Volunteers were very helpful and pleasant. Greens were stunning. Online ap for the players and course was great but only found out from another spectator. Perhaps it needs to be marketed somehow. Parking was not well handled. Volunteers didn’t provide strong directions for where etc. great day overall
Great event, really enjoyed it. Loved seeing the world’s best women’s golfers teeing it up. My only ‘complaint’ about the event was the need/reliance for the GolfCanada app. “Where are the washrooms?” - look on the GolfCanada app. “Could you direct me to the First Aid tent?” Look on the GolfCanada app. It was the standard answer for any question.
Wonderful event. Organization was very impressive. From parking and bus transfers to staff help everywhere it was remarkable. Congratulations on a first class event.
The open was amazing! Extremely well organized, including transportation from the parking lot to the club, toilet facilities were amazing, including hand washing stations, tons of garbage cans, very hardworking and friendly volunteers, and great signage. The concession stands were terrible. Long line ups, no provisions for cash payments, no napkins and condiments. The staff working the concession stands were extremely rude.
I was happy to be there but my understanding was that you couldn’t bring a chair so needless to say being elderly I was exhausted . I had bought tickets for Fan zone 15 & 18 on line. Unfortunately everyone was allowed in on a first come first served basis so there was no point in getting a ticket prior. I went home and watched it on tv.
Shuttle was perfect Setup/access to event was amazing Grounds access was well laid out Family tent was a breathe of fresh air for parents. Great time all around
I thought everything was well done - lots of parking, lots of buses to/from parking and course, acceptable food concessions, strong field of players and lots of opportunities to watch them up close, lots of marshalls to direct fans and keep things on an even keel. And, of course, the caliber of play was incredible - as was the quality of the course (a masterpiece). Quibbles: 1. Seemed like toilets were deliberately 'hidden'. 2. Could have used some traffic directors at parking lot exits after the tournament. 3. A bit more food variety would have been nice - but not necessary. 4. Fan zones were oversubscribed and never accessible at hole 18 on 3 separate tries.
This was the first time i attended an invite like this and also my daughters first time. We really enjoyed the expereince specially autograph alley but there was definitely some things that need to be addressed. We paid for parking but no one even checked if we did so alot of people just got to park for free which was silly Concessions ran out of condiments for the expensive food they were selling which was ridiculous. Preferred seating on the 15th and 18th that we purchased for Sunday were oversold so we couldnt even get a spot so we left before the end of the event because my daughter couldnt see anything. so it was a total money grab. So definitely some work to be done if they want to make this event better in the future
Wanted to see a certain player play but couldn't because there were too many people 😢 way too expensive
This was my first LPGA event and hopefully not my last. I hope to volunteer in Vancouver next year. I had late week any day tickets which worked out well. Had planned to go Thursday and Friday but due to the rain delay skipped Friday and went Saturday instead. Course was great with lots of concessions and clean bathroom facilities. My only complaint was the lack of water filling stations. We were told there were two but only ever saw one. I also saw many (not clear) bags that appeared to excede the 6" x 6" measurements specified in the allowed/not allowed lists.
It was Such a great event that I plan to attend everytime it comes to Ottawa. The women are so talented and the venue and organization was top notch.
The women were great and golfing display and great organizers of the event
Overall, the weekend was great. Hunt Club is a good venue. Only real complaint is: The set up for the rink hole was awkward. You couldn’t get to it from the 16th hole. Also, it was poor for public viewing. The private boxes took up prime space and so it wasn’t conducive to public viewing. So there weren’t spectators stand at the boards and cheering. Very disappointing as we were really looking forward to it.
We were able to follow Brooke Henderson all the way at CP Women's open. It was very well organized, had access to facilities and restaurants, lots of volunteers to guide us from one green to the next tee box, would do this again for sure.
More physical signage indicating where concessions and washrooms were as well as where to find specific holes. Signs on the tees are great but only if you can see them or follow the course in order. The on line map doesn't orient you unless you know the venue. Only opening one side of the fairway severely limited viewing options. Unless you made it to the rope you could forget seeing anything on the fairway and don't bother trying to see any of the putting. We gave up after a few holes. Not an experience I would repeat at this course.
I was so excited to be able to attend the LPGA in OTtawa as I am a player and follow the game on streaming and TV. What I wasn't expecting were the lack of sight lines ( stadium seating blocked all the sightlines near the greens and walking spectators were not able to see much ) and the ridiculous prices at the concession stands. I paid $ 65 plus HST for my tickets and I was never able to see much around the greens as huge stadium seating blocked access for spectators who were not able to pay $100's of dollars for access. The concession stands were outrageously priced.....I paid $ 12 for a light beer, one that would cost approx $ 3.25 at the liquor store . I watch golf on TV and streaming and the Americans do not block the greens for spectators by erecting huge towers of stadium seating. Why here? I will not be paying money to see another event again. So disappointing.
Great day! Organized parking and shuttle service to and from course. Friendly knowledgeable volunteers. Great venue to view golf in all holes. The only negative was the Concessions. Too expensive, disorganized, inexperienced. Coffee was $4.00 and only filled 2/3 and was Luke warm. Lunch at 13 took forever to order and then fill. Didn’t know who ordered what, not enough product availto serve customers in a timely manner. Not enough staff. And this was all prior to Brooke Henderson coming along. Water $4.00. Super hot day. We just went without. Should have had water fill stations. Not healthy and again too expensive. I understand that money has to be made but if prices were a bit cheaper people would buy more.
Fantastic! My first ever professional golf tournament and I loved it.
The Hunt Club in Ottawa is a beautiful course and an excellent place to hold this LPGA event. It was very well organized and all of the volunteers were so friendly and helpful. And, of course, the golf was superb. I would have given this event a five star rating, but the concessions were just awful. You could only get cold coffee by noon, if you could get it at all. The booths were running out of all sorts of items or didn't have any prepared on time. And the cost of the food and drinks was atrocious. $29 for 2 cold hot dogs and a bottle of water. Come on!!! Hopefully the next time those problems will be rectified. In spite of all that, it was an excellent experience.
