Great artist, poor sound quality
by rockmom on 2010-04-10Commodore Ballroom - VancouverSome artists these days really seem to rely on technology to produce an entertaining show. In this case, it detracted from the overall quality of the performance. Corrine Bailey Rae is such a talented and appealing singer with a smooth, unique voice that it was such a shame that the bass overpowered her strong vocals and there always seemed to be reverberation. Also, the overall volume of the entire concert, including the opening acts, was too loud. It was too bad because she had a good repoire with her audience and sang a nice blend of old and new songs. A beautiful and creative cover of "I Only Have Eyes for You" would have been amazing if it weren't for the poor sound system.
