    Excellent stage show

by Kristin on 2018-10-01Festival Place - Sherwood Park

The smaller venue was awesome. The band put on an excellent stage show with getting the audience involved.

It was memorable but not in a good way.

by MEHP on 2018-10-01Festival Place - Sherwood Park

The sound was awful - the worst I’ve heard at Festival Place.

    EXCELLENT AND MEMORABLE

by DARBAR on 2010-10-24First Baptist Church - Ottawa

Both my husband and I enjoyed the concert immensly, very entertaining, enjoyed every minute of the concert. The location was perfect for this type of venue. We hope to see them again soon. Got our money's worth and more, they could have easily charged $40 a ticket and we would have gotten our money's worth. I would highly recommend to anyone who knows their music to not miss out on their next visit to Ottawa. Thank you!!!!!!

    Thoroughly entertaining!

by lollaRosa on 2010-10-21Myer Horowitz Theatre - Edmonton

I got these tickets for my boyfriend and I as a night out and as something different. They were quite a popular band back in the early 90's and I quite enjoyed their tunes on the radio. Aside from having a horrible cold that had me coughing consistently throughout the show, I enjoyed it. Brad Roberts, the lead singer of CTD has a distinct and trademark voice: deep and somewhat soothing. It was an entirley acoustic show, with only the guitarist, Stuart Cameron plucking away at the guitar. The rest of their show relied on Ellen Reid and Brad Roberts voices--which was quite impressive. It was funny because you normally don't know personality of singers-you only hear what's on the radio and perhaps catch a few clips off the newspapers or rare interviews of them--but Brad Roberts is something else. He admitted to smokin' up a doobie before the show (i'm pretty sure he was being serious) which was probably why he was so open and making random, sexual jokes...even about sleeping with the his opening act, Colleen Brown. It was definitely an entertaining show throughout, even though it was low-budget.

    great show

by Justafan50 on 2010-10-16The Great Hall - Toronto

Guitarist was amazing, Ellen was great, Brad was a bit off-key now and then and his patter made him sound like a bit of a dick at times...Still a very entertaining show though, with some great musical moments.

    Crash Test Dummies ain't dummies

by Duffstar on 2010-10-16The Great Hall - Toronto

This concert fulfilled a lifelong ambition to hear some of my childhood favourites live, and it was performed better than I could have hoped for. Seeing that the only accompaniment was guitar, I was concerned that the sound would be a little bare, however I was pleasantly surprised by the depth and quality of the music. Brad's onstage banter was irreverent and seemingly off the cuff, and although he might have strayed into some off-colour humour, I felt it was all delivered in good spirits and received as such. I would compare Brad and Ellen's show to a Canadian Johnny Cash and June Carter... folky, playful and altogether legendary.

Prior to the concert I was a bit apprehensive with the venue change and the fact that Crash Test Dummies were performing as a 3 piece band. However any doubts evaporated with the opening song 'God Shuffled his Feet'. It was a most enjoyable and intimate show. Whilst normally I attend concerts at Molson Amphitheatre and the ACC, it was refreshing to be in such a small venue where you are so close to the performer and the acoustics were so clear.

    Stripped down but great.

by SPKx on 2010-10-16The Great Hall - Toronto

Even though the line-up only consisted of Brad Roberts, Ellen Reid, and guitarist Stuart Cameron in an acoustic set, it was a great show that was highly entertaining with all the band's hits being played.

Just sittin' around with some friends and a guitar

by Anonymous on 2010-10-16The Great Hall - Toronto

Forget the huge stadium shows, the plethora of lights and lasers, the giant TV screens and outlandish ticket prices. This is the way a concert should be. A venue so intimate, it was like sitting around in your living room. The masterfull acoustic guitar voicings of Stuart Cameron. The etherial voice of Ellen Reid. The marvelous baritone and playful stage presence of Brad Roberts. All combining to make the show one of the most enjoyable I have ever attended. ( And believe me, I've attended plenty ). Thanks for a great experience.

    Crash Test Dummies Unplugged!

by TommyB on 2010-10-15The Studio at Hamilton Place - Hamilton

I want to say right from the top this isn't what I expected but it really grew on me. The nice harmony of Brad's and Ellen's voices complemented by a single acoustic guitar was quite pleasant. This is the kind of show I like when it is small and intimate. Where the performer can SING and not have to lip sync to an audio track. Thanks for a great evening Brad and Ellen! Come back soon.

    Crash Test dummies were disappointing

by Artsee on 2010-10-15The Studio at Hamilton Place - Hamilton

I was disappointed. With just a guitar and no other instructments the concert didn't have any quality. It was a quarter of the band .There was no audience participation. It just wasn't the Crash Test Dummies that I was hoping to see and hear.

    Crash tetst dummies Awesome

by rotty on 2010-10-15The Studio at Hamilton Place - Hamilton

The concert was small and intimate. A good way for Brad Roberts and Ellen Ried to do a acoustic set. The banter was good but the songs really stood out in fine CTD style.

The Crash Test Dummies put on a great show

by puddlejumper780 on 2010-10-14Myer Horowitz Theatre - Edmonton

I go to a lot of concerts and see a lot of shows. From sold out showa at the stadium to small shows in the local pubs and I have to say these guys did a amazing job. It was a small venue, but easily seated all that were there comfortable. The opening group was a good warm up. The Crash Test Dummies played a great show using there older hits and new releases. The band was great at making us laugh. My girlfriend and I had a great night out and suggest this show to everyone.

Wow!!! New music, same great voice!

by Michayne on 2010-10-12Myer Horowitz Theatre - Edmonton

This was a concert that we will never forget. Small, intimate (500 people), and in touch. The crowd interaction was amazing, and the sound... well... how can anyone ever forget that deep rich voice? Crash Test Dummies has always had a niche in the market, and the new music holds true to inspirations of the original line-up As long as Brad Roberts and Ellen Reid are there, nothing seems incomplete (sorry Dan, Mitch & Benjamin.... they did it without you, and did a tremendous job...) That they came out after to sign autographs and allow fans to take pictures showed how truly appreciative they are of their fans... they may have stepped a little out of the spotlight, but they have made their mark in Canadian music, and my memory. Thanks for a great night!
