About

Drake is hip-hop’s preeminent superstar. In less than a decade, the Canadian rapper has won five Grammy Awards, landed 11 No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, and in 2022 became the highest-selling singles artist in the history of the RIAA. Drake’s first three albums — Thank Me Later (2010), Take Care (2011) and Nothing Was the Same (2013) — were all critical successes, showcasing a pioneering sound that mixed catchy R&B hooks with heartfelt lyricism. His fourth album, Views (2016), held atop the Billboard 200 for 13 nonconsecutive weeks, smashing more records — including Drake becoming the most-streamed artist in Spotify history. That same year, he embarked on a co-headlining tour with Future that became the highest-grossing hip-hop tour of all time, grossing over $84 million across 56 dates.

    Drizzy Drake Disappointment

by BestYouEverHad on 2011-08-01Molson Amp - Toronto

First off... I LOVE OVO drake the whole bit... i love wayne too... I've been to every concert of there's in toronto... I was definitely looking forward to this one... and it was a huge disappointment. Drake barely sang... maybe 5, 6 songs TOPS! It wasn't mixed with his old school stuff... it was mostly new... he spent half the time looking through binoculars saying hi to his fans... which was cute for the first 10 minutes but not more than that... Stevie wonder is a legend... but he played LONGER than drake... and he just left the stage no encore no nothing... Wayne got the crowd pumpin he was amazing. sorry drizzy u didnt kill it this year.... last years was 5*+!!!

    Unforgettable night!

by Anonymous on 2011-08-01Molson Canadian Ampitheatre - Toronto

OVO FEST 2011 WAS AMAZING! The Weeknd did a great job starting off the show then Rick Ross pumped up the crowd but when Drake showed up I almost fainted. He sounded amazing the energy was so live he really pumped up the crowd. I have no words he brought J Cole, Nas, Stevie Wonder, and TO TOP IT ALL OF LIL WAYNE! TOOOO GOOOOOD! This was my first OVO Fest and after last night I've decided that I'm going every year. DRAKE WAS MORE THAN AMAZING <3

    LOTS OF TALKING

by Rickitwist on 2011-06-17Poolside At The Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas - Las Vegas

The concert involved Drake talking with Lil Wayne a lot! They sang about 6 songs and wasted a lot of time. Not impressed

Drake is unreal live. The light show was spectacular and the performance was amazing. He puts on a serious show.

Best Concert of My Lifeeeeeeeeeeeeee <3

by MsDrizzy on 2010-08-13Molson Ampithetre - Toronto

Drizzy Drake shut it down at The OVO (Octobers Very Own) Fest sold out concert in Toronto . He is so full of energy, interacts with the crowd and sounds good rapping and singing live. To top it all off he brought out special guests..Eminem, Jay z, Rick ross, Young Jeezy, the crowd went willlllllllddddd when they hit the stage, who else could have gotten all those Mc's for one concert. Even without the guests the concert still would have been amazing. He really put on the best concert for his city, and showed that he is the King of Toronto. It was an awesome choice for venue because it was outside instead of a building. I couldnt have asked for anything more. I am the biggest drake fan and I will be going to every drake concert in Toronto year after year. Bun B and Jeezy shut it down as well

    AMAZZZING!

by MissKD on 2010-08-04Molson Amp - Toronto

What a way to start a new month! The OVO fest was AMAZING. That is honestly the only word I can think of. Being in 7th row also made me feel like I was right there with him! The lighting was perfect! Drake really showed loved to his home town and was a great entertainer. Of course the guests really up-ed the show as well. But seriously, even without them..it would of been awesome. The crowd went wild when Eminem showed up since he has been banned for almost like 9 years and this being his first performance back in Canada. It was amazing and unforgettable! I can't wait until he comes back again!

So overall, with all features - OVO Fest gets a 12 out of 10 in my books. What other Canadian artist can call on huge names like Jay Z and Eminem to come out and perform at their homecoming show. Bun B, Fabo, Kardi, Jeezy, Mac Maine - all great acts. You can tell that Drake really wanted to give TO what they've been waiting for. Some would argue that without the big features, the fest would not have been as successful as it turned out to be.. actually even heard someone say they'd give it a 6 out of 10. NO WAY! Although there were moments in the show where I wished Drizzy would pick up the pace a bit, I'd still rate the show an 8 out of 10 if Jay Z and Eminem didn't show. Rumour has it that OVO fest is gonna be an annual event - I will keep my fingers crossed!

    Drake is unreal!

by colts47 on 2010-07-31BIG FOUR BUILDING - Calgary

Live band and light made this rap concert a performance instead of just a show. Drake is fantastic in person and he freestyles amazing. The only problem was the venue was too small! Get the saddledome next time Drizzy.

Drake was absolutely amazing! He is a very energetic performer and engages with his audience which I think is a must for a great show! His stage presence was absolutely incredible, and if you weren't too big of a fan of his before, you will be after going to one of his performances. He is an amazing live performer and should definitely not be missed whenever he comes to your town. Go check it out, you won't regret it!!!!

    Drake was Mediocre

by PHEER on 2010-07-28The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

I am a huge fan of Drake, and have been long anticipating his show in Vancouver. The performance took place at The Centre in Vancouver for Performing Arts and I think the small venue was one of the main problems with the night. There was very little leg room to stand or sit and the atmosphere was not as exciting as I expected. I personally believe Drake could've sold out a bigger venue for a better performance. The opening acts were dull; I looked around and noticed most of the audience was sitting down and uninterested. Once Drake came on the stage everyone came on their feet. He performed a wide range of songs which I enjoyed. Overall, I think Drake did a good job performing given it was such a small venue.

    AMAZING!

by hermanz86 on 2010-07-28The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

Awesome concert! The music was awesome, drake was AWESOME. The teeny bopper kids got annoying but totally worth seeing Drake so close. Loved the smaller theatre setting, way better than doing it at GM Place.

    what a classy show

by merboo on 2010-07-28The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

with all the "rap shows" i've been to, this one has got to be the best one i've seen in a long time. the venue (the centre) is considered small, but it wasn't like at a club, where general admission would have probably annoyed me. it was very intimate, and every seat in the house was a good one. drake is a class act. aside from his musical talent, he knew how to carry the crowd, how to engage them, and how to make them feel him. he's a very good performer.

    SICK concert!

by Cece88 on 2010-07-27BIG FOUR BUILDING - Calgary

Drake was amazing, very entertaining and sexyy as per usual. The only thing is I would have preferred to pay extra to have a floor seat/VIP, rather then being pushed around in general admission. Regardless, it was an awesome show and well worth it!

by Kira7 on 2010-07-27Edmonton Event Centre - Edmonton

Drake was amazing. Felt like an MTV Intimate and Interactive concert. As for the VIP Pass, made no difference!!! Which was unfortunate. But worth every penny still since Drake did a wicked show.

Amazing stage presence, insane energy and the setlist rocked. If whoever seen him that night wasn't a fan yet, they definitley are now. I would watch him again and I would recommend it.
