I absolutely loved this musical from start to finish, and me and my companions both had chills with every song. The set is minimal, but brought to life with projections and splendid lighting. And above all that, actors and actresses did such a wonderful job portraying the emotions. This is a musical I will go and see at every opportunity given to me, and I'll have tissues ready every time!
Excellent story, performers all great voices, settings were simple, but was what this production needed.
Unfortunately there was technical difficulties and we only got to see the first act. Ignoring the sound system issues the performance was great and honestly I am disappointed because I was really looking forward to seeing this musical and now I won't be able to unless it comes back to Edmonton.
I attended the Wednesday night performance that was cancelled in the middle of the show. I was so disappointed! But I bought a ticket the next night and it was so amazing. I am a big theatre person… I have seen everything. Dear Evan Hanson was one of the best things I’ve ever seen on a stage and I left feeling so touched and entertained. The actor who plays Evan Hansen was incredibly believable and I watched him cry on stage each night. Unbelievable theater!
Unfortunately we attended the performance that was cancelled half way through due to technical issues. The performers handled it with a lot of class. The part we did get to enjoy was wonderful and we would have loved to have seen the rest. We live 10 hours from the venue and we’re not able to come back for another performance otherwise we would have definitely purchased for another night.
After 4 audio malfunctions, 3 before intermission, 1 after, they shut the show down. Not sure if this was a venue issue or a production issue. Feel bad for the performers. Hard to figure if the production was good or not. Based on the malfunctions I’d say not.
The show was fantastic. I was so shocked at the talent and the way they performers showed all the emotions very well. It was like a dream come true. You couldn’t get out of the fantasy it was gorgeous. The set was beautiful the actors were so talented and the whole thing was a life changing experience.
