    David Sedaris is excellent live

by mkmatt on 2013-04-14Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

This is the first time I've attended a show that was only a reading by an author, but David Sedaris didn't disappoint. While he's reading off a page, he has the timing and instincts of a comedian, and the entire audience enjoyed the show. Having listened to some of his audio books that were recordings of live shows I had a good idea what to expect, and the show at the Sony Centre lived up to my high expectations. I'd definitely go see him again.

    Fantastic and intimate night

by tumblingdice54 on 2013-04-14Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

David Sedaris is one of the world's funniest men. We were in stitches as he read from his latest book, older poems, diary entries and he generally related life's experiences. I got far more than I expected from the evening. Highly recommended!

leave your sensitivities behind the door!

by PRUELLA on 2011-11-07The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

Very funny man, says things out loud that most of us think but would not dream of uttering. He basically reads his own stories or articles which is not what I expected. All of the topics are outside the realm of normal discourse - I have certainly never discussed with friends most of the topics that he seems obsessed by! Who knows, maybe I am the odd one! Had us laughing throughout but I probably wouldn't go again simply because it's funny once but now that I know what to expect, I am not sure if the shock value wouldn't be gone?

    David was hilarious!

by duddygirl on 2011-11-07The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

It was almost better than reading his books. He kept us in stitches the whole time and it was fascinating to see how his quirky mind works in 'real time'.

David Sedaris is my hero - I laughed continuously for almost 2 hours. Aside from the lunatic laugher who was clearly off her meds for the evening (you know who you are, lady) shrieking endlessly, piercing eardrums and drowning out David's jokes - the show was a gas!

    David Sedaris was absolutely hilarious!

by Myms on 2011-11-07The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

I had read David Sedaris and knew that my husband and I were in for a laughter-filled evening, but it far surpassed my expectations. To read David Sedaris is one thing, to see him and hear him read his stories is another. I and the rest of the audience were truly laughing in the aisles. "ROFLOL," as my daughters would say, applied without doubt. Had I known exactly what the evening would behold, I would have purchased tickets for my whole family. Bring him back again . . . and we'll all be there!

    So talented!

by iLeslie on 2011-11-07The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

The only thing better than reading David Sedaris is seeing him live. His comic timing is perfect as he reads his beautifully written, ridiculously funny stories. I was thoroughly entertained and I laughed til I cried.

    Sedaris was great!

by Weddingsinger on 2011-11-07The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

The evening with David Sedaris was absolutely wonderful. He is witty, funny, satirical and intelligent. His writing is all the above, but when he reads, his delivery makes it come alive. As a result, his voice is present now when I read his works and makes them even more enjoyable. Highly recommended.

    Sedaris Day 34...

by Jiminy300 on 2011-05-07Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

This was our third time seeing David Sedaris. He delivered his wit and insights into the world with his usual and unique flair. The only down side was hearing some of the same stories he read at a free reading at a local book store. While hearing the stories is always a pleasure, it would have been great to hear something new. Given he was on day 34, I believe of a 39 day jaunt, I think he delivered an enjoyable evening.

    Laughter is the Best Medicine

by Wolveramster on 2011-05-06Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

I went to David Sedaris feeling tired and grumpy, even though I had been looking forward to it for months. I knew it was going to be good, but I didn't realize HOW good. I laughed until tears rolled down my cheeks. I laughed until I couldn't breathe. I laughed so hard my sides hurt. And when I left, I felt elated and inspired. This show is a must-see for anyone who loves to laugh.

    Did not disappoint!

by namelass on 2011-05-05Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

My friend and I both loved the show. Sedaris's wit and playful use of the English language is wonderfully entertaining. He has the brilliant ability to bring a seemingly ordinary event into focus in a way that we can all relate.. His reading of the Baboon and the Cat was soooooooooooo funny! I can't wait for him to come back to Winnipeg!

    Greatest humourist alive!

by Anonymous on 2011-04-01National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

David Sedaris can tell a story like no one else. He is wickedly funny and can get away with saying things that might seem offensive coming from someone else. His stories or not only funny, but poignant. His works are often touching and sometimes raw. He treats his fans exceedlingly well by signing books for everyone who lines up and he always writes something special or draws a unique cartoon. I can't wait to read his next article or book!

    A cool, if different, event!

by pegger on 2010-10-25State Theatre - Minneapolis

David Sedaris put on a great show in Minneapolis! He read excerpts from his various books and other publications and answered audience questions. He's quirky and has a really funny skew on life! I love it! Stay and get a book signed; he's worth waiting to meet!
