DALLAS SMITH IN CONCERT:
Dallas Smith first rose to fame as the frontman of alternative rock band Default, but he's sure to rise even higher as a country rock solo artist. He's already earned comparisons to Keith Urban and Jason Aldean, and fans lucky enough to catch him live will have no trouble seeing why he's country's hottest new addition. Feel-good, hook-heavy anthems like "Trippin' Point" and "Slow Rollin'" are tailor-made for summer party soundtracks, and Smith delivers them perfectly at his live shows. A natural showman who delivers fast-paced, energetic performances, Smith never fails to have ticket buyers dancing in their boots all night long.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Vancouver-born Dallas Smith launched his music career as the frontman of post-grunge rock group Default, who enjoyed considerable success in the early '00s with their hit single "Wasting My Time". Despite the group's success, country music beckoned to Smith, and in 2012 he released his solo debut album Jumped Right In, a collection of guitar-driven country jams that landed five singles on the Canadian Hot 100. Smith racked up award nominations including Country Album of the Year at the 2013 Juno Awards and Male Artist of the Year, Single of the Year, and Album of the Year by the Canadian Country Music Association. If 2013 wasn't busy enough he also embarked on a sold-out Canadian tour with Bob Seger, played alongside Jason Aldean, and signed with Republic Nashville. His first U.S. single "Trippin' Point" was co-written by Florida Georgia Line's Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard and went platinum in Canada. Smith finished 2014 by touring with Florida Georgia Line and working on his highly anticipated sophomore album.
Loved the show!!! To bad I couldn't give it more stars!
Excellent show, with great opening acts of Lauren Alaina and Michael Ray.
What a great show! He truly is amazing and energetic. I would go see them 50 more times.
Loved the opening act Lauren Alaina. Was a bit loud but acceptable. Actually purchased several of her songs from itunes following the show. After she finished, the opening song playing prior to when he came on stage was blaring and was unusual as it was not one of his songs. We hoped once he got there it would be better, but no such luck. I like his music, and both rock and country music. I had been looking forward to seeing him live and we also had great seats. Too bad we wasted our money. The volume was ridiculous. We left after 1.5 songs as I was afraid we would seriously damage our hearing. I have been to many casino concerts and this one was way too loud. Seems like several hundred other people had the same thought and complained to the casino the next day; it was in our local news. We were some of the first to leave but many followed us. We were able to stand just outside the door for a few songs where the volume was better (but still loud!) for awhile but the volume didn't get lowered so we weren't heading back in. Very disappointing! Maybe he's used to playing in stadiums or bigger venues? His sound guys should have figured this out! Very disappointed!
Excellent variety of music, great audience participation, Sounds great live where many don't I especially love that he involves poorly known up comers in the show as well as headliners to give them exposure.
Absolutely amazing concert! Had the best time! Dallas Smith was awesome!
They say wine gets better with age, I guess the same could be said for Dallas. He gets better and better each time I see him. He was full of energy right from the first song to the last song. He did not disappoint. The crowd was on their feet the whole time. We were dancing and singing every note to every song. If you get a chance to see Dallas on this tour, get a ticket, you won't be sorry you did. The opening act Lauren Alaina was just as amazing. She was full of energy and interacted with the crowd. She wore a beautiful sequenced dressed and could sure move on that stage.
Dallas Smith was phenomenal! Surprise guests kept it interesting even though the music was entertaining on its own. The entire band was great to watch. Need to see this concert again!
Mr Smith was excellent with the quality of his music and his band. Very accommodating with selfies for his fans, with their phones .Nice tribute to Gord Downie
Thoroughly enjoyed the show. Did not know his first ever gig was Winnipeg. On the negative side I found it a little too loud.
I so enjoyed Dallas Smith! He’s such a down to earth guy! Very talented!! Enjoyed the whole show, would definitely go & see him again!
he is easily the best singer i have ever heard live. Dallas Smith is unbelievable
This was an amazing experience ! Dallas Smith, and Lauren Alaina, were both phenomenal ! They both sounded great and performed fantastic songs ! The energy was amazing, and their connection with the audience was also great ! The only thing I'd say was the seats are a little tight. But otherwise, phenomenal concert !!
What a fantastic concert! Dallas Smith sure knows how to entertain his crowd! Really enjoyed all his songs and his personal contact with the people standing on the floor. One of the best concerts I've seen and would definitely go to see him again! Also, Lauren Alaina was awesome! And so was the guy from Vancouver!
Both Dallas & Lauren put on an amazing show but the volume was far too loud. Many attending got up and left.. Our ears were still ringing the next day/
First time at a concert at the Meridian Center and it was far better than I expected
All three acts were amazing and full of energy. Loved it!!
Great concert and fantastic set list. Opening act was great too
A great show all the way through and such an intimate venue to have the concert in. All the seats were great
Was a killer show. 2nd time seeing him in concert. Was great..
