Technical Glitiches Got In The Way!

by Problems on 2012-08-10Air Canada Centre - Toronto

Being a show catered to children, mine thoroughly enjoyed it. The show was plagued with two technical glitches. The 1st lasted approx. 20-30 minutes. The 2nd lasted 5-10 minutes. In addition, there was an intermission between the 1st & 2nd glitch which I felt was totally unecessary since we were kept waiting so long following the 1st glitch. All in all, this served to break up the flow to the show. Otherwise, I was impressed with the props (i.e. dragon's & technical effects). The acting was good. To sum, if not for the technical problems, I would have rated the show 4 stars. Some sort of refund or compensation is warranted here.

    The dragons where a great!

by PrinceKool on 2012-08-06Verizon Center - Washington

Overall the show was average. The last scene was bad, their was a malfunction with the main dragon and it ruined the whole show for us.

Great for younger kids, average for older ones

by Mach1 on 2012-07-07John Labbatt Centre - London

Just saw this in London. Lots of empty seats and were even offered better seats upon arrival. Perhaps sitting lower down would have made me enjoy the show better as being up too high makes you forget it's "magic" when you see all the hydrolics and wires coming down. The show wasn't bad and followed the original movie for the most part. For younger kids it would be quite a show with the robotic dragons moving around the floor and sailing through the air. The 3D animation on the side of the wall was great and made it seem like the main actor Hiccup was was moving through the wilderness while harnessed sideways like a rock climber. There were technical glitches during other shows according to the newspaper review, and for our show, one dragon was missing at times and then the actors were stuck sitting on Toothless while the "technical" difficulties were sorted out (5mins) and the robot was able to function again. My 11 and 13 year olds enjoyed it, me however, not so much. I think it was more suited for kids 10 and under.
