Music genres felt disorganized and the floor was so empty, I've never seen in that bad in 10 years of contact, maybe a dying industry or blueprint just sucks, I lean towards the latter
I’ve been going almost every year and it’s never failed me, the security was also amazing and nice awesome people🫶
Contact was fvcking awesome I’m definitely going to go to everyone that happens
Contact was the best thing that ever happened so forever thankful!! Also can anyone reply to me if if they have a recieved a poster? Because I had no idea I got a poster from contact……
It was way too cold. Shivering the whole night, even in the crowd.
The event was well organized. I had a great time there
Actually had a tough time in 2022 and even before I attended the contact I got messages about something that I could not solve by myself so I was so depressed and didn't wanna go at all. However, my friends encouraged me and I went. Day 1 was really good even though I didn't know lots of songs but it was great BUT THE DAY 2??????? OH EEEEM GEE I knew both Loud Luxury and The Chainsmokers but Loud luxury is my one and only all-time legend Dj duo. I really liked their Contact sets and then I went to the after-party I just wanted to meet them and get signatures because I really love them and Haydn who I met at after party helped me and talked to Joe about that I was top 0.1% Loud Luxury listener so they called me up on the stage TT...... I couldn't believe what was going on and it was so hard to describe. Anyways, life is not fair but it can be stretch around like a gummy. Thanks a lot for hosting the show and changing my life.
Festivals often fail due to the immense amount of staff , equipment, and talent, that need to come together in order to succeed. Let’s discuss Contact 2022 under those categories. Staff: Staffing was phenomenal. Entry lines were short, security was not overly invasive, and the amount of security, medical, and police, present made myself feel very safe. Food and beverage staffing (an issue very apparent post Covid) was beyond antiquated and thus lines for F&B were short and moved quickly. Equipment/ Venue Holding the festival in a large stadium continues to be a great call. BC Place has more than enough bathrooms, concession stands, and SPACE, for this type of event. Areas open to the public never felt crowded. Even the concert floor was well spaced out. There was a fantastic seating area in the grandstands (roughly from one 25 yard line to the other) that offered great seating viewing of the acts. You do not get this seated, spacious, experience at any other festival outside of a VIP area. I did not have VIP, thus I can’t speak to it. But given the efficient coat check, aforementioned short drink lines, and great seating and standing area, that was open to GA ticket holders, I did not long for a VIP wristband. NOTE: I am pretty sure BC Place doesn’t not have heating/air conditioning in the stadium bowl/concourse. It blazing hot this summer and freezing during the early hours of the festival on both days. Oh well, at least it was dry and I rather be cold than hot so the timing of this fest worked out well! Talent: This was my first Contact Festival. From looking at past line-ups, I believe 2022s was one of the weaker ones in terms of big, relevant, names. However, the festival of went dormant in 2020, was cancelled in 2021, and is promoted by a nightlife company… so you can infer that money is tight. Additionally, the weak Canadian dollar and inflation must be factored in. Given the factors mentioned above, I thought the line up was great. Everyone I heard over the two days was great and the crowd was always engaged. I loved seeing local DJs open up on each of the days. SEB C was fantastic and it was very cool to see local talent on the big stage. The Chainsmokers (say what you want) put on a great show. Especially when you’re not cramped into a stiflingly hot club in Vegas paying over $100 USD to get in, and $30 USD for a cocktail. The same can be said about Loud Luxury, who have become a mainstay on the Vegas Strip. All and all, my experience was fantastic. This is an expensive city but and I feel like I really got my monies-worth. I’m not a raver, but the vibe was inclusive with many different types of people. I will be buying a contact ticket every year from now on based on my first experience in 2022.
For starters the place is huge, so many people come and from my experience very good people like most raves. Music was absolutely booming, some people say it felt like the lineup was chosen just by how big the names were which, in part is true, but genuinely it was a great selection of sets, every single set distributed euphoria. ALSO Vancouver is such a sight to see and a nice place to be (especially if you enjoy your nightlife!!!) just such good vibes, its also breathtaking. To see that beauty and to feel appreciative just before going to a rave- there's something special about it. All around it was just a great experience! 9.5 out of 10 because I wish it was dated summer, Vancouver doesn't get very cold anyway though
