DALLAS SMITH IN CONCERT:
Dallas Smith first rose to fame as the frontman of alternative rock band Default, but he's sure to rise even higher as a country rock solo artist. BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Vancouver-born Dallas Smith launched his music career as the frontman of post-grunge rock group Default, who enjoyed considerable success in the early '00s with their hit single "Wasting My Time". Despite the group's success, country music beckoned to Smith, and in 2012 he released his solo debut album Jumped Right In, a collection of guitar-driven country jams that landed five singles on the Canadian Hot 100. Smith racked up award nominations including Country Album of the Year at the 2013 Juno Awards and Male Artist of the Year, Single of the Year, and Album of the Year by the Canadian Country Music Association. If 2013 wasn't busy enough he also embarked on a sold-out Canadian tour with Bob Seger, played alongside Jason Aldean, and signed with Republic Nashville. His first U.S. single "Trippin' Point" was co-written by Florida Georgia Line's Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard and went platinum in Canada. Smith finished 2014 by touring with Florida Georgia Line and working on his highly anticipated sophomore album.
I have seen many Dallas Smith shows!!! Shows in small venues, medium venues, indoors, outdoors... Even shows from fifteen years ago when he was "Default". Every show he plays is a great show... This was one was outrageous!!! He absolutely single-handedly Brought the House Down!!! Worth every last dollar I spent "And Then Some"... And... I was not sitting in the "Cheap Seats"
Dallas Smith is one of my favourite country artists at the moment. I've seen him three times in the past 18 months and I would see him again in a heartbeat. He's a fun performer and everyone has a good time. He's also an amazing singer, he sounds better than on the radio which is amazing. I would highly recommend going to see him if you ever get the chance! Rama was also fun, however they didn't allow any drinks into the concert which I found very strange. There was no drinking whatsoever inside the venue...
The show was really good. We really enjoyed it. This wasn't a huge deal for us but it was a dry concert and figured we would be able to have a beer and enjoy the concert. And when Dallas said raise your beer...well there wasn't any...perhaps this will change for future concerts. Like I said. Not a big deal. Just definitely did not expect it.
We enjoyed seeing Dallas Smith very much. I like the new album and his songs are great. However, when the band over powers the singer, it is not as enjoyable as it could be. I watched the new album drop on CMT again after the show and enjoyed some ballad type songs. But every song at the concert had to be full blast and all drums and bass. Why is that? Dallas, you have an excellent voice. Don't hide it! The audience was clapping but not flipping out like they should have been. I think we will just enjoy the new album and listen to Dallas on the radio as are huge fans! By the way, I wish artists would save the "selfies" and shaking hands and signing autographs and waving to the meet and greet. Everyone behind the first row of fans didn't enjoy that part (in my opinion)
This was such an amazing experience! He was absolutely unforgettable. Every song he performed was with such intensity.
Dallas Smith put on a great show to a FULL house. I have never seen it so full at the casino. It was hit after hit of great music. I was also very impressed with the way he took the time to take "selfie" with the audience or a video for someone or just wave hello as someone took a picture. I guess that is our Canadian manners coming out. All in all this was an awesome concert and can't wait until he comes back this way again!!
Dallas Smith was absolutely amazing! Would see him again in a heart beat. He really interacted with the audience and made us feel a part of the show.
Dallas Smith is an amazing singer and gave a wonderful performance - what a great entertainer!! He was very personable with fans while performing... I have never been to a concert that gave off that kind of energy.. it was great. Thank you
Dallas Smith put on a great show!! Sounds just like his cds and even threw in a old Default song. We had a great time and would totally see him again!
As usual Petric and Dallas Smith were incredible. However the venue allows people to stand up which skews the view for everyone else who didn't go to stand all night. I TOTALLY understand wanting to dance etc but the venue doesn't have a large enough slope for people to stand.
I have always loved Dallas Smith's songs and this show was amazing. I was able to sing along.
Amazing. He is so talented. Hes the best Cdn country singer out there presently. Just a matter of time before he really breaks out
Petrie and Dallas Smith were absolutely amazing. I would definitely buy tickets again :) loved it! I brought my mother in-law and she loved it!
Concert was awesome. Music was fantastic as usual from Dallas. Will go again when you come back to Saskatoon or Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada
I have seen Dallas three times, in different types of venues, this year. His music alone puts a smile on my face. Dallas' shows are energetic and a ton of fun and I cannot wait until he is back!
Concert was great, atmosphere was great. The only problem was the lineup to get drinks. It took way to long! Maybe having a beer tub would speed up the process. Keep the country shows coming!
Sound quality was non-existent, just loud noise. I couldn't even understand the lyrics :( I was so disappointed because Dallas Smith is one of my favorite artists.
Music was good, the set up was horrible. Stood in line the whole concert to get a drink. Would NEVER attend that event again.
Concert was great!! Dallas was very entertaining as usual. There wasn't a bad spot to stand in the venue. You could see from all directions. Beer lines went quickly almost zero wait time. I will definitely go again next year!!
I've seen Dallas Smith numerous times and just keeps getting better and better every concert. His voice is unbelievable and his show is always worth the money!
