midst of tragedy. The fast-paced storytelling keeps you engaged from beginning to end, and you will be moved and uplifted while your cry and laugh and ultimately celebrate the triumph of human kindness. Come from Away leaves a lasting impression and is a must-see for anyone seeking a show that speaks to the heart.
So good. All the feels. Captured the spirit of Newfoundland and our Canadian culture so well. Showed so many perspectives on a tragic world event with empathy, thoughtfulness and humor. Highly recommend it!
Absolutely loved the show, was funny, emotional, touching and very entertaining. Couldn’t recommend it more.
We absolutely loved the show, it was excellent. The talent, the acting, the story made for one of the best shows we have seen. We love the Queen Elizabeth Theatre and the shows that are brought in to perform in this beautiful venue. Although we live in Kelowna, we make a point of trying to see at least one show a year in Vancouver.
Fabulous, funny, touching, heartwarming - it made me proud to be Canadian.
Was an excellent show! Had me laughing, crying, and dancing in my seat!
Great story. Wonderful talent. An excellent production!
The entire performance was brilliantly done, with emotion, and humor. It brought back the memories of 911 and truly gave us all the feels. A must see!
Come from Away was decent enough for what should have been a low price small venue show, but certainly not the Queen E. it was very similar in sophistication as many small theatre shows I have been to, and in that, it was fine, even enjoyable, but it lacked all the elements a stage like the Queen E calls forth from loftier productions.
This is an amazing show, not to be missed. Being from Atlantic Canada I really appreciated the accurate portrayal of community and fabulous music. I saw the show years ago in Toronto and brought my mother to see it this time in vancouver. I suspect I will see it again in future, it is just that good!
I love how finally we have a story to tell of human kindness! Loved the whole experience
Have seen before and both productions were excellent!. Makes you proud to be Canadian and remind us in these times of the unconditional good and selflessness in people when needed. Energy was contagious. Humorous in parts. Content stayed true to events. A respectful performance of Newfoundland culture and the people who stepped up regardless of their personal situation at the time. A smaller community that did a huge job. Laughed, cried, and was reminded what it means to be a human being and how we can all support each other, especially in a time of crisis. Only negative is with Ticketmaster requiring digital tickets. When system working, then OK. When not, problematic - takes away from enjoyment of production before it starts. Have had issues at Frozen (companion had problem with tickets) and Come from Away (I experienced problems); issues solved but not a pleasant start. Do understand, and appreciate the focus to reduce paper and respect the environment, but should have an alternative option.
Certainly we shall tell everyone how much we enjoyed the show.
We saw Come From Away at the QE this week & it was amazing! Definitely one of the best musicals I’ve ever seen. A wonderful blend of humour and emotions. The actors were fabulous, each seamlessly portraying different characters. With only one set, they did a great job of taking you to a different location for each scene. So well done - can’t wait to see it again!
The story was brilliantly executed, giving theatre attendees a tremendous sense of pride, of how we responded and cared for 7000 unexpected visitors. It gave us a deep emotional experience of what it meant to be Canadian. The entertainers did a masterful job of switching roles multiple times, without losing the audience in any of transitions. Not a single negative experience. Also enjoyed the opportunity to give the musicians the credit they deserved.
Come From Away does such a phenomenal job recreating the fears, anxiety, distrust and pain that was 9/11. But it also reminds us that despite what happens, human kindness will pull us through. Particularly Canadian kindness. The songs are catchy, evokes emotion and the jokes are so well timed and humorous. It is a definite must see!
Twenty four years ago I was one of the passengers who flight was diverted to St. John’s. My own experience was very similar to the one shared in musical. It was emotional but also filled with laughter time spent at the memorial university of St.John’s. Great production!
Energetic, entertaining, amusing and deeply moving. One show to see over and over.
I remembered...I cried...I laughed...and at the end...I danced! Bravo! Thank you!
