  • Absolutely Fabulous

    by burlington10 on 2009-09-25Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

I go to alot of concerts - It's been long time since I enjoyed one this much. Darius is very comfortable on stage and a real pleasure to watch. I think the intimac y of Hamilton Place also contributed to the show rather than Copps of ACC it was more appealing. I guess the only negative I have is the lady that opened for him. She was delightly ful, has a great personality and a lovely voice but she didn't offer the audience the enthusiasum and style to get the show rolling. She brought the audience down to a calm and passive level which isn't what he needed. He had to bring everyone back up from being in an at home airmchair sleep. The audience should be well primed and well oiled by the time he comes out not sleepy.

From the opening song to the last encore is was an all out stellar performance. I was amazed that there were tickets left for this incredible artist . His ability to jump from country to rock and back again was amazing......10+++++

What we saw of Darius and the boys was indeed good. Too bad that they chose to or were only allowed to play for an hour, it could have been a great show. Unfortunately for both Darius and Pike, the vocals were often drowned out by the music. Very poor setup on the part of the sound crew. Darius is indeed a showman and that was evident throughout the evening. Would love to see him when he comes to put on a whole show.

  • Darius Rucker - Amazing

by birddoggirl on 2009-09-25Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

The Darius Rucker concert at Hamilton Place last night was a fantastic concert. This man really can sing and perform it all. I knew it was going to be a good concert, I just didn`t know he would sing such a variety. Fantastic. Hamilton Place is a fantastic venue and it was very disappointing not to have a full house. For you Hamiltonians that missed it, you missed quite a show.

  • Darius Rucker was AMAZING!!!!

by DRfan on 2009-09-25Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

I took my Mom to see the concert last night for her birthday and it was sooo good, one of the best concerts that I have ever seen :) I can't wait until he comes back to this area because we will be one the first people to get tickets!!! His voice is so unique and he sings with such passion. I thought that his interaction with the audience was great, it's nice when someone acknowledge's their fans and it's so real. Thanks Darius for such an AWESOME evening! Looking forward to your next country album and tour.

Great show last night! Darius has a great stage presence, and lots of energy that is addictive. The show was a great mix of old and new music. We got a power packed show that was over way too soon.

  • darius rucker changed my ideas about country

by shavo on 2009-09-25Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

i bought the tickets for my wife's birthday. i knew of his work with Hootie and the Blowfish but was not looking forward to the concert. i was completely shocked when i heard how great he sounded. it was just like listening to the CD!! the songs he played were great and very easy to listen to. i have always liked heavier music but after seeing this show i am going to at least buy his album. the venue was great as well, it was small, intimate, comfortable, and the temperature was perfect(there's nothing worse than sitting and sweating at a concert). i would absolutely recommend this venue for any concert. great show all around!!

  • Darius Rucker Incredible!!

by MAMMARIKA on 2009-09-25Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

What a show!!! Darius has a voice second to none and you just can't get enough of it. The man is a passionate showman and he puts his all into every note of every song. A good mix of the new stuff, a bit of Hootie and a few really good covers including Purple Rain as the grand final! Had a spectacular time and I highly recommend this show to anyone who simply loves good music.

  • Awesome!

by Coltsfan on 2009-09-25Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

Great sound! Great show. I would see him again and again if I could. Smaller venues are great. Darius is funny and sounds better live than on a CD. Can't wait for him to come back!

  • Darius Rucker gets country!

by RobertBen on 2009-09-25Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

Darius' opening act Leslie Pike was a woman with a great voice and a better personality! She got the crowd moving and reacting to her well. Darius came on and immediately dove into his music, reacting well with the crowd interacting with them on a personal level. He even played some of his earlier rock music in a country format. In a word GREAT.

  • Fabulous!!!

  • Keep fishin'

by LoriT on 2009-09-25Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 3 out of 5

Darius and his band were great!!! They do however need to expand their repetoire so that there is more to their show. AND, seriously, the opening act (Ms.Pike) just about put all of us to sleep. She is a very talented singer but this was the wrong time and the wrong crowd to try and get hyped for the main act. Darius and the boys have lots of talent and very, very engaging.....we just want MORE!!!

  • Good Show

by katiedbell on 2009-09-25Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 4 out of 5

Darius was awesome!!! I liked all the old Hootie songs...also I liked the Jamey Johnson he sang..and yes he should have wrote it! Leslie Pike was good...I just wished it wasn't so long and there wasn't such a long intermission before Darius started....or it would have been nice to know he wasn't starting until 9 instead of 8.... The venue was great! the concert was a little short Overall great job! I love HOOTIE!

  • Darius was excellent!

Darius' music was very enjoyable, nice to hear some old Hootie and Blowfish tunes as well, liked the venue as it was very personal and cozy.
