Come From Away on Tour
The true story of the small town that welcomed the world.
Broadway's COME FROM AWAY has won Best Musical all across North America!
The New York Times Critics' Pick takes you into the heart of the remarkable true story of 7,000 stranded passengers and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them. Cultures clashed and nerves ran high, but uneasiness turned into trust, music soared into the night, and gratitude grew into enduring friendships.
Don't miss this breathtaking new musical written by Tony® nominees Irene Sankoff and David Hein, and helmed by this year's Tony-winning Best Director, Christopher Ashley. Newsweek cheers, "It takes you to a place you never want to leave!"
On 9/11, the world stopped. On 9/12, their stories moved us all.
Enjoyed our seats in section K. Some performers were harder to hear than others as the band sometimes overpowered the actors.
This performance was excellent! My issue is with floor seating, wouldn’t purchase it again. Spent most of the evening trying to see around people’s heads. Poor seating is a money grab in my mind, staggering chairs on the floor would be an easy solution, like laying a brick wall. Maybe a bit of money lost but balanced with happy customers and good venue reviews!
The storyline encapsulated the emotions of the airline passengers of diverse backgrounds - the fear of the unknown, the frustrations once knowing what occurred, the large undertaking of the people of Gander to organize accommodations and meals, and the blending of religious backgrounds in their hour of need. This was a very talented cast of performers, who narrated the storyline in song and through expression in dance. A wonderful performance that I would highly recommend for everyone to see.
The music was to load for the female voice of the airplane captain. It was difficult to make out what she was singing
Saw the show on Wednesday then brought my family to see it on Friday. I enjoyed it even more the 2nd time. Such a talented group of actors. This incredible story was told so well. A must see!!
SUPERB! If possible, we'd love to see it again, it was that good. The play made us nostalgic for the past, when Canadians in general were known throughout the world for having a reputation of being kind, compassionate and gracious, when sewing a maple leaf on one's backpack afforded the traveller a warm welcome all around the world. Thank you, residents of Gander, Newfoundland, for reminding us that extending blanket kindness and generosity, regardless of a recipient's race, gender or sexual orientation, is an extremely powerful antidote to hatred.
Come from Away, the musical, the play was wonderful. Great acting, music, humour, real life experiences of all those involved, perspectives of the stranded passengers, the local Newfoundland community, left us feeling all the emotions of 9/11. Bravo! Our preference would have been if the play had been at Neptune Theatre, orThe Halifax Dalhousie Theatre, in Halifax instead of the Scotia Center which of course is larger but certainly not comfortable. We saw two seniors fall at different times- clearly more help is required in such a venue- help for people who may not see the raised steps that appeared without warning, the metal rods on the floor that extended from the chairs etc. that people do not see when the crowd is large. A suggestion would be to have ushers take people who would like help to their seats.
Wonderful performance! Five star all the way! If there is time yet to get a ticket do so.
The same group of performers, the same stage set, wow! Who thought it was possible to portray a worldwide horrific event such as this with vivid memories coming alive. All responsible for this play should be extremely happy with their results. Incredible! Congratulations to the wonderful performers! Job well done!
Very professional and captured the true events. Stage was minimal but with a few props and realigning, you could envision the plane, the school, the community. An accurate portrayal of the people and the major event they shared. Music was fantastic.
This was by far the best performance I have ever attended. I cried or laughed most of the time, as did those sitting next to me. The choreography was incredible, the characters and the music perfect and the portrayal of Newfoundlanders was spot on. Made me proud to be half Newfie and married to one. I would go back in a heartbeat, my thanks to all involved.
The whole performance was absolutely amazing! Loved it all.
Loved it, and the checkin was easy using my phone.
I was disappointed in my seat…$162.50 each and we had two pony tailed women ahead of us who kept moving this way and that. Will never sit on the floor again.
Fantastic show! Touching and funny! Made me proud to be a Newfoundlander!
The show was everything I was expecting. Since I am from New Brunswick, Canada it made me even more proud to be Canadian. My only consideration was the visibility from my seat. I was in row 9 on the floor and the stage was at times difficult to see due to tall people directly in front. I realize this is difficult to remedy but it certainly did not the beautiful story and music.
Totally enjoyed the experience…. A must see for sure ….
Love the way the story was told the sad and the funny .
Fabulous entertaining story that kept ur interest the whole time.. would watch it again!
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Come From Away! Well done!
