It was pretty good despite the 2 technical difficulties.

    Show was great...technical difficulties?

by lynzriches on 2012-08-11Air Canada Centre - Toronto

The show was fantastic -- the special effects and the dragons themselves were unforgettable. However, we were really disappointed in not one but TWO interruptions (not including the regularly scheduled intermission!) due to technical difficulties! I understand that these sort of things DO happen...but when you pay over $300 to take your family to a show, you really don't want to have to sit through interruptions like this. Would I recommend? Yes -- but I would also mention the interruptions and how disappointing they were -- ESPECIALLY to those who take young children with them and have to sit through them.

    So So

by PeanutL on 2012-08-11Air Canada Centre - Toronto

Luckly my grandchildren liked it. I personally was not impressed with the two breaks for technical difficulties! Some of the dialogue was not clear. But the dragons themselves were impressive. I would tell anyone that kids would love it.

    little disapointing

by TracyC on 2012-08-11Air Canada Centre - Toronto

our family was really looking forward to this show, but overall it was dispaointing, I am sure that our seats had something to do with it. Even though we were seated pretty high up the tickets were still pricey for a family of four. At the level we were at the view wasn't great, lots of wires ruined the effect. There were some great moments that were really impressive. Not so impressive were the number of "unplanned intermissions" they had for technical difficulties. At this stage you would think they would have the kinks worked out. With fidgety little kids having three 20 minute intermissions really frustrated us and everyone around us.

The only down side was that there were 2 show interruptions due to technical difficulties so it added another 30 minutes to the show.

    Not worth the 4 x $95.00 spent

by Deedee2001 on 2012-08-11Air Canada Centre - Toronto

The performance had potential. The movie was sooo good I had higher expectations. During our show there were 2 technical difficulties. They had to stop the show which was understandable but paying close to $400 for a night out with my family, I would expect the performance to be flawless. Also it seemed like there were not enough scene changes and never enough performers to fill up the stage. If I has paid $60 pp I would have felt I got my money's worth but definitely not $95!!!! Not impressed Dreamworks!

How to Train Your Dragon as long as it works!

by fanintoronto on 2012-08-11Air Canada Centre - Toronto

Went to 2nd night of show with my two children. Had 2 interruptions in the show due to technical difficulties - 1st one was about 20 minutes in length, 2nd one about 10-15 minutes in length and they still maintained an intermission. The technical difficulties definitely caused it to be disjointed in the story line and were long enough for people to leave their seats and use the facilities, buy things, get food & drink, and/or walk around....however, unlike an intermission.....there really wasn't a significant notice that the show was coming back on....so by the time everyone makes it back to their seats and are engage in the show, we lost another 10 minutes. That all being said, my children (ages 5 and 11) loved it.....however, with the ticket prices being so steep....I was left wondering if it was worth it. Perhaps would have felt differently if the technical difficulties would have been handled differently. We felt that it was important to share our feedback so we contacted MLSE and they immediately offered replacement tickets for any show the rest of the weekend. This is great, except, now we are trying to figure out if we can make that happen and/or if we want to see the show again...... The dragons were great, and the acting was too, sound.....a really great show suffered a better rating by having technical issues....and communication issues to educate the audience.

Not great - machines broke a lot, lots of intermissions to fix the problems.

Amazing for the kids. For adults not too much...

by dragonette on 2012-08-11Air Canada Centre - Toronto

The Dragons were fantastic, actors were average, it was enjoyable but really targeted for the kids. It's a good show spectacular to amaze your children, but not theater at all. I was disappointed as I was expecting something more theatrical and closer to the movie.

    Good production quality, bad acting

by Kylie on 2012-08-10Air Canada Centre - Toronto

I heard about this show about a year ago and thought the concept was amazing. The dragons looked phenomenal so when it rolled into Toronto, I jumped at the chance to see it. I'm a huge fan of the movie so my expectations were a bit high going into the show. My experience was overall pretty good but there were some flaws that took away from the show as well. Don't get me wrong: it is a good show. The dragons are PHENOMENAL and the use of the stage and set projections are clever. It's obvious that this is a very expensive production. My "problems" were mainly with the actors and pacing. I found there was too much dialogue between characters and badly acted, which made it difficult to get into. Alot of blackouts between set changes as well. Also, people were taking pictures EVERYWHERE so flashes made it distracting sometimes to watch the show. I hope ACC staff enforce this more seriously. I'll give the cast and crew benefit of the doubt that this was the first show and maybe they weren't used to the size of the stage etc. It definitely does not give you the same experience as the film. Don't expect that. But the dragons make it worth going to see. Their movements and textures were so realistic. Kids will love it, teens and adults will like it. Overall though, it was a good production.

One of the Best Live Shows ive EVER seen!

by shanrfernando on 2012-08-10Air Canada Centre - Toronto

This show is something extraordinary, and very special. This show touches your heart and soul, and it blows your mind. I am 20, and my brother is 13 and we both raved about the show, so anyone who says this show is just for kids is lying. Ill admit it, the acting is a little corny at times, but realistically, all the kids need to understand it too. There are also tons of laughs in the show, and hart touching moments. Who knew you could feel emotional about a robot dragon. Speaking of the dragons, Oh. My. Gosh. AMAZING! They were HUGE and totally made the show. They move so realistically, and really interact with the actors. The screens, the floor with projections on it, and the many fire cannons also added to the overall effect of the show. This show is crazy fun, and worth every penny. My only regret is that I'm so busy that I cant go again! My kudos to everyone is production and the actors. Break a leg on the rest of the tour!

The show was excellent. The dragons looked as if they had flown out of Berk and the story, while slightly different, was very good.

How to Train Your Dragon - a great show

by Puddles2012 on 2012-08-10Air Canada Centre - Toronto

Went to see the show with my family and we all really enjoyed the show. My son was glued to the stage and was very happy to see all the dinosaurs especially in the 2nd half. I wish the voices were a little louder as a crowd with lots of kids has lots of talking going on. The lighting show was great and it really went by in a flash - we were all surprised by how long the show was. I would definately reccommend it to others.

by GrandmaKaren on 2012-08-10Air Canada Centre - Toronto

I took my daughter and 5 year old granddaughter and we all loved every minute of the show. I was wodering how they were going to transfer this to a Live show, but it truly was amazing from the Dragons, to the set to the lighting. BRAVO - an amazing evening!
